Chapter Five – The Human Heart Will Not Deny Tradition! (1)
LiMuYang is a kind hearted person, he has never bullied anyone in his life. In his memories, something like this happening has never occurred before. He was had always been bullied by others. By being bullied, just how much juvenile crime did he manage to alleviate for the empire? If the energetic and impulsive youths didn’t spend their all their free time bullying and venting on LiMuYang, perhaps they would do things that were much worse to other citizens.
And so, LiMuYang once again couldn’t help but ponder the question. I am just like a male angel, how did I ever get struck by lightning?
Being struck by lightning, that incident had always troubled LiMuYang at heart and formed a strong sense of inferiority that came from deep within.
If you think about it, the vast heavens had just sent you into this world but then suddenly regretted and wanted to strike you back. If you put this incident on anyone’s shoulders, they would all feel extremely insulted.
Because he got struck by lightning, his body had never recovered since birth.
Every household’s infants all grew up inside of honeypots. But LiMuYang grew up living in medicinal baths. Ever since he could remember, an old daoist , who looked like a JiangHu(2) wanderer, would frequently come visit.
Over many years, he would only wear a dirt robe, his sleeves would be greasy as if there was a roasted chicken hidden inside. Every time he came he would carry with him a huge box of medicine, headed straight to the kitchen and got busy. Afterwards he would carry a bowl of medicine that was even more disgusting than his sleeves and force feed it to LiMuYang.
LiMuYang refused at first and the daoist would not force him. He would snap his fingers and LiMuYang would foolishly drink it. LiMuYang had always felt that his actions at the time did not leave a good taste, but no matter how much the younger him tried, he could not express the feelings he had felt at the time.
Afterwards, he had unintentionally realized a term that made his body go numb all over: “shamelessness!”
When LiMuYang turned eleven, the old daoist fumbled and touched all over his body, then said with a pleased expression to LiMuYang’s parents: “This old daoist is pleased that he did not disgrace his name and finally managed to preserve the life of young master. It is already a miracle that a commoner’s body could survive when heavenly lightning had entered. Young master has great luck and his wealth in the future will be obvious, no need for me to comment on. Although his life is preserved, his body’s const.i.tution deviated significantly from the norm and so cultivating and practicing the way of the sword is out of the question. As for his head—“
“Has his head gone bad? LiMuYang’s father LiYan hurriedly asked.
“About that, no.” The old daoist shook his head and said and signaled LiYan to not panic: “Because of the impact from being struck by lightning, his head suffered a big concussion. There is a chance that his intelligence would be a bit low. Although with the pa.s.sing of time, with young master’s stroke of luck, recovering day by day is not out of the question. It is hard to say.”
“So he does have a bad head after all.” LiYan’s face was ashen. “Grandmaster, can you not think of any other ideas? This child has had a harsh life, he had already encountered such hards.h.i.+ps from birth. Can you see if you can help him anymore? Stay at JiangNan for a few years, I will promise good wine and meat every day. No, no no, I will guarantee you will live very comfortably, please?
“The lives of the people are up to the will of heavens.” The old daoist smiled, rejected and said: “I have a disaster that is coming up that I need to prepare for, we will meet again.”
The old daoist left, LiMuYang missed him a lot. This was because he was the only one who called the son of the owned of a pastry shop ‘young master’. LiMuYang liked this endearment a lot. It was a pity that no one else called him like that.
A lot of times, people would call him ‘little black charcoal’.
Anything you do for three years is enough to make you an expert in that field. LiMuYang took in ten years of medicine and so was able to easily identify all the irritable smell that came from ZhangChen’s fart.
“Wind blows as day pa.s.ses, the human heart will not deny tradition. ZhangChen, I did not think you would use such vicious methods to get back at me. You always acted on your own to bully me, how can you blame me for what happened during the lake tour? You ran at me to attack me, I only blocked a little and you flew off. Can you blame me for that?”
LiMuYang could not continue because he realized that ZhangChen started crying.
He was really crying. Tears were dripping down, just like someone had taken him out and abused him over a thousand times.
LiMuYang’s mind went blank and said in a small voice: “Whats happened to you?”
“Don’t say anymore.” ZhangChen wiped his tears and said: “I beg you, please stop talking.”
LiMuYang was still on full alert and said: “You’re not intentionally playing the card of sympathy right?”
“LiMuYang.” ZhangChen held his stomach, he couldn’t even stand straight anymore. “n.o.body has ever bullied someone to the death like you before.”
LiMuyang looked around him and saw that all the cla.s.smates’s attention were focused on the two of them.
LiMuYang panicked a little and hurriedly rushed to explain: “Cla.s.smates you all saw what happened, it was him who took the initiative to bully me, I didn’t do anything.”
