Corey closed the cafe, turned on the alarm and turned to Daniel with a satisfied smile, "Well, where are we going to go for a walk?" She was so focused on preparing the meal for him that the girl had no idea to think about their future plans.

With a sly fox's smirk on his face, Daniel bent down in a respectful bow and extended his hand to Corey, "Would you like a ride with me, my queen?"

The girl followed her gaze in the direction he was pointing, and her jaw almost dropped down to the ground, at least Corey felt that way. "You're not serious, right? Is this some kind of a joke?" She looked at Daniel, but the foxy smile of the man only confirmed the seriousness of his intentions.

Corey's eyes widened in surprise, the girl waved her hands and, barely restraining the embarra.s.sment that covered her from head to toe, turned her head in negation, "Daniel Anderson, don't even think that I'll sit in this thing on my own initiative!"

"Haha, come on, when will you have such an amazing opportunity! Catch the moment!" The man took her hand and dragged her to their transport; the couple was accompanied by the bewitched gazes of pa.s.sers-by.

People froze in shock, many of them saw such beauty for the first time.

A man in a perfectly ironed tuxedo bowed to Corey and opened the door, "Your Majesty, have a nice trip."

"Thank you," Corey said embarra.s.sedly and sat on the seat, she was red as a tomato and did not know where to hide her eyes. Not that the girl felt confused, being in the spotlight. She has attended many social events since childhood and got used to camera flashes and gazes, especially the envious glances of other women when she went out with Daniel.

But now, not knowing why, she was more embarra.s.sed than ever. No doubt this man was able to surprise. She had long ceased to respond to his sometimes extravagant actions, but today he again took her by surprise. Who would have thought that he would come on their date on a ... carriage.

Yes, yes, that's right, it was a carriage, as in the most beautiful historical or Disney films. Cinderella would burn with envy if she saw it. Snow-white base, forged gilded frame, fresh flowers, and large wheels. It was harnessed by a pair of the same n.o.ble-white snow-horses, which were managed by an equally notable coachman, who was sitting in his place with a look, full of dignity.

And if Corey's memory was right, this carriage was the most expensive and demanded in the city, there was a big queue to book this carriage since it was booked two years in advance.

The coachman waved the reins, and the carriage moved forward under the monotonous clatter of hooves. Cars were slowing down, pa.s.sers-by were stopping on the spot and pulling out their phones to capture an unusual vehicle that appeared in the very center of the city as if it had accidentally got here from another era.

"And where are we going?" Corey asked, trying to distract herself from the contented smiles of the people they were pa.s.sing by. It is good that she did not live in the Middle Ages, the girl did not even imagine that a trip in an open carriage could confuse her so much. And how did Daniel manage to discover in her something that she herself did not even think about?

"To the central park," the man answered, he looked pleased and relaxed, completely not noticing the close attention of those around him.

"To the central park?! It's at least one hour ride from here!" The girl exclaimed, she was plunged into a dilemma. On the one hand, she was fascinated by this carriage, like all the people who saw it along the way, on the other hand, she doubted whether her heart would withstand an hour of such attention.

In the center of the city, there were always some journalists here and there, and some of them would have definitely recognized Daniel, then their date could be compromised, but the man immediately calmed all her worries.

"John, drop us around the corner, please," Daniel asked the coachman, and he complied with the order, stopping the carriage ten meters around the corner from the main street. Daniel came down and held out his hand to Corey.

"Will we go no further?" she asked in surprise. They pa.s.sed no more than two hundred meters, so this was clearly not their final destination.

"Well, you see, the fact is that John just dropped us off near my car, since this is the closest place that I could find to your cafe, with a parking spot available. But if you want, we can continue our journey on a carriage," the man suggested and winked at the girl playfully.

Corey rolled her eyes, only Daniel could have thought of hiring a carriage, which cost five thousand dollars an hour to be dropped off at the nearest parking lot.

The man understood the girl's train of thought and grinned sarcastically, "Just don't pretend you didn't like it." He took her hand and led her to his Mercedes-Maybach S-Cla.s.s, which attracted attention no less than the carriage itself, or maybe even more.

The girl smiled and did not argue with him, because she really liked the surprise, she felt like a real princess. Although Daniel often told her that she had long since become a queen, strong and independent, and if she allowed him, he was ready to make her the happiest in the world.

Corey squeezed the man's palm, the heat in her heart flared more and more. He confidently held her hand and led her forward, his broad back was like a strong wall that could protect her from any adversity. And at this moment she wanted this man to be happy, too, because he deserved it, perhaps even more than herself.

She admired his story about how he accidentally saw this carriage, and, as it turned out, the coachman was one of his old acquaintances, and he agreed to allocate half an hour of his time to give them a ride to the car, so they were lucky that they did not have to wait for a two-year turn to ride on it. But if Corey wishes, Daniel can arrange the trip again.

Daniel led the girl to the car and opened the door, her eyes did not leave him for a moment, "Um, what is it? Didn't you really like it?" For a second, he thought that his spontaneous decision was too flashy, and Corey was one of those people who did not like to show off before others.

