I followed up a FoxFire with a WindBlade, also at the same spot on his sword, with a globe of light energy stored within.

The Hobgoblin was still shaking it's head from having 4 bright white fireb.a.l.l.s slamming into its blade right in front of its face, blinding it and overwhelming its nose with the burning scent. Then it felt something hit its blade, eyes refocusing to see a s.h.i.+mmery pale white crescent cut a small chip into the weakened iron.

It wasn't like it's 'sword' was tempered steel, it was an exaggerated slab of metal that had been melted down, likely from other weapons, and sharpened. Poor quality is to be expected, so asking it to take 4 fireb.a.l.l.s capable of blowing a head off and then a blade right after the metals been weakened without a scratch would be asking a lot.

The Hobgoblin didn't care however, as it's eyes began to burn from rage, it's skin darkening even further, until the WindBlade's energy ran out, letting out the hastily-created spell inside.

WindBlade II [Proficiency 47%] Tier-0

-Detonation Tier-1

-Flashbang Tier-1

Detonation worked by not just releasing a fireball, but having it ride the air of the WindBlade to grow, reaching Tier-1 in complexity by making use of how fire feeds off of air(or Oxygen I guess).

Flashbang similarly used the air from the WindBlade by colliding it to create a large noise, the "BANG!", while the light released to become the flash.

This meant both spells couldn't be placed in anything other than WindBlade for the moment, so they weren't considered spells of their own. I could of course eventually make them spells of their own, but that's for a later day.

As the rage filled eyes began to glow red the Flashbang went off in its face, leaving it blind and staggering.

It's eyes cleared up as it forced down the ringing in its ears with its Blood Aura, and the first thing it saw was me as I slid past it, my knife covered in a red light as it slashed into its side and drew out the back as I went out of sight, feeling the heat inside rising ever higher as I hunted. For that's what this felt like indeed.

The Hobgoblin felt a s.h.i.+ver of fear as it looked at the annoying Beastkin who had tormented it for so long, taking out its brethren Goblins. He slid past, and it felt the pain as his knife sank into its flesh, carving over the hipbone and slas.h.i.+ng out the back with a flourish.

But his eyes... they were what made this Berserk Beast terrified. The were red gold before, but now they appeared to burn with golden light, and as he slid past the light coming from his eye actually drew trails through the air, as if it was a comet tail following his eyes.

Every instinct in this evolved beast felt danger from those eyes, and he wanted to move, but it felt like a giant hand had grasped it and held it still. Not frozen in fear, yet unable to move no matter how it tried, until the knife had already cut.

Of course, blood splashed out from the cut, but so did some yellow fluids, for blood isn't the only bodily fluid, and many organs are placed in the torso.

I spun around as I went past it, facing its back as it attempted to turn to follow me, and I slashed down for the back of its knee. However the Hobgoblin caught sight of my actions and my knife hit its aura it used to defend against me, and the shock traveled up through my arm. I bounced back, leaping away as it swung it's great blade as a whirlwind of steel, and I pulled the water elements in the air to cast a spell.

Freezing I [Proficiency 7%] Tier-0

As I cast the spell I froze the ice along its arms and sword, adding weight and slowing movement. Then as I sent FoxFire at its head, forcing it to use its mana as Blood Aura to defend itself, and blinding it as I drew in with my knife.

I could see the weak points, see the joints and where the slight bulges in its wrists showed the tendons, and the pulsing veins all over.

I let out a WindBlade at those tendons in the wrist, knowing the aura would likely block it as it was still active, and trying to defend against frostbite.

But as it landed I drew another FoxFire, launching it at the knees, trying to burn through the aura as much as possible before exploding.

And then I hit the end of my run.

My aura flickered out as my mana ran out, and I knew I had one moment left, one chance to strike.

With my ability to see mana, and a.n.a.lyze, I could see a lot. But even with all that, something new appeared to happen, as it felt like certain parts of the mana moving through the Hobgoblins body seemed to appear more... soft... or thin.

I knew something had changed, likely a level up to some technique, but I could see it. I could see all the points where the aura was weakest, could see as it gathered and spread... and I struck.

My knife sank into its right armpit, breaking through the thin aura there, and stabbing into the knot of mana inside the shoulder, where it spread to its arms, and I sent the last of my energy into there.

I had healed Luna before from where the energies where going wild in her head, and now I sent a wave of chaotic mana into the shoulder of this Hobgoblin to damage its mana flow intentionally.

We drew apart, it's right arm going limp as the aura faded from that limb, blood flowing freely from there and something beginning to be visible through the slit in the side, pulsing pink and disgusting.

The Hobgoblin snarled at me, pain overtaking it's caution and fear, it's skin turning near-Black as it raged, and it's aura thickly coated its left arm, darkening to be crimson, and lifting it's sword high as it swung at the defenseless me.

I felt time slow down. I felt as everything began to speed up in me, as the heat crackled through me like lightning, and I moved.

The fast, powerful blade slammed down, smas.h.i.+ng open the ground and tearing through anything in its way... as I just evaded it by no more than a centimeter.

The Hobgoblin looked at me startled, as all its energy, all its mana had been in its left arm and the blade... leaving none to protect the rest of its body.

The Hobgoblin looked, seeing those trails of light once again s.h.i.+ning from his eyes. And as the knife closed in on its head, it had one half-formed impression, an instinctual fear and feeling of what the Beastkin was...

...a predator.
