After traveling for quite some time, as Jay said, the numbers of scouts decreased, unlike last time. Monsters' level isn't high enough to be aggroed by me. The area where we fought is still technically devastated by the battle. The only equipment left are those armors and weapons useless to even sell. I bet collectors did their best to scavenge our corpses after the battle.
-East of Dragoon City-
I am getting closer to the forest Jay told me. I'm quite feeling a familiar aura nearby. I don't want to guess and I need to check it out myself. I went to the place where I've felt the aura slowly. I don't want to get discovered by enemies in this place. I'm going to get killed as soon as they saw me.
Hmmmmm? I looked closely but there's no one...
*SWOOOOOOOs.h.!.+* A spell!
"Holy... It almost got me." I blurted out. An icicle almost hit me in the face.
"Wait? Is that you Sea Lion?" I heard a familiar voice calling me that familiar nickname.
"Ugh... that was really dangerous. What are you doing here, Osia?"
"My sister is still missing and she told me that those jerks from Dark Brotherhood captured them with Scy and Miss Akko. She said that they are now being imprisoned in a dungeon that they can't even see the sunlight. They can't use spells either for some reason." Osia! I am so lucky being here! Jackpot, but how could we find the place?
"So do you know the location of that dungeon? We need to save them. You guys are our only last hope."
"Sis wasn't sure but when she asked the guard who's looking out for them, he told her that it's a place that they would never find. I don't think it's a riddle or it might really true. If you ask me, I know someone who has the best tracking skills. We could ask for help." That's a good idea, Osia.
"And where could we find that someone?"
"You don't know? It's Elou. I bet they're now finding them." Ugh... why him.
"I guess they are on the move now but they haven't found them yet so that means they also can't find them. Though we can go there now but first, did you find anything unusual here?" I checked the area but my nose won't tell me enough.
"Well, I found some similar powder here. It seems like it was prepared for them, no smell at all and you almost can't see it. This isn't the work of Ravens. Ravens are known for their power-up potions. Dark Brotherhood huh, those guys are nasty." She explained. Wow, she saw that? She's smarter than I thought.
"Thanks, Osia. This isn't really my problem and it's really troublesome but I hope we still get your support if we find them somehow. They might not want to fight with us anymore but it's worth the try.
"They might say that Scy and the others left the Dragoons but I really know what happened and it's not their fault. Those jerks did this and they are going to pay for this!" She's smiling... Aren't you supposed to be mad or something? I bet she's quite excited because I know she likes adventure.
"They sure will but first, let's get out of here before someone sees us," And so we traveled together again.
-Near Life Guild-
We took the path near the Order of Light Guild because it's faster and quite safer than Storm Seeker's and Raven's Path. So far, we haven't had any problems yet. We are getting closer to the Life Guild.
We managed to reach their guild and it's quieter than usual. Scouts from above saw us and then opened the gate for us.
"Miss Chara, Elou's already waiting for you guys. Just head straight to the Guild Hall." One of them announced.
So I just waved at them and we entered. I guess Elou already know that we would come to him.
We entered the Guild Hall and Elou's already waiting for us inside.
"Hey, guys. I'm really sorry last time. We were kind of late but it's because we were stopped by the guild leaders of both Ravens and Hearth Fire and the numbers will tell you that we were on the tight spot that time. We were outnumbered that we were forced to ask the Elven Clan for help. I'm with Osia that time too. She knows what happened." Elou explained.
"Yeah, I saw you guys. But too bad, our guild was stopped too by the Order of Light. If only we could join forces that time, I'm pretty sure our chances of winning will be greater. We can't let our lose today affect future battles. Would you still stand by our side and fight?"
"No need to be formal Chara. We all here want revenge. But first, we need to find Scy. We talked to him and he said that it's a big dungeon. It's like a prison that no one can never use spells inside. My best trackers can't find any traces of their captors. They're from the guild with best a.s.sa.s.sins so... it's quite really hard to crack." Elou explained.
"Do we know someone who can help us? Who got the information we need?"
"I heard of a guy in the Order of Light City. They said he's the best when it comes to information from all over the World of NLO. He's not cheap, though. Also, he does business with anyone as long as people won't tell on him." Osia suggested How on earth does she know these guys...
"How do you even know this guy?" I suspiciously asked.
"Nothing... I just asked him something about something I lost months ago. So what do you think?" I smell something fishy here.
"I don't know. Can we even trust this guy?"
"No one trusts him but everyone trusts what he says. I know it's too risky but we don't have a single clue so far and he's the only one we can rely on. Make sure you bring lots of gold, though." She replied. I've got nothing on me. I never thought I would use a lot of gold for this kind of mission.
"Gold you say? We have lots of those. I can give you a thousand gold as long as you can find Scy." Pffffft! Wait, what?! Elou...
"A thousand gold?! Are you even serious?!" Osia blurted out. Same as my expression...
"I know that you guys are rich... but not that rich. Where on earth did you get that kind of gold?" I was so shocked that they could afford to give a thousand gold for this kind of mission. You can buy a whole new castle for a thousand gold!
"You should never ask someone where they get their gold you know. I'll give it to you but make sure you get him out of there and bring him back, ok?" Elou said.
"Oh, ok. But we're not completely sure if we could find him. Wait... why are you always saying "you"? Aren't you guys going?" I asked.
"I can't leave the guild in this kind of situation. There's a chance that they would attack us so for now, my tracker team would accompany you guys to help and protect you if need." That's not rea.s.suring at all.
"This is not because you are giving us the gold, right?" I asked.
"Of course, not. It's just to make you... and the gold safe. Anyway please be careful. The security of Order of Light might not be as tight as before but still be careful." He insisted.
"Sure, we will. Just stay here and do your thing while we get him out of that insane place, wherever it is."
It's too risky... but we have to do this.
And so after we went outside, some of them showed up and they somehow waved at us.
"It's me, Beat. Unfortunately, Our best trackers are actually with Leion now so please take care of us." One of them greeted me.
"h.e.l.lo there... you sound serious as always... Nice to meet you." I replied out of nowhere. I looked at the other girl and she's pretty cold as usual.
"Don't mind Kaita She's always like that but she's good when it comes to combat and sneaking so we can really depend on her." That's rea.s.suring.
"Ha...ha... ok..." I checked on Osia and she's already laughing with the other girl...
"That cheerful girl carrying a violin is Rera and she can hear sounds from afar. She would be useful for us." Additional three members... we're going to get more attention this time.
"I know what you're thinking but don't worry. These guys are good at hiding and tracking. We used to have a lot more in our tracking team but unfortunately, they joined Miss Zia and Leion." Well, I can't argue with that. They do look useful.
"I guess I don't have a choice then. How about the gold?"
"Don't worry about the gold. It's safe." He replied... I knew it...
