January 5th was the opening ceremony for the new semester for Yuri Academy. Cherry blossoms scattered, petals blew in the air, and the sound of footsteps could be heard. The students entered the academy one after another. Takamaru's appearance began to attract some attention.
“That girl is so beautiful!”
“Is she a foreigner?”
“Isn't she the daughter of Gao Huang Group?”
“Really?!”
“I wonder which cla.s.s she is in.”
People began to whisper around Takamaru but she didn't care about them.
Before the opening ceremony, she went to the academy to take a look at the sports clubs. She visited the Badminton Club, Volleyball club, Kendo Club…
“Boring.” That was the conclusion she got. Just as the opening ceremony was about to begin, Takamaru went to the auditorium to gather with the others.
“Um, welcome to Yuri Academy!………… Again, I hope that everyone will work hard, especially Cla.s.s X.” The headmaster said that last sentence in a sarcastic tone. Takamaru even heard a "Tut." After the opening ceremony, the students went outside to look for clubs to join. Some seniors sent leaflets to the juniors. Takamaru alone went to Cla.s.s X.
She went through the green tunnel. The walls of the green tunnel were covered with green creepers. The sun was s.h.i.+ning brightly. After the tunnel, she walked past the spherical shaped library of antique design, and the secret garden before she came to the cla.s.sroom.
Seeing the building that was half the size of the cla.s.srooms in the academy, Takamaru sighed. It was covered with vines and creepers, and looked a little old but still st.u.r.dy. She opened the door. There was a shoe cabinet on the left. Taking off her shoes, she put on espadrilles, and then strolled inside.
“…" Takamaru opened the cla.s.sroom door but there was no one inside. She went in and found that every desk had a name written on it, so she looked for her seat.
“Ah, are you a student of this cla.s.s?” A middle-aged cleaning lady asked. Takamaru politely replied, "Yes."
“Then, could I trouble you to give these keys to other students? It has their names written on it.” The cleaner handed the keys to Takamaru and showed her around.
After the cleaning lady left, several of Takamaru's cla.s.smates came in. Takamaru explained everything to them and gave them their keys.
“Takamaru, why are you here?” asked Haruyama. “Cla.s.s X is mostly for people with poor grades, bad att.i.tudes, etc.” Takamaru smiled gently but didn't respond.
The students gradually entered the cla.s.sroom, and Takamaru got a little busy. When she finally found the time to go outside, she visited every club again.
During her visit, she met a male student resting on the bench by the fountain.
“Hmm, which club should I join?” The boy sat there worrying.
“The name on that person's name tag seems to be from Cla.s.s X.” Takamaru walked over.
“Excuse me, are you Moris.h.i.+ta Yuu?” Takamaru humbly asked. The boy looked up upon hearing her question.
“Yes, may I know who you are…” asked the boy.
“I'm Takamaru Chiko from Third Grade Cla.s.s X, like you.” Takamaru introduced himself.
“Oh. Wait, how do you know my name?” Yuu asked.
“When I entered the cla.s.sroom earlier, I saw that our names had already been fixed to the desks. Almost everyone has arrived, except for you,” she explained.
“Oh.” Yuu nodded.
“Wait, so how did you know it was me?”
She smiled and said nothing.
“Well, it's time for us to go to cla.s.s.” Takamaru said. She led the way and pa.s.sed him his key when they reached the door.