"Silly, how did you even think of this?! There has never been such a thing that I didn't like your next new adventure," she shook her head as if scolding a little boy. Daniel indeed sometimes could behave like a child, but even this feature of him made the girl's heart tremble.

"I like everything you do, just as much as I like you," she stood on her toes and left a light kiss on the man's lips, then winked and gracefully got into the car.

Daniel put his hands on the roof of the car and exhaled slowly. Oh, this woman will surely drive him crazy someday. He wanted so much to grab her right here and now and cover her whole body with pa.s.sionate kisses, but, thank G.o.d, one of the main features of the Andersons was patience, and he pumped this skill very well in recent years.

Although his composure was melting slowly.

If Corey knew about his unbridled fantasies, she certainly would not have let him enter the threshold of her house. But, the man did not know that the girl waiting for him in the car possessed no less crazy imagination than he did. And only G.o.d knew how far these two went in their fantasies regarding each other.

Daniel got into the car and started the engine, "I was thinking, how about going to the south park instead of the central park? We have never been there, although this place is famous for its avenue of roses, which you love so much," he suggested and Corey tensed a little but did not show anything.

She squeezed her seat belt and answered with a smile on her face, "Of course, let's go." Her hands became slightly wet, this park was one of the places in the city that she had avoided for the past six years. But it is impossible to constantly run away from the past and sooner or later it is necessary to face it.

In six years, this place has changed a lot, and if Corey did not know where she was, she would never have guessed. Everywhere there were roses of various shades and varieties - high, low, with lush and with small buds, white, scarlet, pink, yellow and even blue.

The central gate of the park was new and was a forged pattern depicting two lovers surrounded by flowers. The man bent his knee in front of the girl sitting on the bench. Their hands were extended to each other and when the gates were closed, they could touch each other.

Corey's heart sank from this picture.

This park was very popular among the couples in love who visited her cafe, and she heard how beautiful this gate was, but did not expect to see its beauty personally.

She felt a lump approach her throat.

The girl closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she squeezed Daniel's hand and led him forward, "Well, let's see what it is famous for? I heard it's very beautiful here."

The man nodded in the affirmative and followed her. Tall trees created a pleasant shadow, roses were planted along each path, and when a person walked along the alley, he was enveloped in their pleasant aroma, slightly changing each time when one variety of roses replaced another. Perhaps this was one of the most peaceful places in the city.

The couple was walking through the park, enjoying the silence and beauty of the flowers, even Daniel was fascinated by how this place was saturated with love. Not surprisingly, many here confessed their love to their soulmates and asked for their hands and hearts.

If he knew in advance that it was so beautiful here, he would certainly have prepared some kind of gift for Corey, so that both of them would remember this place.

He did not know that this place was once exactly where her happiness and pain, which the girl tried to leave in the past, started from.

Corey slowed down and stopped, Daniel looked at her and followed her gaze. Not far from them was a bench around which, perhaps, the most beautiful roses that were only in this park were planted.

Flowers created an arch above the bench, lanterns with exquisite shades were standing on either side of the bench, illuminating it at night.

Several couples in love gathered near this place and took turns taking photos, imitating the poses of a man and a woman, depicted on the central gate of the park.

"Sorry, but you won't tell me what's going on here?" Daniel asked the gardener who was working near them.

"Oh, you are probably here for the first time, since you don't know this story," the old man sat up straight and pointed towards the bench, "A man came to the park administrator several years ago and donated ten million dollars for the improvement. He asked to decorate this bench better than any other, as this was the place where he first confessed to his girlfriend that he was in love with her.

You see, there on the side on the bench is a golden bracelet, a box with a ring and a Teddy bear. As the designer said, the bracelet was just a real gift that he gave her. But the ring and the toy is already a symbol of what he could not get. Either he died, or the girl rejected him, but young people often come here to propose. So if this man is still alive, we hope that he has found his happiness. Because his donation allows old people like me to work in such a beautiful place," the gardener finished his story and returned to his work.

"Hm, what do you know, how romantic," Daniel said thoughtfully, he didn't think that such a story was behind this place.

"Yes, you are right. Let's go?" Corey tried to smile as naturally as possible, grabbed the man's hand and led him away from this place, but the noisy conversation of the people crowding around the bench deprived her of her last composure.

"Wow, look! There is even an inscription on the bracelet! "Forever yours and only yours." Oh, how beautiful!" The girl shouted joyfully, tugging at her friend, "I wish someone would have made such a declaration of love to me!"

"Yeah, it doesn't hurt to dream," commented the second girl admiring the cries of her friend, "Oh, there are even initials, R and C. Do you think these are the first letters of the name?"

"Yes, most likely they are. G.o.d, I am so jealous! This R or C, I don't know which of them is a man, probably loved her very much, since he kept this place as a keepsake. Some are lucky," answered the girl and she and her friend went on about their business.

Corey froze and looked at the bench. The inscription and letters were visible very well. R and С. Outsiders did not know what this meant, but she knew very well what was being discussed.

The person who designed this place was clearly a professional since he even retained the handwriting of the one who decided to capture this place in his memory.

Forever yours and only yours.
