I shook my head again as I looked at this bow's details. I was surprised when I first asked to see it from Ella. She had handed it over and I thought my heart might explode, it was ridiculous.
No wonder it was a treasure to the elves. It was made from their precious world tree. Just this fact alone made it valuable and told people how strong it was. Not to mention it was a purple rank weapon. It was the same as the empress necklace and my storage ring, showing its might.
I wasn't too sure about the spirit arrow ability that came with it for a while. But I got Ella to try it. By focusing her fire skill into the bow it automatically created a fire shaped arrow. From what Ella said it wasn't too taxing and she would be able to fire many.
By focusing for longer on creating the arrow, it would gain ma.s.s and become more powerful. I didn't want to test the limits of what it could do in the forest, especially with fire, so I left it for now. But it was a good weapon to add to the a.r.s.enal.
I looked up from it and handed it back to Ella. We were running at our max speed and would reach the town soon. It had been a day since that G.o.d had talked again. We couldn't find our way back on the first day and wasted too much time in the morning.
So we set up camp for the night and finally caught sight of it in the morning. Elated to finally getting out of the forest, a smile almost touched my lips. But I didn't smile that much these days. But something felt different after that day. I just couldn't put my finger on it.
"Do you guys feel the same?"
I asked that to Rose and Ella, as we were running. I don't know what it was, but my body felt different after I woke up the other day. I couldn't determine the exact thing, but there was something off. It was unnerving, the feeling I had, that told me something was wrong, but I could do nothing about it.
Rose shook her head quietly and continued to run. I had noticed this after spending the day with her. She wasn't a talker; she would generally listen to people and speak only when necessary. I think it may have been something she was used to, after being a slave for such a long time. I tried to talk to her whenever I had the chance. It was better for her to fix such a habit.
Not that there was anything wrong with being quiet and attentive, I just thought that she should try to move on and overcome what had happened to her. She talked more with me the first day, when she was talking about her pendant, then any other time. She liked to keep conversations short.
Ella, who was next to her, tilted her head and thought for a second. I could vaguely feel her thoughts, I didn't generally pry into her mind to see them, I didn't like to know what others were thinking, unless we were in a battle situation.
She gave a small nod and spoke up.
"I don't feel different father. But when I look at you something does seem off. Something about your body…"
Her words ran along with what I was thinking, but I had checked, there was nothing different. I still had the scars from missing limbs, fights and even my birth mark. Nothing had changed since that night. We hadn't even been in a fight since.
On our way out of the forest we hadn't run into any animals. I wasn't complaining though, it was nice not to fight once in a while. I was worried about Ella for a while; she usually ate conspicuous amounts of beast and zombies a day. I was starting to get seriously worried the first day we found nothing. She may have eaten all the elves in the morning, but she would get hungry sooner or later.
We hadn't packed much meat after the elves, as we thought it wouldn't be a problem.
But something strange happened, she wasn't hungry. It was probably the first time since I had first picked up Ella that she wasn't hungry. She would always want to eat something, if she didn't eat in a certain amount of time, it would seriously affect her bodies' movements and mental faculties.
But it was true. I hadn't noticed it myself, but she always had a hunger inside her, I had thought about it the first time we were connected, that hunger that was all consuming inside her. I would feel it at all times, it was probably that reason that my mind had pushed it to the back of my head, even though it was always there. And when it stopped I hadn't noticed. But once she pointed it out and I was given that shock, I had noticed that I no longer felt that hunger.
Was it because of her evolution?
I couldn't be too sure as I hadn't come across this before and was no expert. But nothing else could explain it; not even eating all the elves could have gotten rid of her hunger for more than a day and a half. Which we had pa.s.sed in the last hour.
Some other evidence that supported this fact was her stats, it had barely moved. Whenever she ate anything she would usually gain stats depending how much she ate. But after eating all the elves, her stats moved in the single digits.
Her body just didn't need any more energy to evolve. Now all I need to do was get the Evolution serum and finally evolve her. Thought the next problem would be how I was supposed to evolve. I had no clue after using that golden globe. If it was like Ella, I would need a lot of energy to achieve it. But what would trigger it?
I would have to pa.s.s that bridge when I got to it. I sighed on the inside and we continued to make our way over. We were only 5 minutes away now from the city buildings. I could even see some zombies roaming about.
It was almost nostalgic seeing them after having to deal with beast and Elves for the last week.
The nostalgia only lasted for a second though as I looked at them. There were a lot more zombies on the outskirts of the city; it was time to see how much they had evolved.
Compared to the last time I saw them, they did look different. I stayed a safe distance away before sneaking into the city. I found it harder to make it out than to get in. Their numbers hadn't shot up, if anything I think they reduced.
I crouched behind a broken car as I looked at a slim being with razor sharp claws. Their face was deformed and elongated. They had sharp teeth that peeked from their mouth and a lanky body. Their claws were inches long and were close to reaching the ground.
Very different from the last time I saw them.
I used a.n.a.lyze.
Name: N/A

INT: 37
AGI: 78

Skills:
Infection (Innate) LV(Special Conditions) - User is infected with a virus that promotes growth and strength depending on the strain of the virus. Can infect others with virus strain. ??? . ??? .
Claws (Innate) LV(Special Conditions) – user has grown sharp claws to render attacks. Instead of gaining strength to attack, the claws are the main weapon used to kill prey. Great Slicing power.
Stalk (Innate) LV(Special Conditions) – User is adept at tracking prey. Once they lock onto a person's blood they can track you for miles.
So it was the evolution of the agility zombies. Well I should have known after seeing the claws. They were a lot more dangerous now. Their INT had shot up, and I couldn't tell if they had reached human levels of smarts yet. But they would be able to adapt quickly. I would have to finish the fight fast.
I really had nothing to worry about though. I was already level 20 and with me and Ella having skills that suppressed it, I wondered why I was being so cautions.
As soon as that thought hit my mind, I slapped myself. Ella and Rose looked at me weirdly, but I said nothing. I hadn't held back and a bruise would come to my face. I gripped my fist and looked down at the scars where I had lost 3 fingers.
I also slowly reached up to cover my purple eye. I knew exactly why I was being cautions.
I shouldn't ask stupid questions.
I pulled my blade and got ready.
