I flipped my body up on reflex and looked around me.
It was that G.o.d!
Outside the window the dark of the night dominated my view, it wasn't morning yet.
YOU'VE HAD IT COMFY ENOUGH IN MY OPINION!
What is this b.a.s.t.a.r.d talking about, had it comfy?
Ella and Rose were also awakened by his voice; they had never heard it before.
SOON THINGS WILL BECOME INTERESTING.
My thoughts flickered to Kuro and Asura when he said that, I knew what was coming. It would be a d.a.m.n blood bath for normal people when players turn up. All for his sick entertainment.
SOME OF YOU MAY KNOW WHAT IS TOO COME.
I walked out of the house we were in, I knew I couldn't see that G.o.d, but I felt like I could when I walked out. The night wind was cold, but I felt nothing as I listened to his voice. The source of my revenge, the person who took my family, I would one day make him pay.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY MY LITTLE PRESENT.
As I stared into the night sky it lit up gold. It was exactly the same as last time. Well almost the same, the intensity of light was magnified. It was worse than looking into the sun, I had to cover both my eyes and crouch down, I couldn't look up.
STRUGGLE I'VE FINALLY GOTTEN SOME ENTERTAINMENT.
While I was kneeling down the ground started to quake. I had never been in an earth quake before but I figure this had to be a 5.0. Even with my body's strength I couldn't stand if I wanted, to the ground was almost bouncing me in the air.
HAHAHA
Luckily the elf building weren't collapsing, even with all the movement, the walls stayed the same and none of the trees in the mountain were falling over.
I had tested them out before, and they were almost as hard as steel after the apocalypse, so I wasn't that surprised that they would stand tall.
It was only 2 minutes later that everything finally settled down; my body had been thrown a few times from just the grounds movements.
What the h.e.l.l had that G.o.d b.l.o.o.d.y done? For the earth to shake like that, plus all the golden light that just came down, he really is messing with us now. Most people already had trouble dealing with the start.
I took a calming breath and calmed myself down, there was nothing I could do now, I had to get stronger.
I turned around and spotted Ella and Rose. Ella had a frown on her face as she was connected to my emotions, she had heard me talk about the d.a.m.n G.o.d before, but she had never seen what he was capable of.
She had a lot to think about.
Rose looked at the sky for a few seconds before turning to me.
"He was the one?"
I nodded my head solemnly. I had told her back when she had killed the elder about G.o.d. I wasn't certain that he had screwed up her world, but the likely hood was high. I knew it may be selfish to impose or create a revenge target for a person. Especially when that person was also my revenge target. It was almost like I was using her.
With her help, I was sure she would be useful in the final fight, but was I using her? I didn't think I was, I had seen her after the fight. She had no will to live; she had no goal that would guide her. She was comparatively pitiful, after everything that has happened to her.
When I had mentioned the G.o.d, I may have had an underlining meaning to get her on my side, but I truly didn't want her to die. She should live her life. We should all have lived a good life, but that G.o.d had changed everything.
I shook my head before my thoughts went further, I had to take things one step at a time.
Just as we were about to make our way into the house to catch sleep again, my eyes caught a blue glow that was coming from the middle of town. I stopped and turned in the direction. I hadn't seen that before.
Tilting my head and making my way over, I found the central pillar of the town. That's what I was calling them, like the town in the city, the elf town had a huge pillar right in the center. From that pillar, the blue light was showing.
Walking over I scrutinized where the blue light was coming from and couldn't see anything. I hesitated for only a second before moving my hand over it. It blinked once and a box appeared in my vision.
"That's interesting."
I turned away from the blue glow and walked back to the house, I would collect it tomorrow.
*******************
I woke up in the morning a bit stiff, being thrown around last night had tensed my muscles and they were recovering. I had ben pounced on by wolves, predators and zombies, and I had gotten stronger, but that earth quake last night, just throwing me in the air, had bruised my body. Thank G.o.d for regeneration I was able to recover quickly.