“You accused ZhangChen’s of having poison in his farts.” Someone called out in defense of ZhangChen.
At this moment, there were no small amount of people who started to empathize with ZhangChen.
Although usually they didn’t like ZhangChen much. They thought he liked to show off too much and was someone who often bullied students within his year. But they’ve all seem people be insulted, but never insulted to this extent.
“His farts really did contain Five Spirited Grease’s smell, if you don’t believe me then take a whiff.” LiMuYang said with a serious face. He was always a serious person, serious when he was sleeping and equally serious when explaining. “He didn’t look for anyone else and had to stand right next to me without leaving. Wasn’t this all to get back at me for that time when I embarra.s.sed him?”
“——-“
ZhangChen felt like he was once again stabbed by someone with a knife.
Dang——
The bell the signify the start of the cla.s.s rang.
Teacher in charge of teaching the empire’s history ZhaoMingZhu stepped inside the cla.s.sroom as the bell rang. She stood on top of the podium and was about to start cla.s.s when she saw her most beloved student ZhangChen standing next to LiMuYang with a face full of tears. She couldn’t suppress her anger and said in a loud voice: “LiMuYang, what did you do this time?”
LiMuYang felt ZhaoMingZhu’s anger directed at him. That had rea.s.sured what he had guessed, his eyes stared at ZhangChen coldly and said: “I knew that you were intentionally playing the sympathy card.”
“—–“
LiMuYang lifted his head and stared straight into ZhaoMingZhu’s eyes and said: “Miss Zhao, I didn’t do anything.”
ZhaoMingZhu became even more enraged, she taught for ten years but never encountered someone who was as slow and stupid as LiMuYang. He was a student that never thought ahead.
She ‘teng-teng-teng’ walked up in front of LiMuYang, slammed her palm onto his desk and yelled out : “LiMuYang, are you treating me like a r.e.t.a.r.d? If you didn’t do anything, then how did ZhangChen become like this? Would ZhangChen stand in front of you and cry like this? Can you grow some smarts? Can you be a little more intelligent than what we imagined you to be?”
“Teacher, I really didn’t do anything.” LiMuYang smilled bitterly and said: “ZhangChen rushed in front of me and slammed my desk, he also called me despicable…”
“Then that means you really are despicable.” ZhaoMingZhu broke off LiMuYang’s explanation and said: “I know perfectly well what kind of person you are. From the first day I laid my eyes on you I knew you had a sticky temper.”
ZhaoMingZhu was a famous teacher within NanJiang. She transferred to Renaissance High’s third year as a teacher in charge of teaching the empire’s history. Her reason for doing so was to help the students who were already half a step into elite colleges add more fuel to their fire to achieve a better result.
She never thought that as soon as she transferred over, on the first day, she encountered an unpleasant incident. There was someone who dared to sleep in her lesson.
That was a huge sign of disrespect, very rebellious and provocative.
ZhaoMingZhu exploded in rage, after not getting a reaction from raising her voice to shout, she gripped her ruler at hand and spanked him for an entire lesson. This continued until the ruler broke.
ZhaoMingZhu asked LiMuYang if he could refrain from sleeping in her lessons. She never thought that LiMuYang would shake his head and said : “No can do.”
From then on wards, the more she looked at this student, the more of an eyesore it was to her. As long as she had the chance, she would ridicule him. She made him out to be the typical case of a bad student. Even the nickname “piggy” was the first to come out of her mouth.
However, no matter how much she had shamed LiMuYang, he would always laugh cheekily and doze off into sleep.
“Miss Zhao, I think you’re misunderstanding something, you don’t know what happened at the time.”
“Mistaken?” ZhaoMingZhu sneered, turned around to ask the students behind her: “Do I have any misunderstandings here with LiMuYang?”
No one dared to answer.
Everyone could tell that ZhaoMingZhu wanted to grab onto LiMuYang without letting go, who would be willing to. at this time, help defend LiMuYang and offend this big demoness?
“LiMuYang, do you know which emperor founded our Westerly Wind’s Empire? Do you know which year the incident, that shook the whole continent, the ‘Rule of the New Moon’ occurred in? Do you know which two sages ‘Wen Cheng Wu De’ refers to?
“LiMuYang, you know nothing. All you do is eat then sleep. I’m perplexed, your parents paid so much tuition fee just so you can sleep at school? If you enjoy sleeping this much, then why don’t you sleep at home. That way there won’t be anyone to disturb you and you won’t be wasting the money you parents spent so much blood and sweat to earn.
“Miss Zhao—“
“Get out.”
“Teacher—“
“Out.”
“Teacher, you’re wrong.” In the heavy atmosphere of the cla.s.sroom, a soft voice abruptly sounded out.
