'Did i say something wrong?'
She thought it was quite a waste that they did not get to have a rather 'decent' late night conversation since she wasn't all that sleepy yet.
Hmm.
Laurice seemed to have thought of something and suddenly burst in laughter.
'He's not possibly being shy, is he?'
'Eh?! Right, what about his bath? What is he going to change into? It's not like i have any spare clothes for men, even my oversized s.h.i.+rts won't even fit him.'
She paused at a sudden possibility that came to her mind and shuddered.
The image of the man popped up in her head.
Laurice gulped. Her cheeks blushed.
'What if ... he ... actually sleep in the nude?'
d.a.m.n.
She shook her head vigorously before her imaginations run wild.
But should she really ask him? He was her guest any way. However, she can't be careless or she might trip on her own words. She thought she might not be able to handle the consequences if the man himself went wild and unrestrained again.
She then decided to just rely on someone else's help to avoid causing trouble and went straight to her room upstairs.
...
Laurice has no idea that a certain man have actually been trying his hardest to restrain himself from the beginning.
'But, is it really just him?'
...
In her room.
"Hey Brother! Long time no see!" Laurice cheerfully spoke over the phone.
There was a long pause before Laurice heard a disgruntled reply from the person on the other side of the line who obviously recognized her voice.
"What long time no see?! You ungrateful brat! You never even bothered calling! How long has it been already huh?! You dared come back? I'm hanging up!" The man on the line furiously replied but did not end the call anyway.
She burst out laughing.
Her good old friend haven't changed at all indeed.
"I miss you too! But why aren't you hanging up yet?" She mocked. Laurice definitely enjoyed poking fun at this particular guy who's actually the sweetest and certainly the number one amongst her friends back in the states who dotes on her the most.
"Hmp! Who misses you?" He harrumphed.
Laurice could not help but laugh at the man's silliness and cleared her throat before speaking again, "Where are you? Are you home? I need your help with something."
"What?! The first you time call me since forever only to ask for my help? You cheeky brat. How can you be so shameless? And you did not even bother meeting with us since you arrived. If not for that good old 'Cat' we would never know your plans. Tell me, are we that insignificant to you?" The man continued ranting with a tinge of grief in his tone. He was sulking already.
The man was referring to their common friend Catherine whom she was supposed to meet yesterday.
Indeed, based on their conversation just now the man seemed to be crossed again. Any more delay and he will get emotional on her it won't be easy to coax him.
Laurice sighed and said, "You're all important to me. And i really missed everybody. But i have an urgent situation, tell me where you are exactly."
"Tsk. I'm home, ofcourse. Why? Do you wanna see my handsome face? You might not sleep tonight darling." He said.
"Enough with your nonsense Dylan. Come here at my place with a pair of new and decent pajamas probably around a size of forty two for a man who is over six foot tall. Remember, new and decent. I need it now. I'll send you my address."
Laurice knew her friends' homes and the person she had just called is actually living on the same village only a few blocks away from her own house.
She thought who could best help her with her problem than that person who was like a big brother to her.
...
However, she had no idea that her decision is yet another disaster that will bring forth an impending storm.
...
Laurice could never guess that the man on the other line was shocked to the core, his jaw dropped in an instant.
Dylan gasped sharply and was about to talk again when the line suddenly went off.
The cheeky brat had the nerve to hang up on him!
'Not even a thank you?' He thought.
'Well, you're welcome.' He sneered. He wanted to roast the woman alive for ordering him like always but the thing that was bothering him the most was the exact reason why the woman called.
The man deliberated inwardly.
Pajamas for a particular male.
Laurice asked him to come to her place.
She said it was urgent.
'What the he*l?! Did she brought home a man with her? Who's the d.a.m.n hooligan?!'
The man named Dylan was already hyperventilating because of the sudden call he had just received. It was like receiving an unwanted news that he did not want to hear at all.
'How dare that man sleep with Laurice under one roof?!'
He was so protective of the woman ever since they've met. He pampers her the most and was the one who actually brushes off her unwanted suitors that no one can even get close to her. He had no other siblings just like Laurice so he treated her like his own precious little sister.
How can he not get mad when his particular 'little sister' who is known to be a softie for the needy has now seemingly brought home an unknown man and the horrifying part is that, she was asking him for clothes! Clothes for the devil. He thought.
Without hesitation, Dylan hurriedly prepared to fulfill his 'little sister's orders' and was plotting a scheme on his head on how to discard the hooligan.
Soon, he was already on his way to the West Manor wearing an indignant face. He snickered inwardly.
Heh.
'He better not do anything nasty or he will face my wrath.'
...
Dylan never expected that the man he was plotting against with will turn out to be his worst nightmare ever.
His palms unknowingly started sweating.
's.h.i.+* i don't want a 'brother-in-law'!
...
On one of the guestrooms.
Sid had just finished having a cold bath and was drying up his hair with a towel when he heard an arrival of a particular car engine.
He glimpsed at the time and his brows furrowed.
'Who could be visiting the woman this late?'
A sudden glint flashed past his eyes.
The man's face was turning ugly by the second.
