As the three of them took in the current situation, it was unclear who just got their hand cut off. All three were equally pale and breathing heavily, though the other two could've contributed that to the fact that they just had a fight a few minutes prior.

All their palms were clammy. At least, those that were still attached to the rest of their bodies. All their eyes bulged and we're looking at the hand that dropped to the floor, tumbling around a few times. Finally it stopped moving and rocked back and forth a little before becoming perfectly still.

Somehow, Jeff seemed to be coping with the situation better than the rest of them. Sure his natural grin was now locked into a grimace and all the veins all over his body, especially those on his left arm was squirming as if they were alive.

He wasn't hyperventilating, or so they thought. he didn't even open his mouth to breath or scream. Only when he spit out a small chunk did they understand why, they really didn't want to see what he'd done to the inner lining of his lips just to get through this.

The moment might've been lasted for hours, minutes or just short of a second, but it felt like forever. Jeff didn't even give them time to recover from the initial shock before he took it out on his other hand.

Without his other hand to do anything, he dropped his knife to the ground. Taking a three deep breaths, he brought it to his mouth. The first bite was slow, he closed his eyes and pressed down, but it might as well ave been rubber as his teeth refused to break the skin.

He let out a m.u.f.fled scream through his arm and bobbed his head up a little before going down, finally tearing into it. His teeth had sunken in and the taste of hot lead filled his mouth. His jaws wouldn't move any further so he pulled his head up as he pulled his arm away, tearing a piece out, a sinewy string still holding it together.

He brought his face back in like a ravenous animal and took a few good bites before Zhao Wei as able to come and hold him. Like before he tried to push him away but he was too weak. The whole thing had drained the life out of him, he wanted to say something in protest but it just came out as a slur out of his blood stained teeth and gums.

Zhao Wei wanted to restrain him, and in this state, it would be very easy to do so. But, he was determined, for whatever reason, regardless of pain that wracked through the wound.

He slapped Zhao Wei away with his partially intact yet wholly crippled hand which dangled like an empty glove as he continued to bite and spit out the pieces until there was a section where the flesh was cleaned and the white of his bones peeked through. It didn't take long before he stuffed that in between his teeth.

A series of crunches like that of gravel being crushed rang out in the cave, the sound sending s.h.i.+vers through both his companions bodies. From time to time they would hear loud snaps which rag in their ears reverberated through their bodies and all the way down to their knees which felt like they would buckle at any moment.

With only strings of muscle left attaching them he put them between his canines and pulled away trying to rend this last piece and finish the job.

Finally he stopped as the hand detached from the rest of his body and fell not unlike the first one, tumbling on the ground and landing quite close to where the first one ended up, one a smooth cut of the flesh while the other a picture of cannibalistic brutality with a few pieces clingign on to it like small bites of raw minced meat. His body went limp on the wall which was painted in his own blood.

Finally Zhao Wei was able to approach him, only to find that he'd been unconscious for some time, probably even before he finished chewing through his own flesh.

He pulled the staff out of the wall and brought his body down, quickly st.i.tching the hole in his chest and working on stopping blood the two stumps where his hands used to be. Ripping two pieces of cloth, Zhao Wei wrapped them just above the wounds, tying it down tightly to stop blood flow, he wasn't in good condition but at least he wouldn't die right now.

Thirteen braced herself on the staff that was still lodged in his body as Zhao Wei prepared himself to close it. But as she pulled it out he was completely unsure of what he was supposed to do. Blood flowed out like a geyser and there was a hole where meat and muscle should be.
