I looked back in irritation as we moved further and further into the mountain.

We didn't have a lot of time before it would get dark and Kuro wasn't keeping up with us. I was starting to think bringing her along was a big mistake. But every time I looked back and thought of killing her, my gut would tell me to keep her.

"What is taking so long?"

My voice was annoyed as I asked back at her. She was puffing for air as she tried to keep up with us. Both I and Ella stopped so that she could catch up. It took her a little while, but she caught up. I let out a sigh when I looked at her.

"Didn't you say you get extra attribute points when you pick up a cla.s.s? Why the h.e.l.l are you so slow, even at level 10?"

She gulped in some air before she could respond to me.

*Huff*

*Huff*

Finally getting enough air to her lungs she showed me an exasperated face as she began to talk.

"Yeah I said I got an extra 5 points per cla.s.s. Once when I became a Newb, then when I became a Warrior and finally when I got Weapon Master. But I put most of them in to STR and END. Not to say I didn't put some into AGI, but you guys are way too fast."

After spieling of about that she went back to gulping for air, as I thought about it again. Seeing as she had 3 cla.s.ses, Newb, Warrior and Weapon master I was guessing each would give her 5 extra attribute points per level.

I was still skeptical about where she got the Newb cla.s.s. The only level 0 cla.s.s I saw in town was the soldier cla.s.s. But she chalked it up to having come through the magic circle. Even then it was a bit weird.

But as she had the cla.s.s since level 0 she would have gotten 10 points for every level up to level 5 and then 15 points up to level 10.

That worked into 125 points she could have spent by the time she reached level 10. With a base of 10, to keep up with Ella and me, she would have to put 49 points into AGI before she could keep up with me. Not to mention Ella who still outstripped me.

How in the h.e.l.l was she distributing her points?

I gave a sigh in my head as I thought about all these matters, looking at the lowering sun; it was a better idea to set up camp for the night here. I looked around the area we were in, before finding a small area that we could use.

"We'll camp here for the night."

I declared that as I found the right place and Ella was a bit annoyed that we had wasted time waiting for Kuro.

"You can't expect meals to be as good as you."

I tried to placate her with this line, which sounded a bit weird coming out of my mouth, before promising her that we would hunt more beasts tomorrow. And we might even run into some elves.

At the mention of the new meal that she had been introduced to, Ella became happy about the thought and went off into her own world, with droll dripping down the side of her lips. She must have really liked them.

Preparing to set up camp, we were able to get everything settled before it truly became night. I was teaching Ella some important words and concepts, before we were scheduled to eat, when an idea hit me.

I usually put aside time for me to teach Ella things, such as words, meanings and mainly morality. I wanted her to have a good moral compa.s.s when she grew up. She looked like an adult right now, but she was still only around 2 weeks old at best.

With her INT it was actually pretty easy to get points across to her and she absorbed knowledge like a sponge. I think I might even have to take her to a library; I was having trouble teaching her everything at this point.

But I stopped this when a new idea came into my mind. I patted Ella on the head and told her some words about having dinner in a little while, before moving over to where Kuro was located. She had set up near a tree and was getting ready to lay down a sheet to sleep on.

The sheet had come from her original bag that she and Asura had shared. It didn't look too thick but had size, she would be able to wrap herself with it to keep warm. I wasn't a monster, when I had found the sheet I had given it to her.

I already had things for me and Ella, though I wouldn't share them, maybe some of the food. But not a lot.

"Kuro."

My voice surprised her as she almost jumped to her feet at my voice; I gave her a small smile as I stared into her Brown eyes.

"Show me your status."

She was bewildered at my sudden remark and had to chew on them for a few seconds before she responded.

"You can do that?"

I had thought about the first time Ella had ever shown me her status, way back in the hospital. I could even interact with it and allocate attribute points. I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, but now that I had, I could have a closer look at what skills and stats she had.

If she had been lying to me about her AGI stat, well that wouldn't end well for her. I could also gain some good information from the other skills that she possessed. I already knew that she was a Newb, Warrior and Weapon Master, from when I questioned her before. She had even told me that all the cla.s.ses had come with skills that could be used to help with fighting. She didn't go into too much detail, and I didn't really want to know them either.

I was first jealous that she had such skills and buffs, but once I thought of the fact that I had easily taken her out. My thoughts had changed and I didn't really care about them. I can at least confirm what she told me before with the skills she has.

Of course this was off the principle that I could look at her status, I had never really know if I could interact and look at Ella's status because of the fact that we were bound, or if it was just normal.

After thinking about the matter for a few seconds Kuro fiddled with the air in front of her for a few seconds, before a new screen appeared in my sight. I had been right.

She flipped her hand and it turned towards me. I had a look at it too see what I was dealing with.

