The sand started to move strangely and the sand screen suddenly became a sort of giant mouth that tried to eat Arima "Melody, huh?" Arima muttered and created five compressed marbles, he threw them around him and the wind inside exploded, pus.h.i.+ng the sand away.
At the same time, it started raining really strongly and Arima looked at the sky and frowned "I didn't add any water. Isla?" He supposed. The sand screen slowly fell down and Arima then suddenly was surrounded by the entire cla.s.s. They had all finished their preparation for a magic and they cast it at the same time.
Both Lanya and Arister had prepared the fifth blue art and threw it too. Arima grinned and started chanting too, just that what happened seemed really strange, his chanting speed was too fast, it was inhuman. Like someone had pressed on the fast play b.u.t.ton.
"[Et erraverunt] (You strayed away)"
"[Ecce ego p.r.o.nuntio] (Here I declare myself)"
"[Sine condicione erga dominum tuum] (Your unconditional master)"
"[Revertere ad me] (Return to me)"
This pa.s.sed extremely fast, but Lanya and Night easily recognized the magic "The fourth red art!" They both exclaimed at the same time "Everyone, get away! Don't even bother trying to hold your magic!" Arister shouted and every student nodded before retreating.
"[Fourth Red Art, Nativus Dominare] (Elemental Rule)" Arima finished chanting and every magic aimed at him stopped moving. The spikes coming from the ground, the water and ice blades flying at him, the fire illuminating, even s.p.a.ce, Light and Darkness stopped.
Arima's sigil glowed and every magic suddenly changed of aim and returned back toward their caster, creating countless explosions around Arima, elevating one more time the sand.
Fortunately, Lanya, Night and Balan who could make barriers with s.p.a.ce, helped the others to protect themselves.
"Lanya, we'll go all out" Arister said and Lanya nodded.
"Who will do it?" She asked.
"You'll do it, I'll take care of him" Arister answered and his body became clad in full Spartan armor, along with the s.h.i.+eld. Lanya breathed in and her figure transformed and became draconic. Arister smiled and looked at Irian who wasn't that far, the kid who was strong physically.
"Hey, do you want to help?" Arister simply asked and Irian nodded with enthusiasm. Arister grinned and sent him everything by telepathy.
"I understand" Irian answered and his body started expanding. After a few seconds, his body was now similar to a bear's, just that the fur was red. It was the soul contract he had chosen. The Demonic Bear, also called Crimson, is a beast that is reputed for his madness in combat, his healing ability, which is not to be underestimated, and his brute force. He basically was a dangerous prey.
After that, every student started transforming with their respective soul contracts. Almost all of them already had made a contract with a soul. The only exception was Lena who already had a true soul beast, which was a big Royal Eagle.
"Keep attacking, everyone" Arister said before kicking the ground and directly rus.h.i.+ng toward Arima. The latter smiled while looking at them.
"Looks like you have a plan. I won't have time to point out every detail, so I'll do it at the end. Good luck" Arima readied his katana and lightning started to fall down on his students. At the same time, Arister swung his spear and clashed with Arima.
The latter was surprisingly pushed back by that single blow. He widened his eyes then smiled "I see, you're pus.h.i.+ng to 100 already, huh?" He commented and smirked "Then I won't hold back" He said and his arms bulged a bit and steam escaped his mouth.
He then clashed with Arister, the latter was grinning and was attacking a lot more fiercely than before "Seems like you started to use that armor to its full potential" Arima commented.
"Yeah, thanks are in order I suppose" Arister responded. Arima suddenly felt a huge pressure falling on him and shot a glance to the side. Melody, with an appearance similar to a dryad with her hair which had turned green, was crouching down with her palms placed against the ground. She also seemed to have some antlers growing on her head.
"(I see, she made a peaceful soul contract with a Nature Deer)" Arima thought. Nature Deer is a very rare beast living in places full of verdure. Nature Deer are said to have a huge affinity with nature, even more than elves, and their mana pool is also very big "(True, to use gravity this much to hinder me, you need a certain quant.i.ty of mana)" Arima said in his mind.
Arister swung his spear vertically, putting even more pressure on Arima. The latter clicked his tongue and a black light suddenly flashed in his left hand. Before Arister could realize it, Ira was already pointed toward Melody. Of course, Arima wasn't intending to harm her, the bullet was infused with soul magic, to perturb her contract and forcefully stop the resonance.
In the end, he was able to shoot before Arister stopped him. But surprisingly, a sort of dark blue tunnel absorbed the bullet and made it disappear. Arima frowned when he saw that and he suddenly discharged a huge amount of lightning to push Arister, and got away from where he was. Half a second later, the bullet he shot pa.s.sed just in front of him, from a dark blue hole in mid-air.
Arima looked behind Melody and saw Balan smiling while drawing a magic circle. Arima snickered. He determined that he couldn't shoot toward Melody at least. In the end, he was pushed back by Arister. The latter was Ares's inheritor and he was making a good use of the power he received thanks to that t.i.tle.
When Arima was fighting, he kept observing the surroundings and the fact that there was only Arister, Melody and Balan fighting him was honestly confusing him. He tried to concentrate on Lanya and saw that she was preparing to cast something, she was also talking to the students but Arima couldn't hear them.
