Abium froze on the spot when other skeletons s.h.i.+fted their gaze towards them. What was Skaktak plotting? A confusion appeared for a split second in his eyes and soon disappeared.

He didn't understand Skaktak's schemes, but he gritted his teeth and stood silent. Skaktak, on the other hand, continued.

"Tomorrow daybreak, you all will proceed on the mission to Deadland pillar region. I believe it will take three days to reach the Tree of bones; all you will face constant attacks from the enemy and terrible weather. So prepare for any worst situations."

Skaktak then halted his speech then turned his gaze towards Abium and others.

'Why do I feel insecure whenever that half-elf grew angry? Can he possess the strength to kill me?' An unexpected sense of uneasiness arose in Skaktak's mind.

'But I need their help to place the crystal on the Tree of Bones' He pondered for a second, then spoke.

"Ugh. It's taking too much time here. Let's end the discussion here. Okay?"

Everyone nodded and quickly scattered in separate directions. Abium furrowed his eyebrows at Skaktak and walked out of that enormous hall. Others followed behind him, and slowly the hall gate barred from the inside. Once everyone walked out, Skaktak sighed in relief and spoke.

"Rit'zyk! Once you entered the Deadland pillar region, crush this...o...b.. then I will know your location."

"Yes, My Lord," Rit'zyk answered and caught a small orb from Skaktak.

"Also send these scrolls to all the other surviving skeleton lords. Tell them time has arrived for the decisive battle. It is our last opportunity to rescue Our Sacred Tree of Bones."

Skaktak said with a grave tone and took out a few scrolls and gave it to the nearby Undead warrior.

"My Lord, Then why didn't you tell them about you also partic.i.p.ating in the battle?" Krodhur asked in puzzlement.

"There will be no difference even if they knew we Krodhur because only we skeleton lords are partic.i.p.ating in the main battle. Do you think Lich lord As'zus and his four bone dragons will stay there and watch when they invade? No! They are far more intelligent than other corrupted soldiers. I think they already sensed the presence of Light crystal and maybe waiting for their arrival. All of the 30 skeleton lords will try to hold Evil Lich Lord As'zus and those dragons while they complete the mission."

"Please pardon me for asking such a foolish question, my lord."

"Nah! Krodhur, Rit'zyk, I feel some restlessness whenever I see that half-elf. So, you must use other methods to kill that half-elf and others when they finished this mission, alright!. But don't lay a finger on that beast kin child, I have a hunch she is a chosen one. I don't want to be chased by a G.o.d for the rest of my life."

"Your servant will fulfill your request without any failure, My Lord."

"Good. Especially that half-elf, he is a dangerous one, so be careful. Take action only after they completed the main mission."

"Yes! My Lord."

Skaktak nodded and s.h.i.+fted his gaze towards the metal box placed near to his throne.

'When they place that Light crystal, a great corruption purification will happen, I must use that opportunity to break through into the next tier.'

'And If I sent that half-elf and others alive, then they might come back later to conquer this plane. They may know this plane coordination.'

He felt everything was a mess and needed to rearrange everything on this plane. Now undead plane doesn't have any protectors, Which made him and all the skeletons lords to a state of restlessness.

Skaktak knew their only chance was to save the Tree of bones and breakthrough into the next realm. A smile appeared on his face then quickly turned into worry.

He didn't like to kill these outsiders who were going to help to recover the Tree of bones, but he must eliminate the future threat. If somehow this half-elf or others got the hand on this plane coordination, then their future would be very miserable. He didn't want to be enslaved and work for the humans.

The next day, Abium and others stood outside the mansion early morning. Few dark circles appeared in everyone's eyes due to a lack of sleeplessness. They couldn't be able to sleep due to worry of unknown. Abium gazed at the surroundings and observed the undead soldiers.

A total of 200 Undead Warriors, Death Knights, Undead a.s.sa.s.sins stood behind them. Each one of their strengths might rival peak third-tier warriors. And there were only mid-tier undead skeletons accompanying them except Rit'zyk.

Although their power was enough to topple any small kingdom in the Easica continent, Abium knew their strength wouldn't help enough to stand against the enemy.

He felt they were hiding something from him, which made him a little suspicious of them. But soon, he shook those thoughts and thought the enemy might not be tougher ones. Few skeletons walked out from the mansion while carrying the metal box and joined them.

Everyone didn't wait for any longer and set out. Abium saw they were marching towards the northern direction and observed the surroundings. Only half-withered trees and some poison wines appeared on their vision from time to time.

Abium also noticed the color of the wasteland began to change from red to black. He suddenly saw a red signal appeared towards his direction at instant speed. He couldn't pinpoint where the enemy was due to the fast movement. Next instant, he brought out the sword from the spatial ring and alerted everyone.

"Enemy!"

All went on an alert mode and prepared for any unexpected attack.

