It was not as painful as she had expected. After a few loud 'bang's, the surrounding quietened down.

Long Xi looked up and saw that the golden eagles had all fled away. There was not a single trace of them.

A figure stood in front of her, unraveled by the wind. A look of worry flashed across his obsidian eyes.

Tears flooded Long Xi's eyes immediately. "Mo Kun..."

Mo Kun walked towards Long Xi as she sat on the ground and cried silently with her hair in a mess.

Mo Kun felt helpless at her current state.

He complained, "Do you want to die?"

"Um..." Long Xi did not know how to explain.

"You knew that those birds are ferocious golden eagles and do not go soft on their prey," lectured Mo Kun.

"Ooohhhh...." She did not know what to say, so she continued crying. She covered her face with her hands and sneaked a peek at him between her fingers.

"You would have gotten hurt for sure! You might even die! They could have brought you to mid-air and then dropped you to death!" Mo Kun's words were harsh, but his heart had softened. "This girl is so difficult to handle!"

"Ooohhh..." She decided to continue crying until he stopped being mad.

"Stop crying!" Mo Kun finally burst out. He was so angry.

Long Xi shut up instantly. She whined for a while and started sobbing softly.

"I'm... sorry," she said eventually.

Mo Kun replied, "Can't you say something else other than that..." He then stretched out his big hand and smoothened her beautiful long hair.

"I, I..." Long Xi did not know what to say. She sobbed silently while staring intensely at him with her sparkling clear eyes.

Mo Kun seemed to have been burnt by her gaze. He looked away and stretched out his hand towards her.

Long Xi looked at him and placed her hand in his without any hesitation.

She seemed to have not realized her whole-hearted trust in him. She had never felt this way towards someone that she had met just two days ago.

Mo Kun pulled her up and seemed to have overdone it. She lunged forward and almost fell into his embrace.

The two of them were extremely close to each other. They could hear each others' heartbeat.

Mo Kun lowered his head gradually and tried to move his lips closer to hers. There was now a 0.05 cm gap between their lips.

"Ah!" Long Xi seemed to have remembered something and squatted down immediately. She checked on the snow leopard's condition and was only relieved when she saw that it was still breathing.

Mo Kun felt extremely awkward at his futile attempt!

The determination of the snow leopard to protect the dead body of its fellow species with its whole life flashed across Long Xi's mind and her eyes started to get blurry again. This affection that remained untold found a place at the bottom of Long Xi's heart. It came and went, as much as it rose and sank.

Life came like a beautiful flower being carried in the wind. Yet it pa.s.sed as quickly as a firework show.

Long Xi's heart was so pure that she would interpret a disaster as painfully beautiful.

Mo Kun looked at Long Xi's blurred and tearful eyes and his heart became as soft as cotton. Unknowingly, he stretched out his hand and caressed her head.

Feeling his gentle touch, her slightly trembling body calmed down gradually.

"Let's go," he said. His hoa.r.s.e voice seemed to have softened his stiff emotions that he was trained to have since young.

"Wait, "Long Xi said with a tint of request. She knelt onto the ground, took out a small shovel from her backpack and started digging a big hole in front of the snow leopard who was already dead. She did not care about the wound on her hand that was turning purple.

She carried the alive snow leopard away and although it opened its mouth angrily, it did not proceed to bite her.

She lifted the dead snow leopard and planted a small kiss on its forehead before gently placing it into the hole and covering it with mud.

"May Buddha bless you." Long Xi prayed softly with her palms pressed together. Mo Kun heard her prayer.

The snow leopard who watched the whole scene from aside shed a tear. Long Xi's heart ached and hugged it.

The snow leopard seemed to be very compa.s.sionate. After Long Xi protected it with her body, it had never attacked her.

"Let's go." Mo Kun did not say much.

Long Xi followed behind Mo Kun while carrying the snow leopard in her arms.

She had difficulty walking, as the snow leopard was already an adult and was quite heavy. Luckily, she usually trained her arms using dumbbells and punching bags. Hence, her arms were quite strong. If not, she could not have held it more than while.

Mo Kun did not expect Long Xi to carry it and not release it into the wild.

Mo Kun knew for sure that because of the snow leopard's disability, it would soon be unable to run quickly and catch its prey, which would then lead to it starving to death. This predestined tragedy would definitely break Long Xi's heart. However, he did not interfere.

Based on Mo Kun's personality, he would definitely not meddle with others' business, especially people from Earth.

And as for Long Xi, she was making a huge decision. No matter what, she wanted to help this disabled snow leopard to live.

Long Xi held it tightly in her arms and followed closely behind Mo Kun. They navigated through the dense white fog and made it out of the complicated and dangerous zone.

Long Xi sighed with relief. She would definitely not believe what just happened, if not for the injured snow leopard in her arms.

"Mo Kun." Long Xi called out to the figure that had been walking silently in front of her.

"What's wrong?" Mo Kun did not stop walking, nor did he turn back.

For a very long, she had gotten used to being mentally strong. She had this habit of not causing trouble for others.

But now... she was asking for his help!

"Can I raise it in the meantime?" Her heart was filled with sorrow and she looked towards him with pleading eyes, hoping to move him with her burning gaze.

"Are you sure you want to do this? You can do it if you want; what has it got to do with me?" Mo Kun said.

"Oh, alright." Long Xi pouted her little mouth, carefully held the snow leopard in her arms and continued following him while staring at his back in silence.

She complained to herself, "Hmph! Not kind at all! No compa.s.sion at all! I'll draw a circle and curse you!"

It was a pity that Mo Kun seemed to be unable to feel her resentment. He never turned back once.

However, just as she was still gritting her teeth silently, Mo Kun suddenly turned around and brought up a good suggestion. "Actually, I have an elixir that can heal."

"Oh, yes, I can't believe I forgot about it. You're Superman!" Long Xi was overjoyed and completely forgot that she was just cursing him one moment ago.

"Superman? Oh, of course! I'm Superman! But I'm also a genius scientist. Because I often get injured, I invented this medicine to protect myself. It can accelerate the metabolism of the wound by multifold. I'm planning to open an invention company in the future and this can be one of the products. I once said that the petals of the Thousand-petal Gu Sheng flower can be used to create a magical ointment. This was what I was talking about, "Mo Kun said plainly.
