“Oh? Isn’t this Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan? It's been quite a while but you still look the same?”

Li Jiayu's gaze flickered with a faint ripple. An intolerable agitation was spreading gradually through his heart.

‘Fan Haiqiang?’

‘This shameless old dog!’

‘The heavens really treat you well. To think that you'd be sent to my doorstep... If I don’t take good care of you, how would I live up to the grace you've showered me with in the previous life?!'

“You students came at the right time! Obstruct the insect for me! I'll go get some reinforcements!"

Fan Haiqiang said after taking notice of Li Jiayu and crew standing coincidentally by the corridor. At first, before his mind had settled, he was taken aback by Li Jiayu's bizarre appearance. Flaunting his authority as the vice-princ.i.p.al, he had solemnly issued the order to Li Jiayu.

He was, in fact, well aware that, during these crucial times, no matter foolish the students were, they would definitely not remain behind to help obstruct the battle.

No matter what, Fan Haiqiang still wished to give it a shot. After all, there was no shortage of idiots in the university.  All he needed to do was bewitch them and there was a 20% probability they would be willing victims, shedding their young blood!

‘A 20 percent probability… En, that’s pretty good…’

‘If the youngsters before me are all hot-blooded juveniles, then... Granting their wishes to “risk their lives to protect their beloved, great vice-princ.i.p.al” should count as an honour. In this era, students who would abandon themselves for another were worthy of praise!’

Li Jiayu's face was plastered with righteous expression as he declared,

“Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan, there’s no need to be afraid. Aren't they just mere worms? With me around, there's nothing to terrified of. They won’t be able to harm you!"

“Jiayu… This…”

Sun Weiwei muttered softly, puzzled at Li Jiayu's bizarre change... Based on her knowledge, Li Jiayu was definitely not an amiable person. Furthermore, Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan Haiqiang had just committed such a grotesque and selfish act... This kind of lowlife, was he really worth saving?

‘Perhaps... Li Jiayu really was a foolishly kind-natured person?’

“Okay! I shall leave this to you lot. I’m heading off first, be careful!”

Fan Haiqiang nodded in a somewhat dignified manner before breaking out into a sprint. In fact, the moment he started running, Fan Haiqiang muttered inwardly,

‘From when did Xijiang University have a student with white hair. Also, he looks so bewitching, I almost mistook him for a woman... There’s that huge octopus as well... What in the world is going on? Aish, I'm can't be bothered with them. Escaping takes priority.’

“Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan, why are you in such a hurry? Won't you stay and admire how I'm going to gallantly slay these enemies? It would be rather boring without Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan as an audience…”

Li Jiayu broke out in a guffaw. With Frost Moon in his grasp, he stood in Fan Haiqiang's path and made this "virtuous" vice-princ.i.p.al freeze in his tracks. The vice-princ.i.p.al’s chubby face trembled as he glared at Li Jiayu.

"Don't obstruct my way! I have to be present on the 13th floor to command the students on how to resist the worms! Without me, they’re akin to a pile of scattered sand without any clue on how to deal with the situation!

“Just stay behind and obediently restrain the insect. Once the ordeal is over, I'll fight for a place for your “Model Student” award!”

“Model student? What an incredible award, should I squeeze out a couple of tears in gratefulness?"

There was an attractive and charming smile plastered on Li Jiayu's face. With a smile hung on that fair and delicate face of his, he had a very cheerful vibe. However, underneath the smile, a storm was brewing - a billowing wind howled and wailed while torrential rainstorm lashed down mercilessly!

At this moment, the Crimson Crowned Beetle was done gnawing at the department chairman’s brains and inadvertently s.h.i.+fted its attention toward Fan Haiqiang who had meat all over his body.

Emitting a screech, it pounced over aggressively!

“f.u.c.k! Get lost! This vice-princ.i.p.al has no time to squander with you lot!”

Fan Haiqiang’s expression changed abruptly. There wasn’t any more time to flaunt his authority.

Instantly, he reached out to push Frost Moon aside but as soon as his fingers came into contact with the cold blade, a wave of numbness surged over his palm!

First came an agony from the chill that seeped into the depths of his bones and afterwards, all sensation was lost. He then realised that his entire palm had been frozen over!

“I already told you not to panic. Why did you not listen?”

Li Jiayu scoffed as his leg lashed out like a whip, sending Fan Haiqiang cras.h.i.+ng into the stairway railing two meters away!

Thump!

The huge impact resounded thunderously! Fan Haiqiang's spectacles had long since been flung off his face and the intense pain caused the whites of his eyes to appear while his organs churned like the seas and rivers.

Li Jiayu, who was under Frost Moon’s “two-fold strength” buff, had attained an exceptional boost to his overall strength. Coupled with the fact that he had accurately kicked Fan Haiqiang in the waist, he had inevitably inflicted great harm upon Fan Haiqiang. It was to the extent that his internal organs had a high possibility of being heavily wounded.

