Raven's world was still rather dark, but it seemed to have brightened since that crying lady had decided to help him. He felt a surge of grat.i.tude towards her as he had felt at a lost ever since he had woken up in incredible pain.

His body still felt bruised and battered, and he was still unable to remember anything except the hauntingly beautiful face of a woman, but he felt better now that he was not alone. The woman who had rescued him might be a little bit on the blunt side but he found that he did not really mind, especially as it came hand in hand with her quick decision making.

She had brought him to a place with a lot of people and then had told someone whose name he had not caught to give him a room and clean him up. And added as an afterthought to make sure that his room was totally safe for a person unable to see to move around freely.

That had been three days ago. He had been spending that time attempting to use his sense of touch to get to know his way around the place. Luckily, for him, everyone was really kind. He had quickly learned that the woman who had brought him here's name was Dawn and they referred to her as queen.

To him, the name seemed appropriate. She had brought him such hope that a name that implied a brightening seemed fitting. He pledged deep inside of himself that whatever he could do for this woman he would do.

Dawn checked up on him several times, her voice always clear cut and no nonsense. She would always ask him about his memory, and if he was doing alright. His memory was still gone, but other than his eyes everything else was healing nicely. His eyes would still hurt if he tried to open them so he kept them shut. As such he could tell her that he was doing fine honestly.

He picked up that she had just recently lost her husband and felt sorry for her. For some reason the thought of losing someone that you loved made his heart ache, though he had no real idea why.

So after the three days, he wandered around trying to find his savior, as he thought of her and how he wanted to serve her. He was not sure what all he could do, but surely he could do something. He refused to accept that being blind made him useless.

It would help him though to not keep getting lost in these endless corridors if he could only touch both walls instead of only one at a time. It was like a maze that had no end. Thankfully, the people who lived here had a deep-rooted kindness in them and he was soon guided in the correct direction.

As such he eventually managed to find the person who he felt so deeply indebted to. He heard her turn towards him, and her voice was startled, "Raven? Are you okay? Do you need anything?" Her voice was not as caring as some of the other people's that were here, but her words were still kind. He figured that this woman must have a rather gentle spirit but did not know how to show it.

"Dawn. Queen Dawn." He bowed and then knelt, lowering his head in a submissive manner, "I wish to join your service in any capacity that I can. I may not be all that capable, but whatever skills I might possess is at your disposal…. My queen." The words felt a little strange, but at the same time right.
