He walked towards the exit and peaked his head out of the hole with his eyes half open and a tear glistening in the corner. However, when he looked out of the hole, is groggy self suddenly jumped in fright as he saw Lidya snooping around the forest looking for something.
Zaro sunk his head back into the hole and sat in silence and in shock hoping that she would eventually go away.
"What the h.e.l.l? What is she doing here, I gave her a hug and pulled out, she should learn to respect someone else's s.p.a.ce!" he muttered in silence.
Some time had pa.s.sed and she finally stumbled upon Zaro's hole and peaked inside and didn't find anyone. She jumped inside and lit a torch with some weird powder and ventured deeper inside while Zaro stared at her in the darkness in horror.
"Wolf? I can sense you... come out of hiding..." she cried but Zaro remained in the corner and just stared at her, sweating all over.
"I will rip your fur out if you don't come out soon..." she threatened which cause Zaro to yelp in horror.
"This is not happening, I'm getting out of here!" Zaro said in his mind and crept towards the exit being as quiet as possible and when she wasn't looking, he flew out of the hole like a rocket and began running again.
"Haha! Screw you, you witch! I'm outta here!" he cheered while ducking under tree branches and hoping over bushes as swiftly as he could.
Just as he started to calm down, he turned to see where Lidya was and almost fainted when he saw a bola being fired at him at full speed which caught his two legs and sent him flying forward onto his face.
"I swear, I'm gonna gut you! Wolf, you are mine, I have tamed you, so don't run away!" she said while breathing heavily.
"Tamed?! Suck on my left claw you witch!" Zaro was absolutely infuriated when he heard her words and began growling as loud as he could at her.
"Shut up or I'll rip your hide off and use it as a robe," Zaro stopped immediately and tears started falling down his face, this was unacceptable!
"Good, have a treat," Lidya tossed a ruby pill over to Zaro which he just couldn't resist and swallowed it like the animal he was.
"Wait, this is bulls.h.i.+t! Stop treating me like a dog!" he growled once more.
"I wish I could understand you... but I can't so you must bear with it until I get stronger."
After removing the bola around Zaro's legs, the two ended up walking side by side as she commanded and started roaming the forest, "I understand why you wanted to come here... this must be your home."
Zaro snapped again, "My f*cking home?! You witch, I will honestly kill you or die trying right now!"
"Such emotion, I'm sorry for invading your lands... however, all races must fight for an equal standing in this cruel world," Lidya said while looking slightly sad. Zaro rolled his eyes and kept walking, once again she did all the hunting and brought back the cores while Zaro watched like a harmless fish.
However, once she was distracted by a bigger prey, Zaro had decided to turn the other way and kindly run off into the forest while waving her goodbye... with his tail. When she noticed he was missing she yelled in anger and ran after him again.
Lidya was angry again and was running extremely fast after Zaro but when she caught up she was surprised to see Zaro in the middle of four young wolves that had only recently matured. In all honesty, Zaro didn't expect this to happen and was as shocked as her when he ran into these wolves.
"My brothers, can you all do me a favor and act like I am your parent?" Zaro gave it his best shot, he figured that she might leave him alone if he looked like he had a family.
"Whats in it for us?" One of the wolves spoke out without hesitation.
"Not being gutted by that Elatus right there..." Zaro gestured at Lidya and frowned.
Lidya then watched as the younger wolves began cuddling to Zaro and felt extremely sad, "Oh wolf... I did not expect you to already have a family... as a member of the Elatus, I will respect you and your home and leave at once... I now understand why you were running."
Zaro was s.h.i.+tting himself with excitement and the other wolves were shocked to see how gullible this girl was. Lidya walked up to Zaro and petted him before strolling off back into the forest while the younger wolves looked up at him.
"Thank you wolves... I will be on my way then..."
"Hold on a second, you don't even have your core yet! Doesn't that make you younger than us?!"
"Eh, maybe..." Zaro chuckled awkwardly.
"Doesn't that mean you're weaker than us?" one of the other wolves said with an evil look on his face.
"Oh... definitely not, I'd rip you into shreds," Zaro said casually, he knew that these wolves were merely at the ruby rank and after swallowing the root and consuming all of those pills, he had to be twice as strong as them.
"Tough talk for a weakling..." another wolf snarled as he prowled around Zaro. However, Zaro was unconcerned and just sighed at the small wolf's actions.
"Alright, here is what we will do, you four will go into the forest, hunt me down ten cores and come back and place them before me, and then we can called it even." Zaro nodded his head as he thought that he made a good decision.
"There are five of us though?" The first wolf said while looking up at Zaro strangely. Suddenly, Zaro pounced at one of the wolves and started taring their flesh and hide apart as if it was the cotton inside a pillow until there was nothing left but blood and flesh scattered around them.
"Have it done preferably by tonight because I have things to do, bring the cores right here, thank you." The wolves stared at Zaro in horror and the one wolf that was acting up had peed himself at the thought of Zaro doing the same thing to him if he attacked.
They all swallowed their pride and bolted through the forest looking for some prey to catch so that they wouldn't have to face the negative consequences. Meanwhile, Zaro used this time to refine the wolf's core and consume it until they came back with more.