But no attack came even after they waited for a few minutes.

"Brother! Are you sure? No one saw any enemy." Nicolaus said.

Abium furrowed his eyebrows and s.h.i.+fted his gaze to Dark Rit'zyk. He soon noticed a shadow figure stood near him, and the next moment it vanished from there.

"Let's move. There is no enemy here." Rit'zyk said and continued to walk. Abium instantly knew something was wrong and became more cautious. He guessed that the shadow figure's strength must be above Rit'zyk.

Abium continuously used scan function from time to time and checked everything was alright. Meanwhile, a few hundred meters away from the group, a cloaked figure stood there and astonished at the Abium's perception.

"Is this the kid Skaktak asked me to kill after this mission? Why? Did he see him as a future threat?" that figure muttered himself and continued to follow them.

Abium had no clue about the upcoming threat, but he already guessed these skeletons were up to no good. He scanned warily and also studied more about this plane. In the few hours, he noticed this undead plane was full of wasteland, and the weather was terrible than he had antic.i.p.ated. He also understood if they didn't return to their plane soon, they would be starved to death here. The food inside his spatial ring was only enough for four more days.

From time to time, a lake that appeared on their sight ahead of them. After continued walked for a few moments, Abium noticed they arrived near that lake. It was as flat as any mirror. It lay without a ripple in the silver-blue water as if time itself frozen. He puzzled because this lake appeared different than the other one.

"Why this lake looks different than the other one?" He muttered out loud.

"It's the Nether lake. This lake is still not corrupted by the Miasmas, but It won't be able to resist for longer."

Abium got more confused when he heard the reply from Grurdin. He walked ahead towards the lake and noticed the water appeared pure. He couldn't be able to pinpoint how deep the lake and only saw a few small white skeleton-like figures floating inside there.

"They are unborn skeletons. Unlike other races, we are born from this lake. Our sacred Tree of bones creates all the lives inside the world! Lord As'zus once mentioned before; these lakes connected to the Tree of Bones. And If our sacred Tree fully corrupted, then all the Nether lakes also will be corrupted." A deep voice came from behind, and Abium noticed Rit'zyk talking to him.

He quickly nodded at the dark knight and slowly bent down and touched the water. Rit'zyk tried to stop him, but Abium had already reached that water. Instantly he felt some sucking force transported him conscious into someplace. He slowly opened his eyes and discovered himself inside a similar empty void.

Next second, Abium noticed countless white clouds hovering near his body. He quickly grabbed a single cloud nearby, and the next instant, it a.s.similated into his body. He hurriedly went towards the other clouds and incorporated all of them into his spirit form one by one. His mind felt so refreshed, and thinking speed also enhanced.

Slowly found, his spirit form transformed more like his original figure. While he observed the changes in his spirit body, a red glow arrived ahead of him. He also saw one red smoke cloud emerged a few meters away from him. Abium grew alert and marked one by one. All of the white clouds slowly corrupting and became red color within a few seconds. He hastily attempted to consume the remaining pure white cloud but noticed he couldn't be able to incorporate it at all.

Abium considered If he needs to improve his spirit again, he must build the remaining spell models in his mind. While he was in thought, a feeling of being pulled apart from this empty void appeared.

The next moment, he found himself stared at the pool in the real world, while others stood looking at him in concern. Only then he noticed Rit'zyk's hand grabbed him from behind and pulled him from the empty void. He quickly thought of any changes inside his body, but Azolla's startling voice echoed inside his mind.

'Kid! Why do I feel miasmas everywhere? Where are we!?'

Azolla's startled voice made him almost yelp in surprise.

'Azolla!! How are you able to speak to me so soon? Oh! We are on some undead plane.'

'Check your status!'

Instantly a blue screen appeared in front of his vision.

Abium eye went wide open when he noticed the spirit increased to an unimaginable level.

'Wow! Also, my body's mana capacity increased to 24.'

While he was happily looking at the status once again, Abium heard Azolla's warning.

'Kid! Get away from this place as soon as possible; something is coming.'

"Roar!!!"

A deep roar of a monster came from far ahead of them made everyone halt their movement. Abium couldn't pinpoint what was that roar was, but that roar made his back hair stood up. He s.h.i.+fted his eyes towards the direction where that roar came from and saw a small hill seems to be obstructing their path.

'It's Dragon's Roar!! Kid, you are not an opponent against that monster. It's a peak level monster that may fight equally against the lich.' Azolla said.

Abium returned his gaze towards Rit'zyk, but Azolla's voice continued.

'That skeleton is no match to fight against a bone dragon. Hmm Oh? Maybe that skeleton lord following you behind may hold that dragon for you and others to escape.'

Abium recalled the shadow figure and nodded his head. While both Azolla and Abium were discussing inside his mind, Rit'zyk gave an order.

