Abium glanced at Nicolaus and Fennelis and affirmed they wouldn't endure that attack for a long if this continued. He made up his mind and spoke.
"Lord Skaktak, We must return to our maternal plane in a few days; otherwise, something bad might happen to our friends. We are willing to take any other difficult tasks."
But the Skeleton Lord Skaktak didn't even listen to his pleading and commanded Grurdin and other two skeletons soldiers who stood behind him.

"Send them to Kirkcord mining cave and make them work harder. I need them to provide two kilograms of mithril every month."
After he delivered that, he instantly withdrew his attack and started pondering; meanwhile, Abium a.s.sisted Fennelis and Nicolaus to recover. Then Skaktak abruptly s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards Umi, who stood near her mom tensely and noticed something was off about this child.
Suddenly, he took out a pebble and flung it towards her brow. Abium realized what that Skaktak was doing and instantly cast 'Blink' spell and appeared in front of her. He understood this point Skaktak went too far to try test Umi.
Abium used his sword aura and barred that pebble utilizing his full strength. But after that pebble crashed with his sword, a loud noise resounded, the attack forced him from that place to few meters backward.
At the same moment, Abium noticed Umi transformed into beast form and evaded that stone. Then, he felt he was smashed by something very hard and slowly sat up. He sensed his body couldn't withstand that attack and coughed up some blood.
Fennelis immediately try to defend her daughter but fell due to the previous attack. Abium was also astounded at Umi's reaction speed, then s.h.i.+fted his eyes towards Sksktak and gave a glare. He could tell Skaktak was messing with them.
"Wow! I didn't expect to meet an apprentice mage here. But too bad in this undead realm, and you are no match for me. More than that, here you won't be able to find pure mana to recover."
Skaktak spoke in amusing tone and once again s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards Umi. In the beginning, he didn't consider this girl as a threat, but after he saw her movement, he thought of testing her more might be a good option.
"Don't worry, child! You will be grateful to be killed by this great skeleton lord Skaktak Hahaha." He spoke with a laugher on his face to Umi, while she didn't understand what the h.e.l.l that Skeleton was talking? She only knew somehow that the Skeleton was attempting to harm her and her mom. On the other hand, Abium dumbly watched at the Skaktak and didn't understand what to do.
'Ugh, Another fool! Are you trying to perform a show? Then what's with that laugh?' Abium didn't know what Skaktak was doing? But Skaktak decided to move a step ahead while holding a dagger toward Umi to test her, but he froze on the spot.
Skaktak abruptly felt if he went to test her right now, he would be dead next instant. This sudden sense gave him chills. He sensed an aura of dominance arose from that child and instantly trembled. He underwent this type of reaction when he stood in the presence of Lich Lord As'zus. He staggered behind a little while pointing his tiny bone finger towards Umi and ordered in a stuttering tone.
"W-Who are you? I-I f-felt a terrifying aura from you, child! Tell me, Half-elf, who is she?!"
Abium didn't reveal anything and slowly stood up from the ground and moved near Umi. He knew it must be one of Nyara's protection blessing. Otherwise, Umi wouldn't be even able to resist Skaktak's mental attack before. He also noticed Skaktak and other undead soldiers inside the hall went quiet.
Once Abium arrived near Umi, he gave a light pat on her head, and suddenly everyone perceived that dominance aura slowly faded from there. Only then, Skaktak loosened and rose up from the throne. Abium then gazed towards Skaktak and spoke.
"Do you still want to continue, Lord Skaktak? If violence is your reply, I will at least give you fatal injury before I die, but don't think you will escape your death after that!" Abium wiped the blood from his mouth and talked in a firm tone. He didn't like the way these bones treating them.
"Okay! Okay, you win, Kid! I can understand just by that aura; this child is not an ordinary one. Also, I can say the same to you. Why would I want to continue the fight and to make more trouble for myself?"
Skaktak's reply made everyone relaxed. Then he looked at Abium and continued.
"Anyways, I will tell you honestly, kid, going out from this plane is nearly impossible. The only planetary teleportation gate is in enemy territory now. Enemy undead soldiers constantly secured that place, and it will be almost impossible for you to get near there."
'Enemy?'
