Having cleared out the vault and armoury, Long Yu's next task was to get out of the casino safely.

He looked at the watch on his left hand and saw that it was already past 40 minutes since he entered the building.

Furthermore, he had also heard screams coming from outside the room. It was obvious that both the people and zombies inside the casino had awakened.

Long Yu left the duffle bags in the armoury, and approached what used to be a door, to take a peek outside.

Seeing that the room was void of any walking creatures, he exited the armoury.

'This one has turned already… that woman too...' he sighed as he looked at the struggling tied up bodies on the floor.

The pupils in their eyes were now a faded grey, while their white scleras had turned into an unhealthy shade of red.

Long Yu unholstered his pistol and aimed it at the head of one of the zombies. He closed his eyes and steeled his heart, before pulling the the trigger.

*Psk*

The glock pistol in his hand let out a m.u.f.fled sound when he fired. Since he has a suppressor on the gun, the gunshot was quiet enough for him not to worry about the zombies outside hearing it.

The zombie on the floor that had been struggling previously, immediately became limp when its head was shot.

Although Long Yu knew that the zombie could not be saved anymore and had to be killed, the act of ending someone's life made him uncomfortable nonetheless.

After killing the first one, he proceeded to kill the other zombies in the room as well.

Surprisingly, the one person in the room that did not turn, was the middle aged man in the suit. The man had a look of fear and panic on his face when he saw Long Yu walking towards him.

Although he was tied up and lying on the floor, he could clearly see the young man shooting the employees one by one.

As a higher up working in the casino, he had witnessed many of the casino's dark secrets. After all, it was a place which had many dealings with the underground forces.

Moreover, they also have various corrupt influential figures in their pockets, allowing them to run wild to a certain extent.

What the middle aged man failed to comprehend, was how the young man managed to barge into this room. Any person who tried to do so would probably be shot dead by the guards, before they could even make it through the first door.

"You're not a zombie are you?" he heard Long Yu's voice directed towards him.

'Zombie? What is this guy on about... is he crazy?' the man showed a baffled expression, as he stared at the barrel of the gun pointed at his face.

After confirming that the man did not suffer from any symptoms that indicated a mutation failure, Long Yu lowered his gun.

"Stay here while I clear out the building," Long Yu just left a sentence before heading out the door.

The man was relieved when he saw the young man walking away. However, when he thought about the cruel personality of the casino owner, he s.h.i.+vered in trepidation. To let an intruder break into their casino and kill several of their workers, he did dare face his boss.

If Long Yu knew of his thoughts, he would have laughed. Due to the man's position on the floor, he had yet to see what happened to the vault and armoury. Otherwise, he would probably have begged him for a swift death along with the workers.

Peeking out the door that led back to the chip exchange, Long Yu saw a few zombies roaming around on the other side of the counter.

'Are there no survivors?' he was unsure if there was anyone else in the casino who survived the outbreak, while he was looting the armoury.

After a brief moment of surveillance, he went back into the room. He fished out his mobile phone from his pocket and dialled the number that he had prepared beforehand.

*Ring ring* *Ring ring*

The loud blaring sound of a ringtone could be heard coming from the outside. Immediately, Long Yu heard the footsteps and roaring of many zombies, das.h.i.+ng towards somewhere in the casino.

After the 30th second of the ringtone playing, he took out a slim cylindrical object from his left trousers pocket. It was a remote control which detonates the mine that Long Yu had specifically planted at the start.

[Nerve Paralysis Mine] (Consumable)

[When triggered, the mine releases a potent electric shock which temporary immobilises the nervous system of any creatures within a 10 meter radius]

Long Yu popped open the gla.s.s cover that s.h.i.+elded a dark blue b.u.t.ton, and pressed it down hard with his thumb. Instantly, he could vaguely hear a sound reminiscent of the high pitch chirping of a thousand birds.

Putting back the remote into the system storage, he exited the room once again.

'Oh, almost forgot about this one.'

On his way out, he realised that he had forgotten to kill the zombie under the chip exchange counter. He had been too preoccupied with what was happening on the other side of the counter.

*Psk*

Another zombie was helplessly killed just like that.

Long Yu unholstered his UMP sub-machine gun and carefully approached the location of the mine.

As expected, a big crowd of zombies could be seen convulsing and twitching on the marble floor, near the triggered mine.