"I think some monster is going on a rampage ahead again! Scouting squad, go and check what that monster is? If it is a high-rank monster, then we have to change the route." Dark Knight Rit'zyk said.

Next instant, a few Undead a.s.sa.s.sins stepped forwards then quickly vanished from other visions to the north. While others waited for the squad members to return, Abium saw a reflection of a black dot in the lake and instantly looked upward. A total of hundreds of undead ravens flying above in the sky caught Abium's attention.

'That's undead Ravens used for scouting! I think the enemy watched all of your every moment. Sometimes these ravens attack in large numbers, so careful.'

Abium narrowed his eyes at Azolla's explanation and warned others.

"Undead ravens!"

Everyone startled by Abium's sudden warning and immediately followed where he was looking. First, only a few Undead ravens appeared above, but later everyone noticed the numbers suddenly increase. They saw these ravens emerged from the dark clouds and gathering.

"Move fast! It is not a safe area."

Rit'zyk spoke with a harsh tone and marched towards the area where the dragon roar came.

'Fools! Ah! I forgot these morons only have bones even in their heads. They are heading to their doom. Abi, prepare for the worst outcome!'

Abium nodded his head at Azolla's complaining and followed the others. He thought to give them a warning and moved near towards Rit'zyk, but an undead soldier blocked him. He shook his head and kept quiet. He sighed once again and thought how dragon looks?

In the past, he only heard about them in legends, so he was inquisitive. They walked for a few hundred meters reached near the small hill. Once they moved to the other side of that small hill, Abium and others instantly froze. A sinister aura emerged from the front made their whole body tremble.

A significant figure greeted them with a wide opening mouth — the bone dragon, which length up to 35 meters and 7 meters long stood in front of them. Black bones with red flames appeared inside that dragon's hallow made everyone s.h.i.+ver in fear. Slowly, Everyone took a step backward to retreat. Abium also noticed that the dragon didn't spot them yet.

Abium saw Fennelis and Nicolaus gasping, while only Umi resisted against that aura.

'This is the dragon's aura! It is a bone dragon affected by miasmas. Runaway from here! Quick!' Azolla's worry voice continuously echoed inside his head.

Abium quickly grabbed Umi and signaled others to follow him. But he noticed darkness covered them from above, and once again, all of them looked upward.

Next instant, he and others were deeply frightened by the amount of those undead ravens. Thousands of ravens flew above them and completely blocked the sun. Dark clouds and countless undead Ravens covered the whole sky.

'It just looks like a disaster that happened during the beginning of the ancient war.'

'Azolla! Do we have any chance to escape from this situation.'

'I don't know, kid! But first, you must separate from these morons; otherwise, you won't be able to survive.'

"Ready for attack! Use mithril arrows and mithril weapons." He couldn't even have the time to think, but Rit'zyk said and threw three mithril short swords to Abium and others.

'Mithril!! Bone b.a.s.t.a.r.ds. They are using this precious metal as their normal weapons!'

Abium shakes his head at Azolla's swearing and inspected the weapon in his hand.

[Item: Mithril sword

Quality: poor

Element: none

Skills: none.]

After he examined the sword, Abium clicked his tongue.

'They don't know the values of these metals. What a waste!' Abium thought.

Soon few Undead ravens fell from the sky and crashed against the soldiers and attacked. Abium saw all of them unsheathed their sword and used skills to block and kill. He noticed they were not using elemental energy for battle.

'Azolla! What is that energy this undead is using to fight? I can feel they are different from normal elemental energy.'

'You noticed! This undead uses Nether energy to fight. It is similar to death energy. Necromancers also use these nether energy to enslave the souls and practice necromancy.'

Oh? I never knew. Is undead only capable of using these nether energy to attack? A question arose in Abium's mind. Next second, he saw a wave of lightning appeared from Rit'zyk's broad sword and flew towards the sky.

That lightning flew towards the center of that dark clouds and instantly lightening spread everywhere. Abium was astounded at Dark Knight's skill. But even that powerful attack couldn't be able to kill ten percent of those undead ravens.

'Abi! More enemies are coming towards this direction from the east!' Azolla's repeated warning made Abium more vigilant, and he saw few undead warriors stood frozen on the spot a few meters away from him. It was the first time Abium saw skeletons were trembling in fear.

A shadow appeared in front of one soldier and instantly vanished from there. He noticed the same thing happened everywhere around his surroundings, and next second, those skeleton warriors' heads were decapitated, and headless skeleton bodies fell on the ground.

"Brother! Isn't that phantom killer you mentioned in that pocket dimension." A low panicking mutter appeared from Nicolaus's warning made Aennelis, and Abium's eyes opened wide.

Yes! They looked exactly like the phantom killer. Abium felt chills ran through his spines when he saw the numbers. A total of ten phantom killers appeared in front of their sights.