Skaktak returned his expression grim and responded with a grave tone then shook his head. Abium abruptly became interested in who the enemy might be? He thought only Undead lived in this plane, but that might not be the case? He narrowed his eyes and considered asking more about that.
"Who is the enemy, Lord Skaktak? And why are you saying we won't be able to get near to that area?" Abium peered into the Skaktak's blue hollows and asked.
"What!? Don't you know anything about them? Ha! I neglected you came to undead plane yesterday, right? Well! I will explain it to you in detail then. It all began two years ago. Suddenly, a few portals appeared out of nowhere from the sky, and five strange beings invaded our world."
Everyone inside the hall started to listen to his word, and Skaktok used his hand to express.
"They look like a black humanoid monster with empty hollows. They don't resemble devil nor like demons. But their mere presence in this plane made us quiver at that time. But thanks to our three world's protectors, our Lich lords, we were saved. Lich Lords confronted those creatures, and two lords gave their life to kill those beings, and only one Lich Lord was able to survive that battle. But, things went out of control after a month of that battle. That Lich Lord As'zus went crazy, and finally, he also became corrupted."
Skaktak slowly stared upwards and seemed to be in some grief. Meanwhile, Abium also startled when he heard about those evil creatures and suddenly thought of evil G.o.d, Azolla mentioned in the throne room. Soon he shook his head and returned his gaze to Skaktak.
"Something emerged from the corpses of those creatures and contaminated the surroundings. Gradually we noticed it was some black gas, and it is eroding and contaminating the lands at first. Later It also started contaminating Nether lakes and atmosphere."
Abium listened to this didn't understand why they were scared of these infections, and suddenly recollected Grurdin also affected by that infection. He instantly widened his eyes and asked.
"Are you saying these gases also contaminate undead soldiers too?"
Skaktak slowly shook his head and spoke.
"You are half right and half wrong. Those dark black gas we named it 'Miasma' started to corrupt the minds of undead soldiers and turned them into evil undead soldiers. They won't retain any good memories, and their bones began to change from white to black. You might already notice those changes before. Their eyes also look different from the normal ones."
Skaktak ended his speech with a somber tone then remained silently on that bone throne. But Abium didn't want to give up and bent towards Skaktak.
"Even if it is a small chance, we want to try to infiltrate that enemy territory and travel to our world. Please a.s.sist us, Lord!"
The hall went quiet all of a sudden, and Skaktak began to ponder while remained on the throne. He then thought of something and hurriedly called a nearby skeleton soldier and spoke something to him.
Abium couldn't able to catch any words due to the distance, and he waited. Once Skaktak finished his talking, that undead soldier moved out of the hall at a quick pace. On the other hand, Abium and others grew even more puzzled in this situation.
"Well! I did antic.i.p.ate you would say something like this. Grurdin! You, Rit'zyk, and dead keepers will a.s.sist them in entering that Deadland pillar region."
Skaktak spoke, and slowly everyone noticed Rit'zyk and some other skeletons appeared inside the great hall and kneeled in front of the throne. Abium found it more unbelievable because he can quickly tell this Undead was plotting something. Suddenly he had an intuition that Skaktak was going to use him.
"My Lord! Your faithful servant is here to hear your orders. Please command me, my Lord!" A thundering voice arose from that Dark Knight and caused others to tremble a little. Abium previously noted this knight was the strongest one here, second to skeleton lord Skaktak though.
"Ho! Great, my loyal friend! I want you to accompany this half-elf and others to the Deadland pillar area and come back alive. It's a difficult mission, so I didn't trust others on this mission but you, because it might provide us with an opportunity to fight against that Miasma corruption."
Skaktak concluded his sentence, then a few gasps appeared behind them, and Abium noticed several warriors, a.s.sa.s.sins, death knights stood there quietly. He also a little puzzled and s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards Skaktak for an answer.
"'cough!' Sorry I didn't tell you earlier. Once you enter inside that dead land pillar regions, I want you to place a crystal at the tree of bones."
Once Skaktak completed his speech, the hall entrance suddenly opened, and Abium observed few soldiers carrying a large square metal case. It was a metal case with some lines around that. But he watched closely and discovered magic runes inscribed all across those lines. Abium instantly guessed it must be an artifact. He returned his gaze to Skaktak and thought of something and asked.
