I am only giving my opinion, and please feel free to disagree. Please don't hate/bully/dislike the "novel" just because of my opinions. The purpose of the Q/A is to prompt YOUR thinking. Thank for reading this. (I'm, by all means, just an amateur. I don't study psychology nor philosophy. I'm just giving my point of views on these broad, undefined questions.)
Have you ever wondered if you are actually in the reality right now? Well, if you haven't, you really should. We can never find out if we are actually in the reality. In fact, my and your reality can probably be different. We a.s.sume naturally that what we see, feel, touch, smell, and taste as the reality. Our brain converts these electrical signals, detected by stimuli in our body, into images and some other things that construct our senses. So, the truth is that we are only thinking that we are seeing the reality. It probably doesn't look like that. We can't sense everything in the world. For example, radio waves, microwaves, gamma rays... We know they exist (or do they?) because we just believe in science. Well, at least I just believe the contents of the Physics textbooks. As I'm not a scientist, I will never find out if that's the truth or not.
^(I'm not sure if my facts are entirely correct as I didn't do my research before writing this)
To explain this, I will use other living organisms to discuss my point. If I'm not wrong, a bat uses echolocation to communicate and locate other things. They use frequency and sound in order to "construct" their reality. I might be wrong, but I don't think they rely on their vision. Well, regardless, their "reality" will be different from ours. There won't be colours in their world, but a ton of different waves, locating a map in their brain. They treat that as the reality as well.
Everyone can have a different version of the reality. Is that still the reality though? What if we are just in a dream that is extremely close to the reality? Have you ever encountered a "false awakening" in your dream? What if this is just another dream? What if this is actually the virtual reality that is so similar to the reality that we aren't able to distinguish.
Think about it, and then leave me a comment. I don't have a firm opinion on this, and I hope that this made u think a little bit more.
Please give me credit if you happen to use this in any published material/homework/a.s.sessments/anything.
THANKS!
