Yoona: Is Minhyun available right now?
It didn't take long for Secretary Kim to answer. Her phone quickly beeped afterwards and she opened it to see what he had to say.
Secretary Kim: He's in his office if you'd like to visit.
Her eyes immediately lit up. That was such a relief. She was glad that he wasn't too busy not to see her. Thankfully, she wouldn't be a bother.
Yoona: I will come in a few minutes!

Secretary Kim: Alright, I shall meet you at the door Miss.
Yoona quickly stood up from her seat and straightened her skirt. Trying to hide her grand smile, she walked towards her friends. They didn't notice she was coming because they were distracted with sending emails.
"Hey guys," she greeted.
The two of them looked up simultaneously.
"What's up?" Eunha asked.
Yoona pointed to the hall. "I'm going to visit Minhyun if that's fine… I'll make sure to manage my time and get all the work finished."
Lucas nodded, not really paying attention to her. "Thanks for letting us know. I believe in your work skills so I'm fine with you going. Have fun."
Eunha stared at the blonde-haired boy with widened eyes. She was surprised with how nonchalant he was with this situation, especially compared to yesterday. The boy was very good at hiding his feelings. She was very impressed.
Then, she turned her attention back on Yoona.
"Yeah, don't worry about it! After all, Minhyun is the big boss. Please him all you want," she said quietly so n.o.body else could overhear.
Yoona's cheeks reddened. "Okay. See you guys later."
"Bye!" Eunha exclaimed while waving. She watched as her friend exited the room.
Unlike the short-haired girl, Lucas just sat there, focusing back on the emails that he was sending. Once Yoona was out of the picture, he poked Eunha's arm gently to signal that she should work again.
She reluctantly relented and continued her work.
---
While Yoona was going up, Secretary Kim was already waiting near the stairwell doors. Since there were security guards and lower-position secretaries on his floor, it was less suspicious for Yoona if Secretary Kim was walking with her.
People would think it was just for business.
When she walked, it was interesting to see the curious glances from the workers. Some even mixed with jealousy. After all, not everyone was able to go to the president's room and this was her second time coming up.
Of course, she should be more careful with the frequency of their visits but she couldn't help but see him. After noticing the glances, she made a mental note not to come again till much later.
Once the doors opened, the scene revealed Minhyun sitting at his desk working. He was skimming through the papers on his desk.
He looked up and raised an eyebrow in a teasing manner. "You really can't stay away from me can't you?"
Yoona skipped towards him, before engulfing him in a hug. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders in a back hug, and she gently leaned in to give him a kiss on the temple. "I promise to stay away if you don't like it."
He hummed slightly while running his fingers up her arms. "That's not what I meant… I'm fine with you coming over."
She already knew that. A giggle escaped her lips. "I know."
Then there was a pause. "But I noticed that people got suspicious. Is that fine? I think I should refrain from visiting."
He looked up to meet her eyes. "For me, I'm fine with it. A lot of the higher-ups know that I have a girlfriend and some probably know your ident.i.ty as well. It's too late to take everything back. But I'm more worried about you though and if people would treat you differently."
She let out a sigh. That was the main problem with dating the CEO. If people found out, she wouldn't be treated the same. In fact, even outside of the company, people treated her differently once they found out she was dating Minhyun.
"That's true," she whined. "It's so unfortunate. It's not like being nice to me is automatic access to you. You don't even talk to everyone anyways."
Minhyun began to play with her hair, wrapping it around his fingers. "That's life. The more power you have, the more people draw in towards you like moths."
"It's not even my power!"
He c.o.c.ked his head. "It is. Your link with me automatically gives you power. Plus, it's obvious how much I care about you. This is a great weapon to others."
Yoona stayed silent for a moment. In her mind, one thought popped up. The coming war. The turmoil bound to swallow the company.
"I'm strong," she suddenly said. It was not a protest, but a sign to Minhyun that she knew what was to come as his girlfriend.
A small smile appeared on his lips. "I know you are. You are my girl after all."
She chuckled. "Just letting you know."
Minhyun then took a moment to think before speaking again. "I will do everything to protect you though. Please remember that."
"I know."
"No one's going to hurt or take you physically from me. I am going to make sure of this. However, do remember, to always keep your guard up. People are masters of manipulation."
Perhaps, he was being hypocritical, but being this relations.h.i.+p, the one thing he was worried about was people taking advantage of Yoona in an emotional way. There was more manipulators in the business world than just Jaemin and him.
And if she was to leave him, he would not know what to do. That was the scary part.
She turned his chair around and cupped his face. A warm smile filled her cheeks. "Don't worry. I have learned from my past experiences how terrible people can be. Besides, I have you by my side and n.o.body will be able to rip apart our love."
Those were the words he needed to hear. The boulder in his chest disappeared and was filled with relief.
Sometimes, Yoona's words took him by great surprised. He was not easy to read yet she said things that gave him such relief.
"Anyways, enough of that serious topic," Minhyun said. "Anything special happen today? What made you suddenly want to see me?"
Yoona let out a laugh. "Well, I was working with Lucas and Eunha and for some reason I felt kind of third-wheeled?"
He lifted an eyebrow. "Oh are they dating?"
Yoona quickly shook her head. "Nope. Impossible. I think maybe it was the bond that they built while I was away…. Maybe…"
She placed her hand against her cheek. "I have no idea to be honest. Today was just weird. I think Lucas was acting quite differently."
"Maybe something happened after we separated," Minhyun suggested. "After all, they did have a few drinks."
There was a moment of silence. Then, Yoona's eyebrows furrowed. "But Eunha didn't act differently…"
A sudden realization appeared in her head, changing her thoughts completely. "But she did say she blacked out and didn't remember some of the night! Oh my G.o.d. This is such a eureka moment."
Minhyun chuckled. "Good detective skills you got there."
Yoona widened her eyes, not believing the strange theories appearing in her head. It couldn't be.
"Well, I hope as the detective, I'm right because the thoughts in my head are crazy."
Just what happened between those two after they left?