At the same time, the Crimson Crowned Beetle scuttled out the stairway like a freight train which charged and bashed about without regard!

Except for Li Jiayu, everyone present felt intimidated by the sheer momentum of its bloodied figure! In their sights was a body that was several sizes larger than a spanish bull with intertwining bold-colored intestines that decorated its lethal horn!

Subconsciously, the people present had an urge to turn around to flee from the monstrous abomination!

“Retreat! Find a safe spot to hide!”

Handing Hua Xiaolu over to Han Xiaoqi, Li Jiayu yelled before leaping into the battle and rus.h.i.+ng fearlessly toward the Crimson Crowned Beetle with a howl.

"Octopus! I'll go first, look for an opportunity to suppress it! Understood?"

"Understood... I... will... do it w-well... Its... brain must be... tasty..."

Face to face with an enormous monster that would render any person to prostrate in fear, Li Jiayu did not feel the slightest of fear, nor was there any need for fear!

This all stemmed from his previous life where he had countless battles with Crimson Crowned Beetles. Way before Li Jiayu had trodden on the path of an apprentice summoner, Li Jiayu used his body to combat over tens of Crimson Crowned Beetles to the extent that Crimson Crowned Beetles became a mere side-dish in his eyes.

Its attack patterns, mannerisms, weak and blind spots, strength and speed, Li Jiayu had them all firmly grasped within his palm! Similar to a video game, the first time an individual battles against a high-levelled enemy boss would inevitably be arduous.

However, after continuing to fight it several times, tens of times, hundreds of times, you would begin to realize that the boss, which seemed imposing in the past, was in actual fact, a live practice target!

When the Crimson Crowned Beetle lurched forward, it relied on its trusty horn to strike its enemies. One would only needs to observe its horn to predict the direction of the attack and avoid it!

In a mere half-second, both Li Jiayu and the Crimson Crowned Beetle had entered each other’s range! Due to its crudely heavy body, it was imminent that its speed fared significantly worse to a Scythe Beetle.

Hence, Li Jiayu grasped the opportune moment when it charged towards him to roll onto the ground. Not only did he manage to avoid the fatal blow, Li Jiayu also managed to get to its left flank!

Shua!

Li Jiayu hacked away at the Crimson Crowned Beetle's leg. Immediately, a long wound ran along its leg and exposed the tender white flesh beneath!

Despite its unsightly exterior, its flesh was surprisingly considered as a delicacy amongst humans! Both its texture and quality were top-notch and far exceeded that of salmons. This was especially true when roasted. Sprinkle a little c.u.min powder and the oily fragrance would waft in all directions - truly delicious to no ends.

'Ugh... This isn't the time to be thinking about food! The Crimson Crowned Beetle is still a great threat. I should focus! d.a.m.n it! How hard is its carapace? To think I couldn’t amputate its leg with a single hack...'

The Crimson Crowned Beetle which had suffered a loss suddenly flared up. Its vision was completely red and only one thought existed in its mind: to rip this human that dared harm it into shreds!

It quickly turned around and targeted Li Jiayu once again while its forelegs, spanning at least 2-3 meters long, spread outwards and barricaded Li Jiayu in the center!

Unfortunately, this was all of no use.

Like an eel, Li Jiayu evaded all of the Crimson Crowned Beetle's attacks by a hair’s breadth whilst countering with his sword. Within this short span of time, the Crimson Crowned Beetle had already been inflicted with countless wounds!

After seven to eight seconds had pa.s.sed, the Crimson Crowned Beetle's body, abdomen and legs were all riddled with innumerable injuries. The frost had finally permeated into its flesh and blood, wrecking the veins, arteries and nerves until the Crimson Crowned Beetle had lost all sensation as though it was no longer in control of its own body!

During this time, Dark Octopus finally sought its chance and struck! It's nine tentacles weren't insignificant decorations but lethal weapons. ‘Swoop!’, it wrapped and coiled tightly around Crimson Crowned Beetle's horn!

Filled with anger and shock, the Crimson Crowned Beetle struggled with all its might. It possessed strength which was considered to be in the top ten within the ranks of the High First Tier insects and was most certainly impressive. Even though Dark Octopus had clung to it desperately, it almost allowed its target to escape.

Despite that, it was more than Li Jiayu could ask for!

Because Li Jiayu had arrived behind the Crimson Crowned Beetle!

Located on its thigh’s lower extremity was a white-colored soft tissue and that was its weakness!

“Die!”

Frost Moon drew a streak of cold light that resembled a crescent and it struck directly at the Crimson Crowned Beetle's weakness! The sword energy was condensed and it actually lopped off the rear end of the Crimson Crowned Beetle which soon spewed green liquid!

Gu!

The Crimson Crowned Beetle emitted a sorrowful screech. Its lower-extremity was actually where the ovary was located!