On the other hand, he realized what was the magic being prepared "(The third destruction art)" Arima furrowed "(Could be troublesome)"
"[Adolebitque in aeternum] (Burn for eternity)" He started chanting and Arister was shocked. Arima was fighting him on close combat, controlling the lightning and now chanting for a magic.
Then, Arister remembered something "Hey! You didn't teach us about parallel minds!" He shouted. Arima smirked and continued his chant.
"[Ipsam mundi] (Scorch the world)"
"[Erumpant ex religiosae vitae] (Erupt from the deepest level)" Arister clicked his tongue, he knew what was coming.
"[Et haec stultum esse cremari] (And cremate these foolish beings)" He clashed one last time with Arima then jumped back before planting his s.h.i.+eld on the ground. The latter started to become bigger and bigger then transformed into a sphere that locked up Arister, to protect him.
"[Fourth Blue Art, Huius ignem inferni] (h.e.l.l's Flame)" At the same moment, Arima finished his chant and the earth started to shake and cracks appeared all over the place, making the sand fall in it. The temperature in the air was also rising exponentially.
Melody stopped the gravity push and panted a bit. Balan used the circle he was drawing earlier to teleport the two of them away. Lanya's group also took some distance.
Crimson flames then started erupting from the cracks along with lava. The fire gathered in mid-air to form a sort of immense disc. That disc then fell down on Arister's s.h.i.+eld as a ma.s.sive pillar of crimson fire. Arister's s.h.i.+eld glowed in a bright golden light and resisted the fire.
An explosion occurred that hardened the sand and broke it soon after. The shockwave spread for miles. Arima, in the middle of all of this, charged toward Lanya's group position without any delay.
When he arrived, his eyes flashed and narrowed just after "Spiritual illusions, those little…" He said and then smirked in pride for his students. Anyone would feel like that if they saw someone using what they taught.
Arima closed his eyes and scanned the entire desert in a second before scanning even further. When he discovered Lanya's position, he found out that she had already started chanting, fully prepared.
"That will be a problem" Arima smiled wryly "The third destruction art is too special" He said and rushed toward his students, leaving Arister, resisting the fire and lava surrounding him.
In his spherical s.h.i.+eld, he sighed while drawing a teleportation circle. He was sweating because of the heat already "Okay, I'm out. I don't think I will able to get out in time. Don't mess up, you all" He mumbled.
In a forest, out of the desert. Lanya was holding a white and black book in her hand. That book was glowing with a strange light, she opened it and the very first page was completely blank. While she held the book with one hand, she placed the other on the page.
The students were curiously looking. The book Lanya had in her hand had appeared so suddenly and they were really questioning themselves about what it could be, particularly when Lanya said that it was the strongest magic Arima ever taught her.
"[Auribus percipite verba mea] (Heed my words)" She started chanting and some words appeared on the page.
"[Voluntatem meam] (Manifest my will)" The words continued to be written as Lanya continued to chant.
"[Summone gloriam meam] (Summon my ambition)"
"[Et meam impleat votum] (And fulfill my wish)"
"[Secundum iudicium tuum] (According to your judgment)"
"[Et implerem] (Accomplish it)" At that point, the words on the page glowed with a strong light and a strange aura spread around.
"[Third Destruction Art, Pars impios] (Lawless Tome)"
When Arima arrived, he could only watch as the book transformed into a beam of white and black light that flew toward the sky "Ah" Arima exclaimed when he saw the light. Soon after, the earth started shaking and a huge shadow covered the forest.
When Arima looked up at the sky, his expression twitched "Oh, you, s.h.i.+tty book, that's what you chose? It's good that this is another dimension…" Arima said and instantly tried to flee. One of the particularities of this art was that it would never hurt someone else than the target defined by the caster. So Arima didn't need to care about Lanya and the students.
While he was thinking that, he suddenly b.u.mped into an invisible wall, and was thrown away toward the ground. When he landed, he looked up toward the sky, where he b.u.mped into something. He then saw a faint, blue thin wall.
Arima's expression darkened "Seriously?" He said and then looked up toward the huge dark object in the sky. It wasn't a meteorite or something. If a comparison was needed, something like a giant press was a lot more accurate.
"It's a death trap" Arima muttered, a cylindric barrier was locking him, forcing him to take it head-on. The third destruction art was most likely the most whimsical and special one Arima ever created. The book activates based on the caster's will, and it's the book itself that chooses what kind of magic to use.
Arima even inserted the theory of the Owl's in it, the Original World Laws. If it wasn't for the fact that the book was very whimsical and the power it could exert limited, it would easily be the first art. But even like that, the Lawless Tome is still very polyvalent, it can do anything the caster wishes as long as the final result isn't more powerful than the caster's full power.
That book also eats a huge amount of mana. You could say that this magic is the strongest magic possible, but defective and inefficient.
"Freaking book. Did you have to choose this? I'm your creator d.a.m.n it" Arima complained while he took out Superbia. Arima took out a certain bullet, pitch black, and charged it into the chamber directly before pulling the bolt. He then took out a special magazine, full of a strange light and loaded Superbia with it.
Arima smirked and pointed at the gigantic press falling on him "Savor this, my strongest bullet"
