-Order of Light North Gate-
So, I'm now with some strange people, though I can tell that they're good. I hope we could really find something from that guy. We don't have much time to waste anymore.
We headed out and moved fast enough to reach almost near the city in no time. They're faster than I thought. We have to move slowly this time or the scouts might see us.
"Take this, Miss Chara. It's a badge from the Hearth Fire's guild. They will let us pa.s.s if we can show it to the guards but for now, we have to use this as a disguise." Beat gave me a big cloak to use.
I hope that this could fool the guards, though. If this won't work then we're screwed.
We reached the entrance of the guild from the North Gate and guards were alarmed by us. Their bows are pointed at us and I can tell that with a wrong move, we're all going to be in trouble.
*Opening sounds* the smaller gate opened and two fully armored guards showed up.
"We're really not taking any visitors now. Please go back or else we are going to take action." One of the guards said. It looks like they are currently not that aggressive right now.
"We're from the Hearth Fire guild and we would like to get the equipment we ordered from the Order of Light's North Branch Armory," Beat said, wow. He knows his stuff.
"They only do business with people who can pay them. There's no way people like you guys can afford their merchandise. And if you're from the Hearth Fire, then show proof." The guard insisted.
Beat pulled out the badge and then showed it to the guard.
"This is... but if you're really merchants, show us something that would make us believe that you guys can afford to have business with the North Branch Armory." His expression changed after he saw the badge. Who owned these badges?
"Here's the proof,"
He pulled out the gold pouch and showed it to them!
"Woah! Wait... that's... We're sorry for the inconvenience sir. You can now enter." The guard stuttered and then he let us enter the smaller gate. Woah... Does this be what they call security?
"I told you it'll work. But right now, let's go to the place Miss Osia is talking about." He suggested.
"It's in the tavern and it's near the Center Castle of this city. We'll be meeting more guards so always be prepared." Is it just I or this is not the first time they did this thing. They know what they are doing.
We just followed them and so far, we haven't met any problems. I was once a citizen of this city but after I left, there are so many changes here that I can't tell where is where anymore. They improved the buildings and they also fixed the result of the previous invasion. Compared to our guild, this city is way more populated and more advanced when it comes to all defensive and offensive structures. No wonder we lost the first battle.
-Order of Light Tavern-
After walking a while, we reached the tavern. Oh... This tavern. I know this place, it's just that, I don't go to this kind of places because I don't want too much attention.
We entered the Tavern and as we open the door, we heard loud noises and singing of people inside. It seems like people are celebrating... It should be us who are doing this but I guess it's not our time yet. We still have a chance. It irritates me to see this but we have to ignore them...
"Wahahaha! Did you see how I slaughtered those noobs?! They even cried for help, such losers!" Ugh... I heard a random shout from one of them.
"I know right! They should stop playing the game because they suck! I bet they're crying right now and leaving that weak guild!" I have to control my emotions. Chara, relax.
"Hey! Who are you? Why are you hiding your face?" One of them started noticing me as I enter the tavern.
He grabbed my shoulder with his arm and tried to break it but...
"Hey, don't you dare touch my customer or you'll regret it!" The tavern keeper yelled. People inside stopped making noises and there's a moment of silence out of the blue.
"Oh... Tsk..." The guy stopped grabbing my shoulder and walked away. It seems like they respect him or should I say... fear him.
"Welcome, welcome. Come on, don't be shy." He kinda sounds feminine with that deep voice.
He welcomed us and readied the seat for us.
"Uhmmm, we're here for business. It would be nice if we can talk in private as usual." Osia started the conversation. Wait, what? Did she just say as usual?
"Sure thing, sister." Osia signaled us to come with her. We're moving towards a room downstairs to the bas.e.m.e.nt of some sort. I am not really comfortable with this place but I have to.
We entered the dark room and the Tavern Keeper summoned a sprite and it gave us light.
"Osia must trust you guys for telling you about my secret little business." This tavernkeeper is shady.
"You're too serious as always when it comes to your little secret thing but we really need your help. We are looking for someone, can you help us?" Osia asked.
"Well, it depends on the person we are looking for. You know the price right?" It's all about the gold in the end.
"I know and we brought lots of gold enough for you to build this Tavern into something bigger. We are looking for Scy, Akko and my sister, Sh.e.l.la. Do you know anything?" Osia explained.
"I have ideas but I need a little bit more information to make sure."
So Osia explained what happened, every detail he needed and so I think we are going to get a very good answer.
"Your story is really odd and I know this might sound crazy but I know the location of the Dark Brotherhood. Dark Brotherhood lives below the Light, Order of Light." He explained. Wait, what? I don't understand.
"Can you explain it more? I'm confused right now." I'm clueless like Osia.
"Are you telling us that Dark Brotherhood's guild is within the City of Order of Light?" Beat asked.
"That's right. No one knows about the location of Dark Brotherhood unless you're part of their guild. I'm not saying I'm one of them but some of their members needed some information so they exchanged that information to me which I'm giving to you guys in exchange for my gold." That's really not good business. He might be in trouble for this.
"But where exactly? We can't explore the city by ourselves, this city is really huge." Osia asked.
"Well, I heard that the Order of Light's Dungeon has a secret pa.s.sage leading to somewhere. Not even the Order of Light knows about this. If you're a true part of their guild, they can just enter the place without anyone knowing. They say that Order of Light has good trackers but pfft... not even good enough to catch the roaches even once." Are they that good? I heard Scy's guild members defeated some of them in battle.
"Don't be fooled, they might be good at sneaking and hiding but compared to your strengths, I can tell that you guys are better than them."
"Any idea on how we can enter the dungeon unnoticed?" Osia asked.
"Well, I can tell that you guys have good a.s.sa.s.sins here but their sneaking abilities won't work against the guards. You guys need someone who knows the dungeon. Just to be clear, the dungeon is the place for prisoners so you need someone who always visits the place from time to time." I don't like the sound of all of this.
"And where on earth would we find someone like that?" Osia asked.
"I think I know the best man for the job. We know that there's a location for the Dark Brotherhood and it might be hard for us to find it but we still have a chance, right? I hope this works well." I know someone really suited for the job.
"Ok then, please say h.e.l.lo and thank you to Scy. I still owe him for the trinkets he gave me before. Good luck!" The tavern keeper bid his goodbye and Beat handed him the gold. He's so lucky for all of that gold...
We went outside and some of the people inside the tavern are staring at us. We have to move fast before people might tell us on the guards.
We finally made it out but still not sure if this is safe.
"So... uhmmm... Who is this someone we are going to find?" Osia asked me.
"Oh... just an old friend." And I just smiled.