As its lower-extremity was filled with nerves, the instant it was hacked, the pain almost took away its consciousness! Apart from this, that body-part was its reliance to maintain its balance and once it was gone, the crudely enormous stature would fall over with a gust of the wind!

The immense pain sent it into a crazed struggle. It only took a while before it broke out of Dark Octopus’s grasp. As it was prepared to turn around, it seemed to have used an inappropriate amount of strength and hence, lost its balance then fell on the ground!

Li Jiayu pursued it relentlessly and stabbed ferociously at the bowl-sized wound on its lower-extremity!

"Guuuu!!!"

The Crimson Crowned Beetle's figure shuddered before emitting a sorrowful screech that rattled the railings of the stairs. However, Li Jiayu remained unfazed as he yanked Frost Moon out from the Crimson Crowned Beetle’s wound which then immediately froze over!

Being removed of pain did not allow the Crimson Crowned Beetle to feel any relief because it knew... It knew that its lower body’s nerves and veins were probably destroyed by the ice...

Li Jiayu stomped his foot on the ground next to the Crimson Crowned Beetle's large head, then flashed a slight smile which revealed two rows of pearly white teeth,

“My dear, I shall accept your Insect Core. I will pray for your smooth journey, so I won’t bother sending you off!”

As his voice fell, Frost Moon had already been lodged into the Crimson Crowned Beetle’s jaws. Li Jiayu ruthlessly stirred the sword and thoroughly wrecked the oral cavity of the Crimson Crowned Beetle!

Its oral cavity was relatively fragile. Frost energy spread along its tender flesh and crept towards the brain. In less than three seconds, the Crimson Crowned Beetle could no longer emit any sounds because its brain had already been paralyzed!

After finis.h.i.+ng with the Crimson Crowned Beetle, Li Jiayu sneered before ushering Dark Octopus,

“What are you dilly-dallying for, hurry up and eat your lunch… Remember to retrieve the Insect Core. I need to greet of our beloved Vice-Princ.i.p.al Mister Fan Haiqiang…”

Saying that, Li Jiayu strode over to Fan Haiqiang. Before Fan Haiqiang's widened eyes, he crouched down and chuckled,

“Vice-Princ.i.p.al, the worm had been dealt with. Shouldn’t you hand over my model student award?”

It was at that moment that Fan Haiqiang snapped out from the extreme state of shock. He gazed at the approaching fair-faced, white-haired student and was completely speechless…

‘d.a.m.n, such a terrifying Crimson Crowned Beetle and it was dealt with so easily by him?’

‘Too strong, terrifyingly strong!’

‘This white-haired student, could he be superman?’

‘With his help, maybe… Just maybe, we’d have a chance at making it through this crisis until support from the military arrives?’

“Ugh… This student, your reward… I’ll definitely give it to you after we’ve survived this ordeal. I will personally request it from the state and make you into a model student for the entire country…”

Fan Haiqiang was sweating bullets as he spoke painstakingly. The pain in his abdomen caused him to become more obedient, so he did not dare flaunt his authority before Li Jiayu,

“This student… I am really grateful to you for saving me… Uh, my tone was a little harsh earlier and that may have infuriated you… However, you should not place such a heavy hand on me, your vice-princ.i.p.al. You see… my abdomen is injured but I do not blame you, a young hero should be like this. I only request that you help me to the 13th floor. The students there need me…”

The corners of Li Jiayu's lips curled up slightly as he spoke in an unhurried manner without a tinge of ridicule and instead with dead earnestness,

“Oh? Do they need you? Isn’t that too much of a stretch? If Vice-Princ.i.p.al Fan sacrifices himself and remains here... Like buddha who fed an eagle his own flesh, you should use your fat meat to satisfy the hunger of the worms. Maybe that will earn you a little bit of contribution…”

Fan Haiqiang shuddered. Li Jiayu’s words caused him to feel as though he had fallen into the depths of an abyss! He stared dead fixated on Li Jiayu’s figure and with uttered trembling lips,

“Y-You… What are you talking about? D-Don’t joke around, I am the vice-princ.i.p.al! I am the leader of the school. With me around, the flag will never fall… Aiyooo… My stomach…”

“Yes, your stomach can’t seem to give you a satisfying death. How about I add something to help you?”

Li Jiayu's words were laced with a layer of chill, so much so that it felt like the chill came from the depths of h.e.l.l. There was no longer a smile on his face. What had taken its place was a contorted grin that resembled a demon’s smile. His murderous aura was unleashed like a sword that had left its scabbard!

Shua!

Li Jiayu tightened his grasp on Frost Moon’s handle while Fan Haiqiang felt a chill sweep past his lower half right before he saw blood droplets freezing in mid-air… Amidst the blood splatters, there was also his third leg!

Fan Haiqiang was stunned for a few seconds before he broke into a heart-wrenching growl that echoed throughout half of the school building!
