The extra takes place after the events of chapter 17 when Elena and David left the club and got into a taxi cab.

"David, it seems to me that I am getting a little carsick," Elena felt that the nausea was again approaching her throat, although they had not even driven 500 meters.

"Do you want me to ask the driver to stop?"

"No need to do that I want to go home as fast as possible."

"Let's do it then," David took Elena by the shoulders and tilted to his side, gently putting her head on his lap. "Lie down on me. It should be easier for you," he covered her shoulders with his jacket and began stroking her head gently.

"What are you doing?" The girl felt embarra.s.sed by such a warming portion of tenderness.

"Shh, close your eyes and rest. We will get there soon."

The girl obediently closed her eyes and began to enjoy the light touch of a man's hand through her hair.

"I saw you," Elena said softly a few minutes later.

"Where did you see me?"

"I saw you before our first meeting. In a dream."

"In a dream?" David asked in surprise.

"Actually, I thought so. I sometimes have strange dreams, and in one of them, there was a man who looked like you. Although, now I think that you are completely different. Your hair is darker, and your eyes are of a different color. But, for some reason, when I first saw you at Jason's birthday party, I thought it was you."

"Hmm, interesting. So what? Are you disappointed that I am not him?" David asked her with a teasing smile on his face.

"No, not disappointed. You are nice too. Moreover, it is just a dream," Elena grinned back.

"Oh, it's a relief then. And I really thought that I had lost to some fictional man from your strange fantasies."

"Yah you! I won't tell you anything else."

"Haha, okay, okay. I was just joking." David put one hand on Elena's shoulders and gave a little hug, while he continued to stroke her hair with his other hand.

"Sir, we have arrived," the taxi driver replied when the car reached the designated place.

"Elena?" David quietly called the girl, but she didn't answer and continued to doze peacefully on his lap.

"Let's wait a bit. I do not want to disturb her yet."

"As you say, sir. I'll wait outside then," the driver replied and carefully got out of the car.

The young man removed a strand of hair from Elena's face and gently put it behind her ear. Moonlight breaking through the window of the car caressed the girl's delicate skin with its rays. The man sat spellbound by this wonderful picture and tried to study every dash of her face.

Sometime later, Elena's eyelashes faltered slightly, and she slowly opened her eyes.

"Mmm, have we arrived yet?" She asked David in a slightly sleepy voice and lifted her head from his knees.

"Yes, just now."

"Where's the driver?" Elena was surprised, not noticing him in the car.

"He went for a quick smoke."

"Aah, ok then... By the way, Professor Richards asked me to give you some doc.u.ments. Will you wait? I'll get back quickly." Elena got out of the car and headed into the house to get the doc.u.ments. A couple of minutes later, she came back and handed a folder with papers to David, who was waiting for her at the gate of the house.

"Here it is. The doc.u.ments of the professor and my report that you asked."

"Have you prepared it already? Well done, I didn't expect it," the man smiled and carefully looked at the girl.

"Yeah," she answered modestly. "Well, good night."

David was silent and continued to look closely at Elena. Then he gently took her hand, raised it to his lips and kissed it. "Good night, Miss Lee. Thanks for a nice evening."

The man once again smiled goodbye, got into a taxi and drove away.

"I hope you didn't freeze while waiting outside?" David addressed the driver.

"No, Sir, not at all. The weather is warm. So waiting for me is not a problem," the driver answered cheerfully, "You'll pay for this half hour of the downtime anyway, right?"

"Certainly," David replied, and stared out the window.

The lights of street lamps reflected on the gla.s.s of the car with sudden flashes. The man's face looked calm and joyful. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. A delicate image of a girl sleeping peacefully on his lap appeared in his head. David smiled.

'Me too ... As soon as I saw you, I immediately recognized you... my Elena...'