"What is that tree of bones?"
"Oh! That, you will have to see for yourself. But make sure to place this artifact on the non-corrupted area."
Abium furrowed his eyebrows a bit and sighed. Those skeleton soldiers put that metal box toward the center of that hall and retreated away.
"Okay! All of you back off, except the guests. The power emits from the crystal will be not a good thing for us."
Skaktak spoke those words and signaled Abium to open the metal case while threw a bracelet. Once he did that, Skaktak also walked a few meters away from the throne and waited.
Abium slowly caught that bracelet then stepped ahead to put it on the metal case. Once that bracelet touched that case, a magic spell formation appeared near the area and enveloped Abium and others.
Instantly Abium felt some holy wave examined his body, and a brand emerged on Abium's wrist. It's resembled more like a symbol of dragon breathing fire. Then the case unlocked on its own, and a glowing light transmitted from the interior blinded everyone's visions.
Abium observed a white crystal that almost looked like a moon placed inside the center of that case. He took that crystal from the box and examined it.
Once his hand reached that crystal, Abium sensed some pure energy was.h.i.+ng his body. He first guessed it must be a Nether crystal, but when he scanned this crystal, he knew there was a difference between these two. Nether crystal obstructed the evil energy from invading inside his body, but this crystal directly purified all the evil power inside him.
Abium spontaneously sat down in a meditation position and considered trying out something. Once again, he discovered himself in the same empty void. But this time, Abium noticed something in his hand and amazed. He observed the same crystal appeared at his hand, and it started to cleaning his spirit.
The mysterious red chain attached to his body began to tighten. Abium immediately moved that crystal to that chain, and the next moment, a beam of white light appeared and severe that chain from his body.
A sense of refresh emerged in his mind and also observed some weight elevated from him. He opened his eyes in the physical world and noticed all of them were watching at him. Skaktak awkwardly stood far away and started talking.
"'Cough' I previously explained everything to all of you. If you place that crystal on that tree, you will be able to enter that tower near to that tree of bones. All you have to do is go there and initiate the portal device. Then choose the right coordination to your maternal plane. Then you will directly be teleported to your world through the astral s.p.a.ce. While during that teleport, don't do anything reckless, okay!" After Skaktak gave a lengthy explanation, he told Abium to place that crystal inside the case.
"Why can't I take this crystal into my spatial ring?"
Abium asked in puzzlement, but Skaktak shook his head and responded.
"This is Crystal of Light, only found in some higher planes. I don't remember much about those, but you won't be able to keep these elemental crystals inside the spatial ring. I already tried that."
Abium startled a bit because he didn't know anything about the crystals and believed he needs to know more about these elemental crystals. In the past, he only heard about ordinary magic stones.
Abium shook those thoughts and placed that crystal inside, And he noted the atmosphere surrounding them purified with a few moments and slowly sensed pure mana around the surroundings. Slowly other skeletons came closer and observed the difference in the air.
A tall skeleton stepped forth and asked Skaktak in an excited voice.
"My Lord, are you saying that crystal left behind by Lord As'zus can purify these miasmas? But why didn't you tell us beforehand?."
Skaktak snorted and spoke earnestly.
"This crystal is also a curse for Undead; that is why I didn't inform you anything. Skeletons wouldn't be able to get near this crystal, because of the presence of pure Light energy. If you made contact with this crystal, it would kill you, and next second, your soul will also disintegrate."
Skaktak paused, and the entire hall went abrupt silence. Then he s.h.i.+fted his gaze to Abium, and others then continued.
"But they can able to touch and might be able to save the tree of bones. Lord As'zus got this crystal as a gift from Arcane ancient mage Runeth. I have a feeling Lord As'zus predicted these visitors' arrival and gave it to me."
"But isn't this just a crystal left behind by an ancient mage? How can you so sure it will purify our tree of bones, my Lord?" Another skeleton stood up and asked.
"Don't think lightly of any ancient mages, Krodhur. Do you think those old mages went extinct? No! They are still alive. Lord As'zus himself a.s.sured me if there was a catastrophe arrived at our world, they will find a way to help." Once he said those words and turned his eyes towards Abium and others who listened to their discussion silently.
