Chapter 68: The Wicked Heidi

This was interesting, very interesting.

Heidi's eyes glistened like a gem as she kept looking around as if she had found something extremely interesting, a new excitement.

She moved her hands down further down Monn's chest and adjusted her position in his arm, misleading Ace to think that Monn was embracing her.

She then buried her burgundy curly hair into his embrace and said coquettishly, “Dear Cardinal, it was all thanks to you for saving me from the hooligans earlier. Otherwise, I would have fallen into their hands.”

“What?”

Was she sick in her head?

Boom!

The spot Ace was standing collapsed, and the aura she emitted sent the debris and stones flying. But she was still sane as she sent the debris and the stones away from the pedestrians. The debris and the stones. .h.i.t a nearby wall and fell to the ground.

But she intentionally directed most of the debris and stones towards Heidi, as they crashed inches from Heidi's dainty little feet.

Boom! Boom!

The sudden attack frightened Heidi, and she tightened her grip around Monn instead of sending her scurrying away.

Monn felt her soft body pressed against his as she embraced him tighter. He had no other thoughts other than being confused over the behaviors of the two women. Had they lost their mind?

Ace couldn't accept what she was witnessing. She had her eyes on Monn first. She hadn't even been in his embrace yet. And this wh*re from nowhere took him from her?

She steadily stepped towards Heidi and Monn, then reached out towards Heidi's neck and grabbed her from the back, as if she was holding a cat, trying to yank her away from Monn.

But Heidi latched on to Monn, clinging tightly to his body, refusing to let go.

Even if she was no match to Ace in physical strength, she was still a vigorous young woman. She certainly wouldn't allow herself to be defeated by a nun in a fight over a man.

Heidi tightened her embrace on Monn and turned her head towards Ace to throw her a taunting glance.

The expression on Ace's face darkened. She raised the Holy Sword in her hand and aimed for Heidi's arms around Monn.

Her action caught Heidi by surprise. She definitely did not expect a Saintess to act in such a manner over a man. She hurriedly let go of Monn and moved away.

Ace immediately pulled Monn to her side as soon as she saw Heidi letting go of him and warned him, “Monn, you'd better stay away from this woman. She is the most unreasonable person in the Capital.”

Heidi, who had moved aside, immediately threw herself at Monn when she saw Ace making up stories about her. She put on an adorable face and charmingly said to Monn, “Says who? Cardinal had just saved a weak woman like me from the hooligans. My dear Cardinal, don't listen to the nonsense from this crazy woman.”

Monn, who was aware that he was being pulled into the battle between the two women, calmly excused himself. “It's getting late. I'll need to get little Elma. You may continue whatever you're doing.”

Monn threw a piece of a white crystal into Ace's arms as he spoke and disappeared the very next second.

The two women staggered on their feet as they momentarily lost grip on Monn. The white crystal in Ace's hand flew away from her hand instantly with Monn's disappearance.

Heidi curiously picked up the piece of white crystal. “What is this?”

Ace s.n.a.t.c.hed it from her and snorted, “It has nothing to do with you.”

Heidi rubbed her hands in pain and said angrily, “You are such a rude woman…”

“So? Do you want a fight?” Ace gave her a glacial stare, her expression full of disdain over the woman who wanted to take away her man from her.

Heidi gave her an embarra.s.sed smile.

She wouldn't dare to challenge Ace without the Cardinal here as the moderator. No matter how blessed and lucky she thought she was, she would, for sure, end up getting beaten by Ace in one-on-one combat.

But she was curious of the man Ace had fallen for. The man that turned a saintess, who was distant to everyone around her, into acting in such a manner, had certainly piqued her interest.

She would do everything in her power to stand between Ace and the things she wanted. Ace certainly deserved it, since she took over the t.i.tle of “The fairest of all in the Capital” from her.

Saint Servant.

Monn had just reached home when little Elma came bouncing on her feet with a small schoolbag on her back. Monn couldn't help smiling knowingly at little Elma as he thought to himself. His little Elma was much more adorable compared to the two women who had just lost their mind,

“Father Monn, what are we eating tonight?” Elma blinked at Monn, her little eyes full of antic.i.p.ations. Then she shook her little head. “Is Sister Ace not coming today?”

“Sister Ace said that she would buy us a feast today. She has gone to prepare us a feast.” Monn said, without seeking Ace's agreement on treating them to the supposed feast tonight.

“Okay, okay…” Elma happily clapped her hands lightly, but trying to comfort Monn at the same time, “I'm not complaining over Father Monn's cooking.”

Monn shook his head with a smile.

“Then shall we go now? Let not keep Sister Ace waiting for us any longer.” Little Elma excitedly said.

Monn's expression changed when he thought of the two women quarreling on the street. He hooked his head and, with a complicated expression, explained to little Elma, “Let's wait for a little while. Two women were fighting when I was there earlier.”

Elma let out an exclamation before she curiously asked, “Why would there be a fight on Sister Ace's side?”

Monn thought for a moment and explained, “Maybe she had nothing to do?”

Little Elma's little mind was filled with questions over Monn's explanation, as she couldn't wrap her head around the relations.h.i.+p between having a fight and having nothing to do.

Monn waited for half an hour with little Elma at home before he brought her to Ace, who was holding the white crystal with s.p.a.cewalk.

A luxurious villa appeared before their eyes. The villa was so huge that the dining hall could easily house a hundred people at the same time. Two spiral staircases adorned the dining hall. The ceiling was decorated with huge golden chandeliers.

All these were manifestations of Ace's wealth. Monn couldn't help being envious of Ace. Were all saintesses this wealthy?

He too…

He shouldn't be thinking of this.

“Wow! Such a big house. This house was several times bigger than ours.”

A moment of awkwardness rose in Monn's heart when he heard of Little Elma's exclamation.

Ace walked out of the kitchen upon hearing the commotion in the living room. Her eyes lit up when she saw the two of them. “Dinner will be ready soon. You may wait at the dining table.”

For a person who had been freeloading in their house, Monn was filled with doubt over her cooking skills. “You can cook?”

Ace rolled her eyes at Monn and shook the spatula in her hand. She confidently replied, “I'll let you have a taste of my cooking today.”

“I hope they are edible.” Monn wasn't convinced by her confidence.

Ace's face darkened. She glared at him and returned to the kitchen, humming a tune, seemingly in a good mood.
