After checking all that out, I start to explore. I observe all the plants in my surrounds, noting down which ones are where. I look for ones I recognize and know the properties of and I take the ones I haven't seen before to experiment on. I found a river about 2 1/2 miles deeper into the forest and it seems to be the only source of water in the surrounding area. I cross over it to keep exploring, about 2 miles past the river I spot another make-s.h.i.+ft base.
a.s.suming my a.s.sumption is correct I continue into the base whilst being more careful of my presence. Sneaking around the base I notice that although their ground is a little more uneven, both bases are pretty much the same.
"-I said you are to stay here until your injuries heal completely. Under no circ.u.mstance are you to go into battle." A familiar but stern voice sounds from one of the make-s.h.i.+ft tents. I slip closer to the top of the tent and peek into it.
"But!-"
"Are you opposing masters orders?" He says a question that sounds more like a statement. I stare at the familiar dark green haired hypocrite who's glaring through his gla.s.ses towards the also familiar golden haired leopard. Gauze is encasing most of his sun kissed skin, but judging from the amount used, it seems he's still badly injured. I feel a pang of guilt in my heart as the conversation wraps up.
The leopard, now in child form, looks weakly at the stern hypocrite before hanging his head and replying,"...no"
A couple seconds of silence pa.s.s,"...sigh" Hypocrite-kun walks up to Leopard and crouches in front of him, he pets his head while saying in a gentle tone but still stern tone," He was worried, you know. How do you expect him to concentrate on what's important if you recklessly died? ...Your death would just be a nuisance." Then Hypocrite-kun stood up and left. Leopard kept his head hung low, pondering those words.
This...if only, during that confronation, I had the information I have now, I could have easily healed him...no, it's not too late. I can just go grab the ingredient from the jungle and-
Enemies, I need to remember that these are enemies...healing him means one more enemy for Manbun and judging by his strength from that fight with Manbun, he's definitely an a.s.set to the enemy...I can't help but clench my teeth in frustration before coming to a decision.
Although I like Manbun and his group and I care about them, in the end I'm still from a peaceful world. I can't comprehend nor do I agree with their decision of war. I won't stop them from their decisions but if I can help or even save someone's life, no matter which side they're on, I'll do it...
I have no attachment to anyone in this world...I'm not someone who belongs in this world. For me, I feel no need to pick sides, because I will never truly belong to any side. These soldier feel a sense of duty when fighting, war is something that's expected in this country...I can't...I won't bend my morals to follow their footsteps.
