*Haaaaa*

I let out a deep breath and regained myself.

Where was I?

I couldn't remember.

The last thing that happened was me being next to father, and he gave me something really delicious.

And then…. Then...

My brain racked itself as I thought back. I had then felt hungry, the most I had ever felt, I needed to eat meals fast. And… yes! Meals were being so considerate, they were perfect. They let me eat them!

It was a paradise, I was eating to my heart's contentand I even found a new way of eating. By sucking out all their energy I was able taste everything I liked at the same time.

I reveled in my feelings for a bit longer as my mouth started to water.

After experiencing that bliss I looked at my surroundings.

Where was I?

I wasn't hungry anymore, I had had my fill.

Meals were piled up around me, but they were already eaten. Nothing good was left. Their bodies had caused a small mountain to form around me. I had to climb over it to get out.

Making my way over, I checked my surroundings. I was in the city and not in the town anymore. The broken buildings, cars and objects were littered about.

I hopped down from the pile of meals and walked over to one of the buildings. My body felt so powerful right now. I had never felt this good before in my life.

I walked over slowly as my hair dragged across the ground. It had grown longer. I had been at my waist before. But it now dragged along the ground, its silver color vibrant. I caught myself from getting too absorbed in my own hair color, as I walked up to one of the buildings.

It had a reflective surface and I could see myself walk over. The body was mine, but different. It was like when I was growing up, it had changed again. This hadn't happened in a while.

A woman with gorgeous looks and pale skin stood in front of me. She was taller than I remembered. Maybe a few centimeters taller. The eyes had gotten slightly bigger and the white irises stared back at me. They glowed quite prettily.

I raised my arm and looked at my tender skin and became happy. My arm was thinner than before, but it looked right. Such was the same as my body. It had thickened out a bit in the front and back. I think I was more mature like Rose, my father's other kin.

I froze.

Where's father?

I panicked, I couldn't feel him!

It was like that one time in the forest, I was completely cut off from him. I looked around in a panic and stopped looking at my new form. I had to find where the town was. I had to find father now!

I rushed off down a street and looked at the energy that was connected to both of us. It was still strong. I followed the string and it ledme to the town.

It was different from before, the walls were crumbled. The walls that had stood a good few meters tall had come apart and looked so brittle. Only short sections were the same as before.

Did I do this?

I couldn't remember that happening. I forced the thoughts out of my head, I had to reach father!

I jumped over some of the crumbled walls and made my way through the streets. The houses and buildings that had populated the area had become desolate. The meals strew about, sucked of all their energy, were everywhere.

I weaved my way through the desolate town until I reached a crumbled building. It was the Inn, its supports had crumbled around 2 glowing pods of light.

The pods glowed with weak light and the string I was looking at led right to them. One of the strings, which was fathers', led to the left one. I sprinted over with all my strength and touched the pod. I wanted to open it right now.

It should be alright?

I burst out with my strength to open it, but nothing happened. My hands that tried to dig into the surface weren't working. I punched it a few times but that didn't work either.

*Bam*

*Bam*

I slammed into it for over 10 minutes but nothing happened, I couldn't get it open!

My anger was going out of control and I felt my berserk rage start to kick in. If I didn't stop soon, I might lose myself. Father kept telling me to stop at this point. If I went out of control I might hurt him in my rage.

I balled my fists and forced myself to calm down, I was having a great deal of trouble, my anxiety was overpowering.

Just when I thought I couldn't hold myself back any longer, the glowing pod started to dim. The light that was coming out of the pod flickered repeatedly, before finally turning gray. The goldish light that it was emanating was gone.

But even after it had disappeared I couldn't feel him! I needed to see him, to make sure everything was fine! With the disappearance of the light I must be able to open it!

With renewed determination I used all my strength to grip onto the pod.

*Pop*

Unlike before the pod instantly crumbled under my strength and disappeared. I was surprised so much that I stumbled; I had used too much strength.

But I was happy that I stumbled, I was going grab myself before I fell. But with the popping of the pod I saw his body. It looked slightly different from before. My instincts told me that his body was better than any meal I had ever had.

But I wouldn't eat him!

Even though he would taste nice. I felt drool starting to gather.

Seeing his body I let myself fall into his embrace. His body felt a little colder than usual and there was no response from him. I nuzzled and hugged him with some strength but still nothing.

*Pop*

The second pod that was next to us also popped open. My other kin, Rose, stepped out. Her aura had also changed. I hadn't felt much hunger towards her when I had first met her, she didn't seem like a meal, it was weird.

But now that I looked at her, I could determine that she was a good meal. What I was feeling from her told me, she would taste good. My new way of eating craved for her energy.

But like father, I wouldn't eat her. I looked up from father and stared at her. Her hair had grown more vibrant and so had her body. Her skin looked glossier, but her body had shrunk. Unlike me, who had grown, she had shrunk.

Her chest and behind stayed the same, but her total height had dropped. That didn't impact her measure though. She was taller than father before, and she would still be taller than him after shrinking.

I looked into her eyes as she looked at me. They shook a bit as they looked at me, I couldn't tell what she was thinking. Her eyes turned from me to father, her eyes still undetermined.

I stopped concentrating on her and turned back to father. His eyes were open and they stared right up at me. But I couldn't see any recognition in them. I couldn't see the light that was usually present. They looked worse than that one time in the forest.

Does he always look like this when our connection is cut? Why can't I feel him even though we are so close?

I felt tears well up in my eyes as his vacant look seemed to stare right through me. I wasn't getting a good feeling from him.

"Father?"

I spoke out to him instead of trying to speak in our minds. It wasn't working before, and it wasn't working now.

"Father!"

"Father!!"

I screamed out to him, to try and get him to notice, me but nothing was happening. His eyes didn't shake.

What was happening? What was happening!!!!!!

My anxiety that had been gradually cooling down exploded out again.

"Help! What's wrong?!"

I shouted out towards Rose, she could help me right?

I looked at her and her eyes that were still shaking and thinking about something, focused on me. She grimaced before her expression smoothed out. She let out a sigh and then moved over. I didn't want to move over, but she had to look at him.

I moved off to the side but kept my hand holding his. He needed my warmth right now, it had worked before. But I couldn't tell if it would work again.

Rose stood over him with the same conflicted expression and didn't say anything. She bent down and looked into his eyes that were vacant and seemed to understand something.

I wanted to shout out for her to tell me what it was, but she beat me to the punch.

"We have to move him."

"Is he going to be alright?!"

She looked at me with sympathetic eyes.

"I'm not sure. The only thing that can help him is time."

My worried expression got even worse at her words, my hand gripping his getting tighter.

"Can you carry him?"

I nodded my head lightly.

"Good. I know where we have to go."

She stood up and started to walk off. I gently hugged his body as I picked his up gently. I cradled his body that had no power and followed behind her. She would stop every now and then and I realized I could feel her.

It was like what happened with father, I was now connected to her. I could feel her emotions that were turbulent and the sadness, as she looked at the destroyed buildings and meals. I couldn't understand why her emotions were all over the place every time she looked at a meal though.

It only happened with the small meals as well. It was something to think about later. I was too preoccupied with looking after father.

We made our way through the middle of town and she stopped to pick up a glowing orb that was where the steel used to be. I hadn't noticed it on my way back. It shone with a blue light. I was glad she picked it up, father always liked picking them up. Maybe it would make him happy, when he became better.

Soon we arrived at our destination. I remember that father wanted to visit here after I evolved. Thankfully it hadn't collapsed like some of the other buildings. I looked at the plaque that hung above the entrance.
