What was this, like the 14th time already? Zhao Wei thought as he dropped from another coc.o.o.n. The first two times, he considered learning cost. After that baboon knocked him down, he came back down again to figure out what was going on only to be put down by some other random monkey.

The third time around, he dodged the attacks long enough to figure out what was going on here, this whole place was like a gigantic battle royale. Everyone was an enemy, and as soon as someone was down, their opponents would pick up their bodies and throw it back to those over hanging vines which would coil them up back into a coc.o.o.n to be dropped back down about 2 hours later.

Trouble was that, even when he could figure out what was going on, it didn't mean he was actually able to keep himself up for long here. First was mainly because everyone here, including all the smaller apes were stronger than him in almost every physical aspect, the only thing he could match them in was probably his durability, but even that didn't mean much in the face of ten to twenty attacks.

Second was because of the chaotic format of the battle royale. Attacks were coming from everywhere, there was never a time where he could deal with any of his opponents one-on-one because he had to split his focus in all directions to make sure that he wasn't suddenly attacked by one of them who suddenly decided to change directions. That and the stray flying bodies.

Three of his defeats happened simply because he was unlucky enough to be in the flight path of one of the apes who had been sent hurtling by a powerful blow by one of the bigger ones like the gorillas and orangutans. And while their coats of fur might make them seem soft to touch, Zhao Wei found the experience of having his face mashed against their backs several notches more unpleasant than he expected.

While he complained about the fight he understood one thing very clearly, he was way too weak. All the recent fights he'd been in had him just hanging on to his life by a thread. Here, he was shown how easily any of those fights could've gone south. The more than ten fights he had lost told him they probably should've gone south.

This was becoming increasingly clear every time he woke up and found himself falling back into this madness. That coupled with the realization that so far he'd been fighting in the little leagues.

This whole battle royale spanned the whole forest, and as far as he knew he was at the edge of it where all these coc.o.o.ns were hanging from. Every step he wanted to move forward meant a higher level of difficulty. The primates were stronger and the battle several times more chaotic than just a meter behind them. It was almost like a giant boundary, down here it was a tough all around brawl, but once he pa.s.sed that line, It would be h.e.l.l. That's not even the crazy part.

No, the crazy part was that all of them could walk away from this madness. After the fifth drop or so, Zhao Wei decided to go in the opposite direction from where the fighting was. He walked until he reached the end of the jungle and truly there was nothing stopping him or any of those apes from moving away, but like every one of them before him, they all walked back in.

He couldn't pin a reason for any of the primates to live such a m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.tic lifestyle, but he had one of his own. Ever since the first time he'd stepped out from the coc.o.o.n, there was a very powerful consciousness that had been locked on him. He couldn't see the creature who was giving off this vibe, but he was almost 100% certain it was the giant ape king who had taken him down before.

There was a little playfulness in it, and every single time Zhao Wei fell in battle he could feel the other side become a little disappointed. It was as if it was calling to Zhao Wei, waiting for him, urging him to reach the center of the storm where it was waiting for another challenge.

Thinking about it, Zhao Wei's Tantra circulated to it's highest level as his body began to sink into the ground. For some reason he didn't really feel like disappointing the big oaf.
