The person outside nearly stumbled while jumping back, their entire body was pasted on the opposite wall, and they stammered: "A-a-a-a-are you a ghost?"

Qi Le Ren's face held no emotions, he decided he'd play a joke in poor taste, "Oh, I am a ghost."

It's a pity the other person's IQ didn't drop. By now, they had already calmed down, feeling relieved by seeing the shadow on the ground: "You shouldn't scare people like that ah…Hey, you look quite familiar, have we met before?"

Qi Le Ren faintly stated: "Twenty-four years old, graduated with a doctorate, worked for three years, never had a girlfriend, Dr. Lu, we met each other a few hours ago."

Doctor Lu awkwardly touched his nose: "Oh, oh yeah. Hi, h.e.l.lo, what's your name?"

"My name's Qi, Qi Le Ren"1

Doctor Lu didn't end up stating his own full name, he just pulled Qi Le Ren into the clinic: "Le Ren, come come, let's exchange some information. I just woke up and found myself in the office, the door was locked, and the fog outside the window was extremely dense, the concentration of that fog is definitely not normal. I quickly found a key and inserted it in a drawer, but the drawer was also locked. From all of the rich experiences I gained from watching horror movies, this is definitely abnormal. Then there were these strange system notices that popped up, and then I looked up at the mirror on the nearby desk, and there was a ghost reflected in it!"

Doctor Lu's situation was similar to his own experience, Qi Le Ren nodded while listening: "Then what?"

"Then I held back and didn't turn around," Doctor Lu said with weary face2, "I took the chair, smashed open the gla.s.s window to the hallway in order to leave, but halfway through the climb, the gla.s.s cut me clean." He said as he listlessly stretched out his bandaged hand, "My mental state wasn't that good…I didn't even completely climb out before feeling someone on my back, it gave me such a scare, I immediately slapped at my back, and surprisingly that worked, the ghost went away…never in my life had I felt so powerful!"3

Doctor Lu's face showed an expression of awe: "But thinking back on it, I think there's a relations.h.i.+p between that and the blood on my hand from the cut."

Qi Le Ren recalled the b.l.o.o.d.y chainsaw that could also kill the ghost, he couldn't help but nod in agreement.

"After coming out, the system prompt ordered me to survive until dawn. I just bandaged my hand and walked pa.s.sed the obstetrics and gynecology clinic4, since the surgery room is the most likely place to have ghosts. In the end, I b.u.mped into you here." Doctor Lu said. "I've always had good luck, I encountered only one ghost but apparently it wasn't aggressive at all."

"Indeed, extremely lucky. I ran as fast as possible from Building A, I randomly saw a few on the way here, but their speed was slow, so I soon lost them." Qi Le Ren said, then the expression on his face suddenly changed, "Wait, there's one thing I have to tell you. Before coming to the clinical hall, I met a killer with a chainsaw, and he murdered a person."

"Ki-Killer?!" Doctor Lu's face paled, "Oh no, don't tell me he also came?"

"What's going on?" Qi Le Ren noticed he seemed to be aware of the situation, so he immediately questioned him.

"So, when I came to work today, I heard a few nurses gossiping, saying that there was a serial killer from prison who was sent in here for medical treatment because of self-harm." Doctor Lu's complexion became paler as he spoke.

"Self-harm?" Qi Le Ren thought back for a moment. Although he was extremely nervous under those circ.u.mstances, the killer's face nevertheless left behind a very deep impression on him, "I remember. His face really did have fresh scars, could it be that he disfigured himself?

"It's over, it's over. With all my years of experience from watching international horror movies, this time we're in big trouble." Doctor Lu was anxious. "The environment we currently reside in is similar to the world of 'Silent Hill,' of course, it just isn't as difficult. Since it's a survival type, it will certainly get more dangerous later on, and when that time comes, the ghosts will definitely change and become more aggressive. Right now, it seems that that there's more than one person who entered into this hospital world at the same time. The only contact we had with each other was in the ambulance, could this have anything to do with entering the world?"

