It's the second day after I ran across the cannibals.

I had always liked the cold rage skill; it would make me think clearer when intense rage overcame me. But after what happened with the cannibals, I was slightly afraid of it. I don't think the description that was given truly encompa.s.sed what the skill actually did.

When I had first laid my eyes on the scene I had staggered from the stench, the gore before me, hit me harder than the neonatal unit. Then came the rage, it was so over powering I thought my mind might go blank. I sometimes wish my mind went blank at that minute.

As it gushed out my head chilled and tried to contain it, but even this failed to compensate, I felt a splitting headache before a box popped up in front of me.

(Cold Rage Leveled!)

(Cold Rage level 4!)

I couldn't concentrate on that at the time, as even with this message my rage surged up and overtook me. This continued on a few times as the splitting headache finally stopped. But by that point I felt like a different person

(Cold Rage Leveled!)

(Cold Rage Level 8!)

I could finally stand and look at the situation, I felt like I was having an out of body experience as I stared on. And when the people responsible came back, only seconds later, I instantly pinpointed them.

My rage felt like it was bottled up and frozen as I looked at them and then continued on to do the worst things my mind could think of.

They did deserve it in the end; I won't change my mind on that. I had lost almost all my faith in humanity as I saw that room. With the skill activated I had rationalized that not all people out there would be like them, but I wouldn't be able to trust a person anymore. h.e.l.l, till now I couldn't make a smile, not even a fake one.

Ella looked at me worriedly now and then, but I could only rea.s.sure her by patting her head.

The main problem with the increase in cold rage was the out of body experience, it sharpened everything that I felt when I tortured them, and it was engraved.

After they died and when the skill had finally started to subside I could remember ever minute detail, the terror in their eyes. I would rather have a berserk skill, just so I could lose myself and not remember everything.

Even after a full day I could feel coldness inside me, it wouldn't leave.

Having dealt with them; the day after I had been out of energy and wanted to curl myself in a ball and not do anything. I needed to rest my brain but I couldn't.

After the full nights rest I had awoken to a different Ella. She had grown again; she was now slightly taller than me and looked about 20 years old. It wasn't such a big jump as before but I wasn't sure if I could even call her a younger sister anymore, she easily looked older than me.

When she called me Father, it just didn't seem to fit at all. Her body was like that of a super model when I woke up, and her hair had grown even longer. Instead of just below her shoulders it was reaching for her lower back. Hopefully it's not a hindrance when she's fighting.

I thought about cutting it, but she was very against that, it was one of the only times she sent her refusal to me, so I let it be.

That's where the problem came in though, after having grown she was hungry and still wouldn't even try any of the normal food. We would have to continue clearing the floor to find something for her to eat.

I wasn't very into it, as I just wanted to rest, but I forced myself up. She was still wearing the blood stained combat dress from before. I had tried to wash the blood off our gear, after we ourselves had a bath, but it was no use. I couldn't even get a smidgen of the dried blood to disappear. There should have been some chemicals in the storage rooms that could handle it, but I had no clue which was which.

I did find bleach but that barely faded it.

Finally getting the gear on, we went to clear some rooms. We had to stop by the cannibals' room as we went down though; I thought I would be sickened by the sight of their corpses.

I wasn't.

I just stared at them for a good while as I collected their globes of exp. I needed to get stronger.

Crus.h.i.+ng them I finally found out their names. Jake, Nathan and Billy. I didn't know if I would forget those names one day, but I couldn't for now.

I got a grand total of 22 thousand Exp and quite a few entertainment points. They would have been pretty high level from killing all the survivors. I was surprisingly calm enough to spit on their corpses at this thought. They were sc.u.m.

Leaving them I turned to Ella that stood beside me.

"You don't want to eat what's in the room?"

I was probably too calm as I mentioned that d.a.m.n room, but after the other day, I found myself more calculative. I didn't want to do anything today, and it would be the best thing to feed Ella.

"No, I know Father doesn't want that."

She shook her head and gave me a gentle smile. I was surprised for a second before realizing what she was getting at. I patted her head and almost smiled at her, as I gave it one last glance. I couldn't see into it, but the image instantly popped into my mind.

I turned and walked away from it, I couldn't go near the entrance.

Throughout that whole day we only cleared 2 floors. We went slower than usual and only met about 15 zombies. We even made it back to the 8th floor.

It felt like weeks since the start of this thing. Nothing had moved on to the floor so I could skip it and go straight to the 7th. I stopped at my mother and sisters room on the way down and knelled in front of their bed.

I reaffirmed my determination as I knelled there, Ella joining me. And after I left the room, the final coldness that was residing inside me disappeared. It didn't mean I would smile, but it did take a stress of my mind.

We also visited the room where I first met Ella, the coc.o.o.n that she came from look so tiny compared to how she looked now. I gave her a few minutes as she stood in front of it and blank out. I didn't mind wasting the time.

Finally clearing out the 7th floor we returned to the top, I didn't want to do anything else for that day. And Ella had been fed. I spent some time with her trying to teach her things and new words.

It calmed me down to take it slow.

And so as the second day started I got myself ready. My gear was still tainted by blood and my mind was weary of the struggles I would face in the future.

My mind cooled down and I prepared to finish this d.a.m.n hospital, with only 6 floor left I figure I would be able to do it in 2 days, maybe 1 if we push it.

Looking to Ella that was next to me, she had finally stopped growing. Her height hadn't changed after the night, but her skin did look glossier, healthier.

We started walking towards the stairs.
