After packing up their belongings, they head deeper inside the dungeon, to the third layer.
The environment changes as they entered. Blood pools all over the ground, sticky webs covering the walls, and not only that, it's a lot more superior than the webs from the second layer. Rakuri guessed that it's a potency +4. That means it went up two whole levels.
After walking through so long, they haven't encountered any more spiders yet. Though what they do found… is a door that leads to the boss room.
"This is it."
As Fortress swallowed his saliva, they… have arrived.
Kucing mumbled as her clenched fist sweating its palm, "A dungeon boss… Pain Reduction is gone now." Noticing her nervousness, Rakuri tapped her shoulder, rea.s.suring her, "Don't worry. We'll make it. Though, be sure to endure some of the pain when that happens."
*gulp*
Moving on to the door, Rakuri holds her hand onto it. And soon after, the door spiraled into a cloud of smoke and created a whirlwind of air, slowly sucking her in. "As long as you don't enter that thing's range of attacks, you'll survive. You'll come with me Suburbian, and don't let that thing catch me. Understand?"
Fortress nodded.
They entered the whirling smoke with a clenched b.u.t.t.
One monster can be sighted nearby and it's as clear as day since the area already has its own torches and lighting. The spider is black as pitch, red menacing eyes with a large skull painting is on the back of its abdomen.
Rakuri summoned her half-broken staff and quickly set it aflame. "Grandma, focus your heal on Suburbian. Kucing… san, only attack after I stunned it."
They nodded.
She looked at her half-broken staff once more, and chuckled, 'So long, partner.'
Cloaking it to an extreme degree, the flame spreads across the staff, half burning it. Raising her feet, she stomped it to the ground, sliding around to the sleeping monster. She leaps forward with her staff in the air and then smashed it to the monster's head.
*BOOOM*
The flames burst out as her staff broke into pieces. "KREEEEEEEEHHKKKK!!" the spider awakens, it opens its mouth and burst out a laser of flame.
*BWOOOOOOOM*
Rakuri missed the timing to dodge, but because it was staggered, the laser only scratches past her shoulder. She quickly moved to the back.
Every boss monster has at least 1 ultimate skill, and that was the skill the spider monster got. Now that it's gone, the danger of dying has been significantly reduced.
However, it's only a matter of time… until that thing can do it again.
Though, the party won't let that happen.
Rakuri sends her [Windbolt] again, and with that as a signal, Kucing moved closer to the boss. But went further outside its reach.
This is where the whole party s.h.i.+ne. Fortress lifted his s.h.i.+elds up, and yelled out a cry, "Haaaaaah!!"
*Bwoooooooosh*
The target has been successfully taunted using [Focused Taunt]. Unlike normal [Taunt] the skill he just used will last three times longer and could even be used to a boss. Though, it can only be used to one enemy, which in this case, is perfect for them. With this, it won't even consider going after the other member of the party. But Fortress needs to keep attacking whilst it's active, and it won't last very long.
The spider quickly swings its arm and scratches him again and again, the s.h.i.+eld is coming handy in this kind of fight.
As he kept distracting it, Rakuri sends more of her [Windbolt] sending them raining at it.
*Baks*
Her eyes widened, that was the sounds she really wanted to hear, "Now, go!"
Kuching went past Fortress, and then slices the downed spider with her daggers. As it tries to get up, Kucing stabbed its eyes.
Screeching in pain as tons of purple blood coming out of it.
Quickly, it opened its mouth and tried to crush Kuching with its fang, but Fortress stepped in and replace her.
*BAKS*
"Ngh."
The immense pressure coming from his s.h.i.+eld is staggering, his health went down several hundred below, but it quickly went up again.
With ray light piercing him from behind, he regenerated his health back up at extremely fast speed. It is none other than a spell coming from Grandma's skill, [Concentrated Healing].
*BAKS*
It's stunned once again, Kucing quickly moves and do it again.
*Slice *Slash *Slash *Slice *Stab
*Bwooosh*
With another blood gus.h.i.+ng out, the spider is getting slower than before. When it tried to chomp her again, she managed to avoid it.
Fortress leaped forward and slice it, returning back its attention to him.
But something unexpected happens.
The spider ignored his attack and went straight to Rakuri.
Her eyes widened, 's.h.i.+t, I forgot it's not a game.'
*KREEEEEKKHHH*
She made a mistake, she closed her eyes when her prey fought back. 'Huh?' but when she opened her eyes, the said prey's mouth is visible to her. She was being protected by an invincible barrier, it is none other than one of the infamous priest ability, the [Wall of Protection].
"Ms. Rakuri, hurry up and get out of there!" yelled Grandma. Maintaining [Wall of Protection] cost a huge amount of mana.
Of course, he won't need to say that twice. Using [Earth Manipulation], Rakuri leaped over the giant spider, making it chomp on the earth pillar instead.
Quickly, she sends more of her [Windbolt] right to its abdomen.
*Fwoosh *Fwoosh *Fwoosh *Fwoosh *Fwoosh
*BAKS*
Another stun.
This time, with all their might. Excluding Grandma, the party sends down their best attack to the downed monster.
*BOOM*

