The alarm on Long Yu's phone went off. A hand reached out to grab it, trying to find the snooze b.u.t.ton.

Suddenly, Long Yu, who was still laying on the bed, snapped his eyes open. It was no time to be sleeping!

He quickly got off his bed and went to the bathroom to wash up as usual, except this time quicker. Once he was done, he checked the time on his phone.

It was 6:05 a.m early in the morning. After trying to wake Xixi up a couple of times with no success, he decided to let her continue sleeping. The little la.s.s must have tired out herself too much at the theme park yesterday.

Long Yu took out a luggage to pack their belongings. There wasn't much to pack since there were only a few articles of clothings and Xixi's stuffed toys.

With one arm carrying Xixi, and another hand pulling the luggage, Long Yu went down to the reception to check out his room. The bill was slightly more expensive than usual due to all the room service food they ordered, but he didn't mind it.

Since the back of the Black Shark was already full with boxes of supplies, Long Yu had difficulty squeezing the luggage in. He really wanted to be able to expand the storage s.p.a.ce inside his car. However, that was not a priority at the moment.

Sitting in his car, Long Yu looked at the time ticking on the dashboard. Not far away in the distance, he could see the colourful lightings of Nanjing city's largest casino.

He had decided that he would leave Xixi in the safety of the car, and enter the casino alone. Luckily, the little girl was still asleep, so he didn't have to worry about explaining himself.

Based on his calculation, it shouldn't take too long, unless something unexpected happens.

Long Yu then exchanged for a pair of X-ray Contact Lenses from the system.

He needed its x-ray ability for scouting purposes. It could help him navigate his way and also avoid hidden dangers inside the casino.

After putting the lenses on, he exited his car and locked it. Next, he retrieved the items that he previously prepared from the system storage; a black lightweight tactical vest fitted with multiple magazines, a sub-machine gun, a pistol and a tactical combat knife.

Long Yu wore the vest and holstered the guns in his thigh multi holsters. Combining with his black tactical gear, he looked like a real SWAT officer from the police force.

Checking the time again, Long Yu finally made his move. He casually strolled towards to the casino entrance and entered the building.

The casino security guards who should have been there to stop him, were lying unconscious on the ground instead.

'The system was right... the mutation in all humans commenced exactly when the timer ran out,' Long Yu thought to himself as he looked at all the unconscious people on the red carpet floor.

According to the information that he exchanged, the genes in every human would undergo an explosive increase in mutation rate, once the countdown timer reaches zero.

The person would then fall into a temporary coma while the mutation in their genes occur.

During this time, those that suffer the first category of failure in their mutation, would not experience any changes once they wake up. Their genes would all revert back to normal as if nothing happened.

Those that experience the second category of failure, however, would turn into mindless zombie-like creatures, that only seek to devour the genes in other humans.

What was worse, was that the majority of the human population would fall into this category. There is no possibility of cure through conventional methods, and can only be stopped by killing them.

As for those that are able to successfully mutate, they would gain various supernatural abilities based on their genetic potential. Some would be weaker than others, while some could also turn out to be exceptionally strong.

Right now, only Long Yu and those that had successfully mutated earlier on, remained conscious. In his case, most of the genes in his body were already suppressed by the gene suppressor serum. Therefore, he could not tell if his natural mutation would be a success or failure, even if he wanted to.

Long Yu had intentionally chosen this specific time to carry out his plan. It allowed him to enter the establishment, unhindered by any armed casino guards.

Based on the calculations of the system, he had approximately thirty minutes before any human or zombie wakes up. Since Long Yu was unsure which of those people would turn into zombies, he had to take precautions.

Activating his x-ray vision, he looked towards the chip exchange counter. As expected, the vault and armoury that he had previously seen, was located somewhere behind that wall.

Long Yu did not head for the vault straight away. Instead, he walked deeper into the casino.

Once he arrived at a fairly wide area, he duct taped the mobile phone, which he took from one of the customers, to the marble floor. Next, he also planted a small semi-circle shaped device next to it.

*Beep*

Hearing the soft beep accompanied by the flas.h.i.+ng blue dot on the device, Long Yu nodded his head and headed back to the chip exchange counter.

The door that he needed to access in order to get to vault, was located behind the counter, and to get behind the counter, he needed to pa.s.s through an electronic locked door.

'How troublesome,' Long Yu sighed. He didn't have time to waste, so he decided to use brute force to open them.

He raised his left leg in front of the door leading to the counter, and placed his left foot right below where the door handle was.

Hidden under the layer of his pants, the exoskeleton armor in his left leg activated immediately.

*Creak*

The left side of the door where his foot was placed, caved in under the force of his stomp. The strong material and mechanism that the heavy door boasted, was akin to soft tofu being stepped on.

*Bang*

The lockset of the door finally gave in and broke into pieces. The deformed door swung opened as well, yielding itself to whatever force that attacked it.