Doctor Lu was going round and round in circles in the office, racking his brain for any sort of clue. Qi Le Ren suddenly recalled the unexpected appearance of the truck right before the accident happened. Was it really just an accident?

"Now let's figure out why we're here. You, the survivor of the traffic accident, were sent to the hospital for medical treatment. I am just the general doctor in the hospital. The serial killer, who was a prisoner sent by prison guards, was here to seek medical treatment. It seems that as long as a person was in the hospital, they were likely to enter this world, I just don't know if the people were picked at random or if….Ahh, so annoying, I just want to go home!" Doctor Lu angrily sat down, irritation showing on his originally tender face. He looked exactly like an unlucky senior high school student who was forced to take an exam, there was absolutely no difference between him and a two year old.

Qi Le Ren slowly sipped on his water, he told his own experience to Doctor Lu, the only thing he didn't mention was the mysterious SL Dafa skill card. Doctor Lu did not mention any skill cards, but he had the same card slot belt at his waist, perhaps this skill card wasn't that easy to obtain?

Up until now, Qi Le Ren hadn't completely put down his guard, he felt that the same was for Doctor Lu. At present, the situation in the hospital is deceiving, no one knows who the other party they are currently speaking with is, whether they're human or…

In short, they can only be careful.

"Is there anything in the hospital that can be used as a weapon? Both of us are defenseless, and I'm afraid we won't be able to handle it a bit later." Qi Le Ren spoke.

"Oh weapons. There are many surgical tools, anything. Uhm, electric saws, uhh, scalpels, we have everything. I guess that killer also went there. But it's too far away from here, it's in Building A where the killer is, and I won't go." Doctor Lu replied in panic.

Qi Le Ren looked at his short, stubby legs and then compared them to the killer's long legs, he showed some understanding.

"I drank too much water just now, I'm going to the toilet." Qi Le Ren stated, about to leave the clinic.

"Hey, do you really want to go to the bathroom in a hospital full of ghosts?" Doctor Lu quietly asked behind him. Qi Le Ren froze.

"There are large flowerpots outside in the hallway, you can do your business there, better safe than sorry4." Doctor Lu sympathetically said.

Qi Le Ren stiffly walked out, a few minutes later, he walked back in with a straight face. Doctor Lu didn't have any physiological issues to solve but he still sympathized with the embarra.s.sing situation, he immediately avoided the subject: "I thought of a place nearby that might have some useful tools, we'll go together to find something."

"Where?" Qi Le Ren asked.

"The engineering room and the carpentry room, they're just around the corner of the first floor of Building B. Maybe we'll pick up the 'Holy Spirit Sword' (crowbar), let's go." Doctor Lu said.

Qi Le Ren smiled, it seems like Doctor Lu is also a person who like playing horror games.

Leaving the otolaryngology clinic, the two people walked down the corridor to the stairs. Halfway there, Doctor Lu suddenly stopped his steps, hesitantly asking, "The obstetrics and gynecology clinic is up front, shall we make a detour? That place always has a bunch of people coming in for abortions…"

Qi Le Ren instantly understood, he directly turned around: "Let's go, we'll make a detour."

The two men didn't get far before hearing stumbling footsteps and moans coming from behind, a figure knocked against the door and came out, clutching at their abdomen and collapsing near the wall.

Qi Le Ren was surprised for a moment, he's seen this person before, it was the girl sitting next to him on the bus!

She miserably rested against the wall, her pale face covered in cold sweat. She pleaded to the two men: "Save me…"

3I had no idea what Doctor Lu was saying. I tried so hard to decipher it, but I still can't understand all parts. If anyone understands the original paragraph, please do share.

6物理学圣剑 - Wùlǐ xué shèng jiàn. Most MTL kept giving "Physics Saint Sword" and the like, only one gave 'Holy Spirit Sword' so I went with that one. 

This chapter killed me. Although Dr. Lu is one of my favourite characters, I always get confused with his dialogues. It probably has a ton of mistakes. orz
