_The above fac-simile of the last verse written by Mr. Whittier, is kindly loaned us by the "Boston Journal." The following letter was sent with the verse_:
HAMPTON FALLS, _August_.
DEAR MR. WINGATE:
I have only time and strength to write a single verse expressive of my love and admiration of my dear old friend, Dr. Holmes.