Though I had revaluated the scale, I would have rated it a 9.0 if there was such a thing, I never heard of one going over 7, but I was never the smartest person.
We had to spend the next 3 hours in the town before we could leave. Both Rose and I were good to go, but Ella had collected all the elf bodies. We couldn't take them with us, and even I realized that it would be such a waste to leave them. I decided we would start moving back to the city after 8 hours. That would put it around 2pm and we might just make it back.
If we didn't we could camp out again. It was almost a week since I had left the town; I wondered how the zombies had evolved.
Rose and I talked for a while as we were waiting. There were numerous bodies that were left and Ella's hunger never ended.
"Who's the amulet from?"
The words spilled from my mouth as Rose was next to me. She had s.p.a.ced out while we were talking and had pulled the amulet out. I had seen her stare at intently quite a lot. There was a lot of history behind it.
I think I used to be more tactful before the apocalypse, I wonder when that changed? I knew this was a personal question.
Rose started and looked over; she just noticed she had s.p.a.ced out. She gripped the amulet tightly and her eyes reddened. Even though it was such a personal question she still answered, she knew I wasn't being malicious in my questioning.
"It's my mothers. She got it from her mother, and she got it from here's."
Her voice was quite as she spoke. So this had been her great grandma's? I could understand why it would be sentimental. At least the elves hadn't taken it.
Seeing me quiet she continued.
"It's a family heirloom, which was the last thing she gave me. She said to always keep it. It was our family's legacy."
Her eyes had turned even redder, and I thought she might cry. I gently put my hand on her shoulder and said nothing. I had no words that could make her better right now. This was the last thing her mother gave her, it was that important to her.
I looked over at Ella who was eating, I had less aversion to looking at that now. She still had the small cloth wrapped over her arm. It was still in one piece. I found my own eyes turning a bit red, and quickly wiped away a speck of dust in them.
It took a few minutes before Rose calmed down and looked back up at me; she had a small smile on her face now.
"Thank you."
I shook my head.
"I have done nothing."
She shook hers.
"No you have helped me more than you know. Would you like to look at it?"
She held up the amulet to me slowly and I gently took a hold of it. I didn't want to drop it. It was intricately made and was a gold color. It looked beautiful and was a design I had never seen. It looked like a tree with large roots and a crown sitting on top.
I couldn't tell what it meant, but I was shocked when it was fully in my grasp. A blue box had appeared.
(??? (???) –???, Unlocked at level 50)
I was gob smacked; I had never seen a piece of gear like this before. It even slightly reminded me of the golden orb that had gotten rid of my cla.s.ses and made a new function. But this was a piece of gear. I couldn't tell the grade, but I had to guess it would be higher than purple, maybe orange, gold, I had no clue.
My hands shook as I looked at the amulet and I gulped loudly.
"It's beautiful."
They were the only words I could get out, without stuttering. I did feel a small amount of greed inside me that wanted to take the pendant, but I knew what this meant to Rose, I just couldn't.
"Could you lower your head for a second?"
I said that to her, and she didn't understand what I wanted for a second, then realization dawned on her face and her eyes became watery again.
She lowered her head and pulled her hair out of the way. I slowly unclasped the pendant string and put it around her neck, it was a perfect fit. After that was done she straightened her hair and looked back up at me. Her head was looking downwards where the amulet rested. It fit snugly on her chests and made her beauty even more stunning.
"Now it looks even better."
My heart felt word came out and she nodded to herself. She looked up at me and showed me her best smile yet. Not one tinged with grief, not one tainted by rage. It was a gorgeous smile that showed how happy she was.
"Thank you."
She moved in closer and gave me a hug. She held on tightly to my shoulders and I felt hers shake. My neck was slightly wet.
"Partner."
I let her hug me till she was satisfied.
We had a lot of time anyways.
