A few minutes after leaving the city of Pioneer, the window of the couch reveals the full view of the Magic University. They all then heard a loud roar. This roar resonated from a certain direction of the Magic University.
「What?」
「Look, sensei! Smoke is rising over there.」
Rinne cried out as soon as she follows the direction of the roar. As she has stated, there's indeed a red smoke rising up from the branch school——it obviously doesn't look like a normal smoke. And it wasn't just us who's looking at it.
「That smoke signal magic… It can't be—?!」
The secretary at the Alchemist Atelier that's riding the horse of the coach was looking at it too. He had a look of surprise and impatience at the sight of the smoke. It doesn't seem like simple matter.
「What's wrong, Secretary-san? Is there something wrong?」
They saw him nod with sweats on his forehead.
「That is a kind of smoke signal magic that signifies a state of emergency! Not only that but the color of the smoke signal magic that we see now means that the school is being attacked by a powerful beast at a level where the school couldn't cope with—!」
「I see. So that smoke signal is for emergency purposes?」
From what Eisen observed, the situation seems to be very bad. He then suddenly stopped the horse and turned towards us.
「I want to consult you about something.」
「Consult me?」
「Yes. Now we know that the Magic University is under attack. It's a very dangerous situation. But if it's fine with you two, could you go with me to the university? Can you lend us your power?」
The secretary says meekly.
「Of course, thinking of your safety, you two should be turning back. However, I've heard that you two have power that's stronger than anyone in the Pioneer City. So I'd like to ask of you to continue on your way to the Magic University to confirm our Manager's safety, and if possible, I'd like to ask you to help us solve the problem at the university, a place that is full of memories for the president…」
He is indeed a sincere man. If he needed to, he could just simply leave the coach here and use the horse to go to the Magic University. However, he had to stop the coach, inform us about the danger and asked for cooperation. Just as how sincere Yurika was, the people of her company are just as the same. I turned my face to Rinne thinking about this and saw her smile.
「I feel the same way as Eisen-sensei.」
She nodded while saying this. It was as if she knew how I'd answer.
「Raise your head, Secretary-san. Me and Rinne will be glad to help you.」
「Is that true?!」
Eisen and Rinne nodded in response to the secretary who raised his head with a huge smile in his face.
「Yep! I'd surely help if an acquaintance of mine is in need of help.」
And that's also where his disciple is. He won't refuse if they need his help. Eisen thought of this with a smile of relief.
「ThThank you very much. If we have the power of you two, we can protect the safety of the manager and the Magic University a hundred times that I can do alone——then, let's hurry inside the coach!」
They then all got back to the coach.
「It will be a bit shaky so please excuse me!」
The coach went much faster than before as they rush along the road at once. However——
「By the way Secretary-san, I have this question about that smoke signal——didn't you said that it's an emergency with an utmost need of a.s.sistance.」
「Yes, I did.」
「If that's the situation then, Secretary-san. To make it quick, we'll have to go ahead of you.」
「Eh?」
If you're in a hurry, there's a better way to do this. While having this idea, Eisen told the secretary about what they'll do and he then turned to Rinne.
「Do you want to go with me, Rinne?」
「Yes, sensei!」
She answered, smiling and bending her body between the carriage. Then it can't be helped. And so——
「Well then, Secretary-san, we'll go on ahead. I don't know what's going on but I'm sure something dangerous happened so please be careful on your way there, Secretary-san.」
Eisen and Rinne put their feet on the window that's between the coachman and the coach.
「Huh, what are you two do——」
「It'll be faster to run from here so we'll just go there by feet.」
——They then jumped off the coach.
「——EH?!」
They could hear the breathless voice of the secretary which strayed down as they went faster in their feet. But Eisen looked forward without turning his head.
「【Oh Wind, I ask for your help to boost our speed and protect us.】」
Eisen uses the Prophet Magic. At his words, the wind starts to envelop his and Rinne's body and supports them. Naturally, these walls of wind wouldn't hurt them even if they run at a high speed. In this state, Rinne and Eisen sets their feet on the ground.
They immediately ran.
At the moment, they were subject to speed acceleration because of the wind spirit. The power that came from each step they take was thanks to the support of the wind on their feet which made them quite fast. On the other hand, they were able to leave behind the coach that's trying to catch up to them but now completely behind.
「H-How? Both of them have magician job cla.s.s, so how could they run so fast more than the coach?! What on earth —!」
And so, both of them went straight to the school at a speed that left the coach behind.