Kucing almost died from the panic, Grandma is facing down the ground for losing too much mana, and last but not least, Rakuri, standing beside the guardian, "Hehe…" with a grin on both the guardian and the mage,

They slapped their hands together in sync, it brings tremor to their hearts, a good kind of tremor.

"It's all right, you can have them all. We don't need them. You've helped us out by beating this dungeon, without you, we won't make it this far."
"Beh," she chuckled, "No need, I'm not interested in any of them. How about we just split the core? I, on the other hand, would love to have one in my pocket."
Fortress eyes light up, "Are you sure? What about the armor?"
"Meh, Grandma can take them. I don't fancy going around wearing armor from something I killed. So, just take them."
A smile was formed on his face.
"Ah right, what about that item you guys are looking for?"
Kucing raised her head and quickly stood up. Approaching them nervously, she steeled herself and said, "The rumors say that I can find an a.s.sa.s.sin Benediction in this place."
"Ahh…" Rakuri thought, 'Girl, for you to leak out something as important as this to a stranger… foolish.' After a paused, she smiles, 'It's a good thing we're not enemies.'
Facing a pause from Rakuri, Kucing asked again, nervously, "Erm, I know it's shameless of me. But, do you know how to get it, Rakuri-san?"
"…" she chuckled. The three of them have not ranked up yet, so they didn't get the item for it, but… "Of course."
Gleaming in bright sparkles, Kucing has high hopes for her to reveal it, but she knows, she couldn't ask her. If she doesn't want to, then that's it. There's no other way around, and surely, she doesn't want to make an enemy out of her.
But then…
"Here."
Rakuri handed a key, it's the [Common Dungeon Key] she got from the rank up rewards.
"That's?!!" the party's eyes widened.
"Mhm, a dungeon key. Even though it's the lowest rank, it's needed if you want to uncover the additional bonus part of the dungeon."
"This…" Kucing's hands trembled as she holds it, "I-I can't possibly accept this, it was your hard work to get this."
"Well, I never said I'll give it for free."
"Ah." The party breathes a sigh of relief, "Then, is there something you want, Rakuri-san?"
"Yeah…" smiling her way, "When I need help in the future, let's party up again, yeah?"
Their eyes show signs of ma.s.sive respect. With soothes heart, Fortress stepped in and offered a handshake. Rakuri gladly takes it.
"Ms. Rakuri, I will never forget this… debt. Whenever you need us, just wave a call."
Soon following up to that…

That name always gets her. The two s.h.i.+fted their eyes to Grandma, and he sees both of them left and right, "What?" he said.
Fortress shook his head as he smiles while Kucing patted his shoulder.
"No, wait. Seriously, what?"
The party soon burst out a laughter, having a wonderful joy in the deepest part of a dungeon. Rakuri reveals how to use it, and only those who have the key can enter the gate. What lies behind it, only Kucing knows.
She obtained the Benediction. It's only a mild one in the E-Rank category, but it worth more than it meets the eye. Even an F-Rank benediction, which is the lowest rank, is still worth hundreds of gold coins if the user wants to sell it. That is how rare they are.
There is also a Cla.s.s Benediction, which comes after a rank up. That is good as well, but finding more in the world is exponentially a lot better than relying on just that Benediction alone.
The party partway soon after. They said they will head back to the Center Capital and take on more quests so that they can rank up. After doing something so exhausting, they still have so much energy to spare. It's quite a funny thing for Rakuri to witness.
