The moon was a bit bright tonight. While Arrion could see fine in the dark, he was appreciative of how beautiful it looked. And he wanted to share it with the woman he adored.

It did not take her all that long to join him after he had sent the prior watch back to sleep and sat down to wait on his wife to come out.

She dropped down beside of him, and set her head on the palm of her hand as she looked at him. A sweet smile graced her lips as she gazed at him. He wondered idly what she was thinking because she was being so silent.

Reaching out, he grasped her hand and pulled her closer to him. Until she was right up next to him and he could feel the warmth from her body. Her soft startled laugh broke the silence and then was swallowed up as he kissed her. He could feel her almost melt into his embrace.

She decked her head against his chest afterwards and then spoke into his s.h.i.+rt, "Aren't we supposed to be keeping watch?"

Her tone was playful though, and Arrion knew that she was more than willing to forego actually doing what they were supposed to be doing in lieu of kissing and cuddling each other. With a grin on his face, he placed a soft kiss on the top of his lady's head. "Well, darling mine, why do you think I kept my kiss short? As long as I remember to keep one eye out – we should be fine. Or I could ask the owl watching us to keep watch for us instead? I am sure I could get it to."

"Druids." She rolled her eyes at him. But she leaned up and pressed a soft peck on his lips. Then she tilted her head thoughtfully and said nonchalantly, "But go ahead and do that."

Laughing, Arrion obeyed her, and called the owl to him. It was not hard to get it to understand what he was asking, and soon it had flown back up to its tree more than happy to do as he requested.

Leaning back, Arrion smirked at his wife. He was curious what that look on her face meant. What was his dear queen thinking?

Dawn clambered up onto his lap and she took his head in her hands and just spent a moment gazing into his eyes. Her eyes seemed to soften just looking into his. Those golden orbs of hers were so beautiful. He knew a slightly silly grin had come unto his face, but he did not care.

Her hands dropped from his face as she went to kiss him. Instead they dropped to his chest and pressed against him.

He grasped her waist as their kiss deepened. He found the thought rising unbidden that if it wasn't for the fact that they were in the wilderness, and where people could walk in on them, he would already be trying to get more than just a kiss. But he did not like the idea of anyone else seeing Dawn that way, so he would just wait until they could do so unhindered.

But it was a bit pleasing to realize he was not the only one. Dawn had a slightly frustrated look on her face. With a smile on his face, he raised his hand and began tracing the lines of her face. In a low voice, he promised, "When we get home. Some of our companions are little more than children. Wouldn't want to scar them or anything."

She punched his chest for that. Then shook her head, but a smile came to her face. "I want to sleep next to you again. I miss having my big cuddly sleeping companion."

"I feel the same, but you know. Politeness to others and all that."

"Should've brought an extra tent. Then at least we could cuddle all night."

He bit her ear as he wrapped his arm around her tighter and then he smiled as he pressed his lips to her jawline, "Anyway. Enough about that. I was wanting to enjoy looking at the moon with you. What do you say?"

She wriggled in his embrace as she turned around. Her back flattened against his chest and she leaned back. "It is quite pretty tonight. Still, nowhere near as pretty as your eyes."

"Why thank you. You are far more prettier than the moon as well. But I rather like looking at you in the moonlight, it softens your beauty – makes you seem more intimate, approachable."

"Oh, please. You've always found me approachable."

"Are you sure about that? Sometimes you are rather intimidating. I'm just hard to actually scare away. Too stubborn. You should be happy about that."

"I am."

Arrion was no longer even looking at the moon. Instead he just gazed at his lovely wife who was in his arms. As much as he just liked nature, it did not compare with this woman. She was his other half after all, the woman he had chosen for himself. And she was more important to him than any other duty, whether he was born into it or took it upon himself, save one, could ever lay claim to.
