I stood there for a good 2 minutes staring at the lifeless eyes and the caved in head.

I finally stirred from my stupor as the staff in my hands dissapeared.

c.r.a.p!

Don't tell me, it's already unusable. What the h.e.l.l am I going to do now? I started to have a mental breakdown as I stared at the disappearing light. Before I started swearing, I noticed that the two bodies in the room had glowing orbs around them. There were 3 in total scattered around them.

I rushed over towards the closest. One of them had to be a weapon; I can't go on without one. I reached down praying so.

(Running boots (Grey) – Boots good enough to walk around in, but offer no protection against weapons. Minimal increase in agility +1 AGI. Special Effect: resizes to fit user)

Ok this will be useful, especially the +1 to agility. Even though it's a grey tier item, having a stat boost option is great. But I need a weapon.

I quickly took off my shoes, making sure not to step in the blood. Even though I'm somehow dealing with the fact I will be killing, standing in their blood is a bit much.

After putting them on, I didn't even have to do the laces, as it resized to my feet and couldn't slip off even if I tried. Wonder how I take them off?

As the thought popped into my head, they suddenly came off and reappeared besides me.

Holy h.e.l.l, what?

I once again popped them on and thought about them coming off, and it happened again.

Wait, if they come of when I think about them... At the next moment the shoes reappeared on my feet.

I was right. This will save me a lot of trouble.

Coming back from my wonder, I heard thudding sounds coming from outside, d.a.m.n there must be more of those things out there. I walked over to another globe and reached out.

(Strength gloves (Grey) – Gloves that will keep blood off your fingers, pretty good when a lot of things can infect you. Minimal increase in strength +1 STR. Special Effect: resizes to fit user)

Just like the boots they'll be useful.

Wait, what can get me infected?!?!?

My heart started to beat a mile a minute as my thoughts jumped all over the place and my anxiety rose rapidly.

No calm down, if I had been infected, I would have got a notification, probably. Or be feeling something by now, I'll double cheek when I open my status later. After that short freak out I quickly equipped the gloves and reached for the last globe.

Please be a weapon, please be a weapon.

(Normal Sword (White) – Metal sword, good enough to kill a normal infected but will dull after strenuous use. Sharp enough to cut skin and bone, but might require a few swings to fully do the job.)

Finally a weapon, and not a Grey tier, it's actually a White tier! I should be able to use this for quite a while.

It wasn't a complicated blade, and I couldn't tell if it was balanced properly, I had never held a dangerous weapon in my life. But judging by its weight, it should pack quite a wallop, and I'll be able to swing it easily.

With a weapon finally in my hands, I calmed down a little. Even though there were more infected out there, even if I got surprised, I would be able to do something.

After the first infected died, I remember the notification popping up telling me I had levelled, I had better distribute my points before I get going. With that thought I shouted "Status" in my head.

Name: Liam Coltear

Race: Human

s.e.x: Male

Age: 18

Level: 1 EXP ( 10 – 40 )

???: Not unlocked

Attributes: (5 Points)

STR: 10 (11)

END: 10 (10)

INT: 10 (10)

AGI: 11 (12)

SPR: 3 (3)

LUK: 1 (1)

Skills: (1 Points)

(a.n.a.lyze (Pa.s.sive))

Gear: (Beginner clothes (Grey))*

(Normal Sword (White))*

(Running boots (Grey))*

(Strength gloves (Grey))*

There was no description of what the Equipment did when I looked at them in the status screen. I was thankful for this. If it had shown all the information, the blue box would be many times longer. It already obstructed my vision badly. I could probably bring up the information by pressing the stars next to the names.

I had 5 attribute points that I could use, and 1 skill point, not that I had any yet. I quickly thought about the fight I just had and decided on what I wanted to get. I put 2 points in STR and AGI, I would need them later, so that I can run around these things, and I put the last point in END.

I had no clue what SPR and INT really changed, but for now, the other 3 were more important, and I couldn't take a risk on them.

After I put the points in, my stats now looked like this.

Name: Liam Coltear

Race: Human

s.e.x: Male

Age: 18

Level: 1 EXP ( 10 – 40 )

???: Not unlocked

Attributes: (0 Points)

STR: 12 (13)

END: 11 (11)

INT: 10 (10)

AGI: 13 (14)

SPR: 3 (3)

LUK: 1 (1)

Skills: (1 Points)

(a.n.a.lyze (Pa.s.sive))

Gear: (Beginner clothes (Grey))*

(Normal Sword (White))*

(Running boots (Grey))*

(Strength gloves (Grey))*

With that out of the way, I looked across to the EXP bar. As I had now reached level 1 it had changed. Now I had to get 40 EXP to reach level 2. So each level will require 4 times the amount before it?

I pondered that as I saw the 10 next to it. Each of the infected I've killed so far, have given 10 exp each?

Meaning 3 more and I'll level, then I can test how much it goes up by.

I closed the screen, and turned towards a side of the room. My mother's hospital bed was in that corner. Thankfully because the room was slightly big, no blood or any of that tar substance had touched the bed. I wanted it to stay nice and white.

I walked towards the bed and knelled before it, putting my sword on the ground next to me.

Tears started to acc.u.mulate in my eyes as I remembered the peaceful face of my mother's and all the memories I shared with her. She deserves a proper burial; I need a proper burial for her.

Next to my leg, the cloth that was used to wrap my baby sister, was quietly lying there. I reached towards it and slowly picked it up. Even though she wasn't in the world all that long and I didn't really get to spend any time with her. To take a child's body, and not give her a proper burial either, made my blood boil.

The tears receded as I stretched it out and wrapped it around my left arm, it may have just been a plain white cloth, but from now on, whenever I look at it, I will remember what my ultimate goal is. I made a promise to myself at that instant.

I would find that s.h.i.+tty G.o.d that's using me for entertainment, and get him to give me back their bodies. And even if he couldn't get their true bodies, replicas or anything that was real, would do. But even if he does that, I will still kill him no matter what.

Then I'll also go and find that other G.o.d, that lost the bet and our universe, and make him pay.

What they have done, is destroy more families than just mine.

I will definitely survive to see that day.

I didn't say a pray for my mother or sister, as I picked up my sword and stood. I wouldn't pray to them.

I turned around and walked towards the door.

I wouldn't be used for Entertainment

I Would Make Them Pay!
