Jade looked down at the s.h.i.+nning pod that was placed in her room. It was sitting next to her bed and fit perfectly into her oversized room.

She had a big smile on her face as she traced her hand over the metallic surface. The smile continued to get bigger as she giggled to herself in a mischievous manner.

The smile hadn't left her face since she had convinced her sister Chloe to help move it into her room, next to her bed. She had said she just wanted it in her room because it looked cool, but deep down inside she had other plans.

Her smile hadn't gone away since it had been put in. The chance had come since her sister was having a newer one put in; it was a reward she got because of all her beta testing. Jade after devising her plan on how to get the pod and a few other plans to make sure no one found out she was going to use it.

She had convinced her parents that her school wanted her to study 4 hours a day to keep up with subjects. Even though that wasn't a lie, as her school really did want their students to do such a thing, it gave her an excuse to be in her room for extended periods of time.

She had stressed to them the fact she didn't want to be disturbed and told them she would usually lock the door. Of course she would have to do other things to make sure they didn't barge into her room while she was playing the game.

That would be thought of later. For now she was super happy that the first step in her plan went off without a hitch. Chloe thought nothing of helping her put the pod in her room. Her parents were also informed and persuaded that it would be fine.

You see the pod's that were used for the game, AGAE, were powered by a self sustaining power source. It was very advanced and no information about it was on the internet. By taking out the power source the pod wouldn't work even if someone wanted to try.

Her parents and Chloe were smart enough to know this and had taken it out as a precaution. What they didn't know was that Jade was one step ahead. They didn't know that at some point in the past Jade had seen one of her sisters PIN numbers and had a picture of her credit card.

From there it was a simple thing of ordering online and in short numbers. The sister she had stolen it from, Grace, was a shopaholic who spent loads of money every day. By making small orders that didn't go over 100 - 200$ Jade was able to buy small little things that she had her eye on without her sister finding out.

She had a good paying job, being 25 this year, one of the oldest and never really looked at her bank statements.

All Jade had to do was go onto the main website of the game, and order a power supply. It was a lot cheaper than the pod and just within her price range. Any higher than 200 and it would have raised a red flag that might have gotten her caught.

Having sent in her order the other day, she would easily get it before the game came out. All she had to do was make sure she got to the package before anyone found it. Mail was very accurate and would always get in on time. Being tracked by multiple systems Jade was able to keep track of the package.

It should arrive in the next 3 weeks. Once it did everything would be set.

Thinking that to herself she was giggling even harder, trying to suppress her inner joy. She was daydreaming by this point on what the game must be like. She had tried to interrogate her sister on what happened, but she would never talk.

Chloe had promised her that she would talk more about it after her trailer came out. By now her whole family knew, that Chloe would have a trailer come out, like the last 4. It was even coming out today!

And just as she was thinking of all this information and daydreaming, a nock came from her door.

Jade stumbled out of her stupor and dived into her bed, she couldn't show too much enthusiasm towards the pod.

Just as she dived into the bed the door was opened and Grace walked in. Standing at around 175cm she was wearing some designer clothes as she looked over at Jade. Who was nervous hoping her plan wouldn't be discovered.

'Grace wouldn't have come because she noticed something!?'

Her inner thoughts went wild as grace's voice sounded out.

"Come on Jade! We've got a family meeting, remember. Chlo's trailer is coming out today and father wants' everyone gathered."

Saying that she moved out of the door way and went down the corridor. Jade looked at her receding back, let out a pent up breath and patted herself on the back.

"Nice going! She knows nothing!"

Congratulating herself she bounded out of the bed and ran her hand over the pod once more, her silly smile returning. She kept that smile as she moved out of her room and down the stairs towards the dining room, skipping all the way.

She was getting excited to see her sister kick some b.u.t.t in the game!

**********************

Getting to the dining room Chloe stopped at the doors leading in. She reached up towards her chests were she felt a sort of phantom pain. It had been a few weeks now that she would feel it every now and then.

She couldn't put her finger on why, but the closer it came to her trailer coming out the more it came back. Every night now she would have dreams of the first time she died in game. Her chest would sometimes p.r.i.c.kle and she couldn't help but reach for it.

There wasn't much of a pain, but the memory got her heart beating. She could have easily blamed Liam for what was happening to her, but in the end she couldn't. She didn't know why, but she didn't want to push this on to him.

And usually as her thought drifted to Liam the pain feeling started to ebb and flow away.

Standing outside the dining room she calmed herself down before she walked in. Once again as she looked around she was the last to arrive. Her sisters were all in attendance and the monitor was set up.

Giving a nod towards each, she stopped slightly on the over excited Jade, who was looking at her with sparkling eyes. The excitement in them was overpowering, as she had to turn away and move closer to her parents.

In the back of her head she remembered that she promised to tell Jade more about the game after her trailer came out. She reached up and put her hand to her head, she felt a headache coming on.

Walking a bit she sat down 2 seats away from her parents. They gave her worried looks as they looked over. They had noticed how she was acting a bit strange lately and had even once spied her clutching her chest in the hallway.

They didn't want to confront their daughter about what was wrong right away, but they thought it had been getting worse. She was more withdrawn than usual. And it had all started after she played the game.

They wanted to watch what had happened to their daughter in the game, before possible talking to her and then getting her to open up. Hopefully the trailer would shed some light on what was happening. And if the trailer was to affirm their greatest worries, they weren't sure if they would allow her to continue playing the game.

They knew it might be hard if she became stubborn, but they only wanted the best for her.

They looked at each other seeing the worry in each other's eyes before the mother looked towards a daughter off to the side. She was sitting in front of a laptop and fiddling around.

That was their daughter Riley. She was the tech savvy person of the family and convinced them to upgrade all the technology in the house every year. She was setting up the video that had dropped in the last hour.

Once the father had found out that it was up, he had the family gather. Wiping the concerned expression from his face he looked at the rest of his family around the table. He didn't show any discontent that there were no boys in the family, though he would be lying if he said he wasn't slightly b.u.mmed out about the fact.

He kept his expression calm as he promised to himself for probably the 1millionth time, to never let anything happen to his wife and daughters.

There were a few conversations around the room as things were finally set up and everyone was ready to watch.

Before everything started the father looked at Chloe and spoke.

"Anything we should know before watching?"

Chloe heard the question and gave a weary smile.

"It's not as bad as it looks."

"What?"

The father gave her a questioning look, a frown starting to appeared.

"You'll understand."

That was her response as she looked dejected. Well she couldn't keep it hidden forever.

He frowned one more time before he nodded towards Riley. She gave a nod back and pressed play.

Everyone in the family was antic.i.p.ating what they were about to see. What did her last words mean? Did she play really badly in the beta test? That couldn't be possible; they would never give her a whole trailer if that was the case.

Some had doubts, some looked worried. Others were excited to see what was going to happen.

None of them expected what they were about to see.
