Zhujiao woke up and found himself in a familiar place. It was his bedroom. He noticed that he also smelled like his usual soap which meant the maids had probably given him a bath while he was asleep. This was also proven by the fact he was changed into his nightwear.

'Wait… What happened to Sir w.a.n.g Shu and Lady Feng Huan?'

He stood up and exited into the corridor.

He decided to first pay a visit to his father's courtyard since they might be meeting with him. It was the only thing he could think of.

He was able to make it without seeing any servants which made him feel a bit perplexed.

From the entrance of the courtyard, he could see that it was already late at night and the stars seemed especially bright.

The light inside his father's study was also on and he could see three or four shadows from inside.

He walked over with his feet stepping on the gra.s.s. He tiptoes as much as possible so that his presence wouldn't be revealed.

He made his way to the door and placed his ear on it and started to listen to the faint voices he could hear through the door. But there was only one sentence he was allowed to hear clearly.

"Ah, but please wait a second."

Zhujiao felt frustrated since the talk suddenly came to a pause before he had gotten the chance to find out what it was about but he hadn't expected what came next.

The door was kicked open and stomped down with him underneath and he felt an intense pressure on his chest. He was having a hard time breathing and kept on frantically waving his arms in an attempt to get the door off.

Then he looked up above him.

Those black eyes that stared at him once in disappointment due to his poor choice of words at their first encounter were staring at him again but they were looking at him as if he was nothing but dirt.

"Considering the fact that you were the son of a n.o.ble. I had expected for you to hold some kind of etiquette and announce the fact that you were here

"And you two."

He moved his gaze to a tree in his father's courtyard. From the leaves of three, he suddenly heard a few rustles and the figure of the twins he had saw earlier emerged from the shadows. He felt shocked since he hadn't noticed their presence at all.

The twins simultaneously pointed a finger at themselves since they remembered they shouldn't speak and c.o.c.ked their heads to the right in confusion.

"Why didn't you stop him?"

They looked at each other for a slight moment and then signed with their hands. They just gestured the current scene before them

"It was so you could see this?"

Both Gemi and Mini were immensely satisfied with Cole. They had expected for him to be able to decrypt their message.

'I want to shoot you two.'

He wanted to do so since there were still in foreign territory. He had contacted them that the Nan Head was had a few previous a.s.sa.s.sination attempts on his life. He knew that they wouldn't actually do such a thing if they were actually in the field but it was in his nature to think such.

And despite Cole thinking that, he wouldn't. He was in no way stupid enough to show advanced weaponry in front of a civilization that mainly used swords and carriages.

So instead, he used Mana.

'Steward, if I use English instead of Greek while upping the Mana input, would it work?'

〔Okay, simulating… Probably.〕

'Okay then.'

"〈Chaos Sphere: Bullet〉"

"Eh?"

"Eh?"

Black spheres formed near Cole with red sparks circulating around them. It had a similar feel to the cannon. The twins' heads c.o.c.ked even further to the side.

'He said that in English, right?'

'That was English, right?'

Before they fully understood what Cole was doing. The spheres changed shape and started to resmeble

'Each one cost about 25? I'm a.s.suming it was times five and then another ten for the modification.'

〔Let's see... That's about right.〕

He walked over to the two who got knocked out and Felicia just happened to exit and stepped on Zhujiao as he was getting the door off him.

"Ah, sorry. I didn't see you."

Her previous kind and gentle demeanor had disappeared completely and from the light coming from the full moon, he could make out weird metal things on the place where her ears should be.

She then went to Cole and checked the twins condition. It seemed taht they were only knocked out.

"Did you really have to do that?"

"If we were in a real battlefield, they would have died."

"Is that so?"

She raised an eyebrow and had an amused smile on her face. Cole just brought the twins to their a.s.signed rooms with Felicia following close behind him.

But before leaving, he stopped and told Nana Fuqin.

"We'll continue our talk some other time."

Fuqin solemly nodded and the group exited out from the courtyard.

Zhujiao finally got the door off him and had straightened himsled up and was now stuck face to face with his father.

"Uh... Hi, Father..."

Fuqin stared at his son. He treasured him a lot but sometimes had to come to face that he could be bait of an idiot sometimes.

"Haa..."

"So, what's its like? Experiencing an ancient version of your country's past in person?"

"How did you know I was Zhonghuan in the first place?"

"It was a guess. I bet that you were at most half."

〔I also calculated such!〕

'Shut up, Steward.'

"Well, you're right about that."

"So?"

"Hmmm... Nothing much. My mom didn't make that much of a fuss about old traditions."

"Then how about you? Not much is revealed about your racial ancestry except the fact that you're dad was American and your mom was an immigrant from Ireland."

"Hmmm..."

Cole pondered to himself. He didn't really tell much of his family's background sicne most of the time there was no need and no benefit in doing so.

Even when his cla.s.smates or friends asked, he didn't really feel like telling them.

But since she was asking, Cole felt like doing so anyway.

"So we're both half-americans. I knew that. But you said that night that you moved into your father's house when you were 7, right?"

"But it was said that you were raised solely by your mother and grandparents."

"Well, although I said that. A year later and we moved out again."

"Why?"

"...Let's just say... It was uncomfortable."

'No matter how much she tried. She couldn't keep that smile plastered on 24/7.'

His eyes darkened for a bit as he started to remember a few unpleasant things. Seeing that the atmosphere was getting a bit awkward and uncomfortable, she directed the conversation to another topic she was interested about.

"Then how about you're grandparents?"

"Ah, it's a bit interesting. My granddad was Irish while my grandmother was Russian. He met her as he was touring Russia."

Felicia knew about his grandfather since Cole's mom was an immigrant but didn't know about his grandmother.

"They eventually had my mom but my grandmother died about three years after she was born in an accident. So, my granddad basically had to raise my mom by himself for a long time until she was eighteen and he got remarried. He got married to a j.a.panese woman and get this."

"They met while she was touring the country."

"Eh, really?"

Felicia suddenly felt that maybe Cole's grandfather had some special spell for attracting women on tours or while he was on one.

"Yeah, I know."

"Even my mom said that she was shocked at the time."

He seemed to be genuinely having fun at telling his grandparents story. He wasn't smiling or anything like that but Felicia felt that Cole seemed a bit more relaxed than usual. His back wasn't ramrod straight like always and it was leaning back even by just a little bit.

He was about to continue when Mini's eyes abruptly shot open and he stood up like a rocket and pointed at Cole with his finger.

It was also right up in his face since he was sitting on the edge of the bed.

"WAIT A SECOND!"

"Oh, you're awake."

That was Cole's only reaction to Mini's sudden outburst. He didn't put enough force in his attack to knock them out for a few days since that would only be a hindrance to their mission.

"YOU'RE RUSSIAN?! BUT YOU LIVED IN AMERICA WHEN YOU WERE ALIVE!"

"To be more exact, I'm one-fourth. My grandma was Russian."

"That just adds another Russian person to the silver-haired Russian anime person pool."

"Oh, you're awake too."

Gemi appeared to have woken up to and didn't seem to have any intention of staying up since she started to wrap herself in her blanket. Felicia helped her with it and she already had the look of doizng off into dreamland.

"Oh, you're right about that."

With her words, Mini's attention was directed towards something else immediately.

"If you have any questions, you can aske me them tomorrow. We have a long day tomorrow."

And with that, although with a bit of a struggle. The day came to an end.