Name: Boosted KuroNeko

Race: Human

s.e.x: Female

Age: 18

Cla.s.s: Newb, Warrior, Weapon Master

Level: 10 EXP (94560 - 400000)

Entertainment Points: 657

Attributes: (0 Points)

STR: 46 (48)

END: 53 (55)

INT: 20 (20)

AGI: 36 (38)

SPR: 25 (25)

LUK: 2 (2)

Skills:* (8 Points)

Gear:*

I was surprised for a second as I looked at the status. The overview, was a lot smaller than my own. Why the h.e.l.l did that happen?

Can you change the gear and skill settings so that they don't show, or is it her not showing me? I sent her a sharp look.

"Show me your skills."

She was once again startled and quickly flipped the status back to herself before clicking around a few more times. The screen expanded and I could see the skills that she possessed.

Skills: (8 Points)

(???)

(???)

(Warrior Toughness (Pa.s.sive) LV(Fixed) – The will of a warrior courses through your body. +1END every level.)

(Warrior Resolve (Pa.s.sive) LV(1 - 10) – In times of critical danger can push the body beyond its limits to preform feats of strength. 20% increase in strength when health reaches 10% or lower.)

(Mastery (Pa.s.sive) LV(Fixed) – You have embarked on the path of mastery. Mastery function unlocked.)

(Precision Strike (Active) - LV(1) – Focuses power into weapon to deliver a pin point stabbing strike. Increase weapon penetration and damage. 100% chance to crit)

(Weapon Mastery (Pa.s.sive) LV(1 - 10) – You are a person that can master every weapon, given enough time nothing will be outside your use. Increased familiarity with all standard weapons. 10% increase in strength and agility when wielding a weapon.)

So you could change the status screen.

I quickly pulled up my own status screen which took up quite a large chunk of my vision and quickly fiddled around with it. After a few minutes I was able to get both my and Ella's status to only show attributes and not the skill or gear. We knew what we had and wouldn't need to look at them.

Now the screen wouldn't block my view as much, especially when I leveled.

Figuring all that out and getting everything sorted I looked back at Kuro's status and noted down her attributes. They were lower than I expected and went with the story that she had told me. Her stats couldn't hold a candle to mine and explained how I was able to trounce her when we fought. Her INT was only at 20, meaning she hadn't put many points into it.

Her AGI was only 36, which would mean that the sped we would be going at tomorrow would be pretty slow. Well I could just teach Ella things while we went.

The real problem was the skills. I already knew about the ones visible. When Ella had been eating the female elf, I had asked her about the abilities that came with the cla.s.ses, and she had given me a brief description of them. Looking at them now, she had told the truth.

The problem were the, "???" skills.

"What are those?"

I pointed them out as I frowned at her. She panicked at the sudden question and tried to explain to me.

"I picked them up when I was transported from America."

She was very afraid and sweating hard as she tried to explain to me where they had come from. She hadn't told me about these skills when I was questioning her.

She said the first one was called 'Transported', supposedly it was a skill that let her into more building in the town, where she had gotten the health potions and magic potions.

The second skill was called 'Lucky', it was supposed to give 2 luck.

"Right."

I gazed at her silently as she spoke quickly trying to explain the 2 skills. I asked her to change them so I could see them. But she claimed that it was impossible. I gazed quietly into her eyes as I tried to ascertain if she was lying about this fact, but with how frantic she was. I don't think she could show them to me.

I had no such skills and couldn't check for myself, but I couldn't make any skills be non-viewable. This would mean she was telling the truth.

But she had lied.

I had questioned her before about this.

And she had lied.

*Sigh*

A sigh escaped my lips as I stood up in front of her; she had her head in a lowered position and was asking for forgiveness as I regarded her.

*Smack*

I raised my hand and hit her with my full strength. I gave her a viscous slap that sent her flying from the force.

"Argh!!"

She shouted in pain as I walked over to her now crumpled body. Her mouth was bleeding and I wouldn't be surprised if some of her teeth were missing. She had lied to me, so I would need to teach her a lesson.

I thought back to the amount of time I had spent questioning her beforehand and realized that I would have to ask her a lot more.

With that I then went on to beat her up for another half hour. Her bones were broken and snapped as I went to cause her pain. I didn't want to kill her though, and she retained her consciousness. After I was done with that, I then went on to question her for another 3 hours before I let her have a healing potion.

By the time she finally got it, her body was shaking badly and was pale from the loss of blood. I would ask her more questions at a later date, but I was hungry.

We had some leftover meat from a few beasts and Ella and I started to eat it. She was very hungry from waiting for so long so I gave her some extra. I didn't give any to Kuro and let her starve for the night.

Tonight because we had picked up Kuro, I decided to take the first night s.h.i.+ft and let the other 2 sleep. It was a quiet few hours that I was on watch, and no beasts attacked. When it was time for Ella to go and take the s.h.i.+ft, I went and fell asleep quickly.

I thought back to what happened today, and the new addition Kuro.

She had better stop lying to me, or even if my gut was telling me to keep her alive, I won't.

I closed my eyes and prepared to go to sleep.

My last thought were actually, how I felt about the fact I had just beaten up a woman.

Thinking back on it, did I feel repulsion, or disgust at what I was doing?

At that moment I couldn't remember.
