When w.a.n.g Hualing perceived the true meaning behind Li Guang words, she realized he intended to break her apart from the Li family — she was not willing to let that happen. If her path to the Li family was cut down, how would she be able to pave her way to Li Luxian heart in the future?

Li Guang's face darkened. "What would you bring in front of him?"

"Would you say that Chen Yi hit you? Don't forget that the day father was here, you had raised a hand over her. Besides, both I and Li Luxian can bear witness that Chen Yi never raised a hand on you. Who would he believe in? You or his own family?" Li Guang stong and cool voice flowed. "So," He said, a side of his lip curling up in mockery. "Go ahead and seek Father help. We would like to see who gets punished in the end."

It was time for w.a.n.g Hualing to end her tantrum. Either she apologizes to Chen Yi or she loses her way to the 'Li' family.

w.a.n.g Huailing heart wrenched in anger, agony, and lastly helplessness. She was not yet ready to give up on Li Luxian. Tearing her gaze from Li Guang, she faced a silently smiling Chen Yi. "Yi Jie, for my misbehavior, I apologize." It was akin to swallow burning acid for w.a.n.g Hualing to say those words. Especially while facing that serene smile that seemed to mock her in silence.

However, her eyes flickered with trickery. She was certain that Chen Yi won't settle with a simple apology. She would ask Li Guang to properly punish her.

Wasn't that why she had asked her if w.a.n.g Hualing would go by the punishment if proven guilty?

Once Chen Yi did that, w.a.n.g Hualing would no longer look like a villain for asking Chen Yi to be punished.

After all, in the end, Chen Yi did the same. What would be the difference between them?

After how w.a.n.g Hualing insulted Chen Yi, she was certain that Chen Yi would not let go of this golden opportunity to make w.a.n.g Hualing suffer.

Chen Yi smiled disappeared: "It doesn't matter." The words that she said, made w.a.n.g Hualing look up in shock.

"Ling Jie is the cherished daughter of the w.a.n.g family. Our family has several years of alliance with your clan. How can I force Ling Jie to suffer? I just...only didn't want to be implicated and so I was harsh earlier to let the truth out. I hope, for that, Ling Jie can forgive me."

Li Guang gazed at Chen Yi with a different light in his eyes. This woman was really — either she was really a kind soul at her heart or — she was a truly scheming person. Li Guang was inclined to believe the former.

Besides, even if she was clever and used schemes, it was not a quality Li Guang would look down upon. In fact, to be clever enough to effectively counter her enemies, that was an important attribute she must possess in order to stand by Li Luxian's side in the future. Just as long as she intended no harm to his son or the Li family, Li Guang had no qualms.

w.a.n.g Hualing noticed the way Li Guang expressions changed. Her real motive today as to sully Chen Yi's reputation in front of the 'Li' family. But she ended up producing the exact opposite results — she ended up making Chen Yi their favorite.

"Sure!" Li Luxian smiled warmly towards his wife. 

After this, Chen Yi glanced at w.a.n.g Hualing with a steady smile.

That as Chen Yi's answer. 'Even if w.a.n.g Hualing managed to open up her path to the Li family, Chen Yi was not scared. Because Li Luxian belonged to her already.'

When w.a.n.g Hualing witnessed their affectionate interaction, her breathing hitched a bit.

She breathed. Her bloodshot eyes acc.u.mulated immerse hatred for that low cla.s.s, trash. "I will have you pay for this! In the future, you will suffer a thousand times more than this."
