Chapter 865: Chapter 863-I Won't Fall.
The answer to my question didn't arrive quickly because they didn't even understand the fact that this was a bit excessive. But even then, while the more mature adults could keep their heads cool, the relatively younger Orik had a shorter fuse.
"We could have made this all very public! And we did this to your liking, and yet you dare spout such words! Who do you think you are?!"
His hammer hit the ground again with fierce power, but I didn't back down from it. My eyes only grew even more narrow at his words as I looked at King Tharvin. Even his arrogance is a little high on his mind, and he has the right to be. In all aspects of how this is seen, he was being extremely respectful in a sense,
especially coming from the one who shall be deciding the flow of this world's future. With war on the horizon, the one that controls the flow of weapons will be the realm king, and Tharvin knows it, which has bloated his ego and driven him to another level. The usual calmness had faded, and what I saw in his eyes was the same drive of greed seen everywhere else.
'Guess with having all those powers bow at you for weapons it has changed your flow of where you stand.'
As I thought of this, I smirked, my gaze meeting that of this king, one who seems to know deeper into what the world is heading toward, both at the kingdom level and the organisational levels. My eyes then trailed toward Valdris, who kept acting as if everything was normal but was the one with more mixed feelings than anyone in this place.
My hand went forth to lightly rub at my head, but the king did not answer back to my words. It, in a way, subtly implied the fact that I am indeed not that high enough and that I am indeed lowly. My chuckle left my mouth as the king spoke.
"If it was your master, it would be another issue. If it was your grandfather, it would be another issue. But for a youngster like you, we have given enough respect. It is you who has come as a guest that can't seem to curb your own arrogance."
King Tharvin spoke with a quite charming voice that seemed to thrive with knowledge. The only reason he hasn't blasted open in anger to imprison me is because of the fact that his lovely daughter might be in love with me and also the fact that I might perhaps become his son-in-law. The same thing is the reason the prince is also holding back more of his actions. "Haaaaa... this is annoying."
I spoke finally, looking through them all. In the minds of the king and the prince, they are being the best they can be, and if I seemingly show any more with my acts, it would seem that they wouldn't be any more malleable than this.
"We took time off our precious duties to come and meet at this. You better take a seat back before this whole meeting changes."
The king commanded as I turned to look at Valdris, my expression having turned calm as I asked,
"Is this how the one that saved your daughter is treated?"
Valdris flinched a bit at my words, her expression seemingly breaking for a moment, after which she calmly uttered,
"It's because of all you have done that you were brought with such respect here."
Her words seemingly tried to be professional, but the small flick in her eyes, the way her cheeks scrunched up for a moment, and my sense picking up the fact that she held her knuckles tightly together when she went against me showed that she didn't want to be against me at all. Even going against me was something she wasn't coming to like at all.
'She is desperately fighting reason against emotions.'
I inwardly shook myself at that display, knowing that in the end, emotions would be the one to win. It always does. And when it does, she will be the one writhing in guilt and despair over what she is doing. Thus, finally, I looked back at the king, my expression had turned much more tamed as I, with a smile, turned around and walked away.
This is a very disrespectful action that will no doubt p.i.s.s him off. If it was any other time, I would have taken another approach. But if I want this spectator of a woman to finally take some action, then I need to take drastic measures as well. None of this is any unplanned action. I didn't spend the last night simply travelling and looking through the skies. No, I spent the last night understanding in depth how these two under the control of the bloodlines are. Spending time and my senses in-depth, fully understanding the minds and workings of these two women and how they would react and can be controlled as well. I also went out of my way to learn everything about the rest too.
Thus, this situation now that is happening isn't a surprise at all. Among the several scenarios that I had planned, this being one of them, and for me to get the best of the situation, I would need to give some pushes here and there to get the final picture.
"It was nice meeting you all."
I waved my hand to the back in one final disrespectful move as I made it toward the doors. With my senses, I picked up the fact that all four of them were stunned by this move of mine, and it took them a second before the reaction came to be.
"YOU DARE?!"
It wasn't a shout but more of a controlled power declaration, which hit me right in the head as I seemingly lost my focus for a moment. The second it happened, a powerful wave broke apart from behind, seemingly trying to hit me. My body was pushed forward, the pressure trying to bend me to my knees, yet I fought against it, holding on, using every ounce of my power to fight against the power that was being pushed onto me.
My knees trembled, my back hunched up, small pools of blood started to s.h.i.+mmer down my ears and eyes, a single line also leaking from my mouth as I, with my back to them, fought against this unjust pressure. My stance shocked all of them as I fought against this power, showing my will and supreme desire not to fall here, seemingly going against the very norms of what they could understand.
"I... urgh!... will... mrgh!... wo-won't fall... here."
I muttered through my gritted teeth, and it was this final straw of my voice filled with pain that broke the last restraints from the mind of Valdris.
"Enough!"
She shouted as her aura, at the peak of Origin Level 10, came blasting forth, fighting against the aura of the king's, pus.h.i.+ng it back with ease as my body finally got a sense of balance. My gaze was filled with blood, my body wobbling as I, with one final strength in me, turned around back. Even with nothing left in me in strength, I looked at the king.
The man flinched at my expression. My pure will filled the room, and it shocked them, seeing it be used at my level, being something way beyond them. Yet, it existed in me. They were seeing one of the few rare happenings in the world. But that wasn't it. My will, untempered and more powerful than what they could, now pushed down into the room, making all four of them flinch.
I didn't just give them the will. My eyes, seemingly reddened, stood with strength and valour, gazing deep into the eyes of the king. For a moment, I saw a single line of sweat form on his forehead. My will tingled and twisted around the place, the whole world seemingly turning dark and hollow behind me.
My trembling hands raised for a moment, pointing at the king. None of them could say a word. It seemed their breath even came to a halt as I, pointing at the king, spoke with an
arrogant voice.
"I won."
And with that, all the strength seemingly slipped away from me as I started to fall forward. The moment before I hit the ground, I felt a soft body coming to hold me, keeping me in place, the hands being soft yet hard at the same time, while a sweet scent filled my nose,
travelling to my brain.
"You..."
Was the word of Valdris I heard in my ears as she held my weakened body, no doubt very
injured.
"A beautiful scent..."
I seemingly whispered into Valdris's ears as I lost my consciousness, leaving the whole place
in a state of disarray.
'Looks like phase one of this plan is set.'
I mused, laying in the comfortable hold of Valdris, having made the whole situation tense. Now, I plan to rest and watch as everything unfolds in a beautiful manner.
