[Letter of April 14, 1957]
He (the Guardian) is confident that you will discharge your duties as a Hand with the same characteristics of loyalty and devotion, and in the same spirit of service, that you have always shown in your Baha'i life, and which has ent.i.tled you to this great honor.
It will no doubt be a source of encouragement to the believers that they now have two Hands of the Cause, one in the South and one in the North Pacific; and, in view of the remarkable spread of the Faith throughout that whole region, your services will be of much help in stimulating and rea.s.suring the friends, and encouraging them to arise and constantly extend the outposts of the Faith.
He will remember you in the Holy Shrines, and pray that you may be strengthened, guided and blessed in this new form of service to the Cause you love so dearly.
