A few seconds pa.s.sed again, and the doors opened to the new floor.
Just the atmosphere felt vastly different from what Cole had seen previously on Gemi and Mini's floor.
Although it had the same layout as Gemi and Mini's floor, the floating screens all had the same message on them which was...
『Currently Inactive 』
There were a few people hanging around the floor. Doing activities such as drinking coffee, reading articles on their super advanced technology and etc.
Cole only let the sight stay in his eyes for a few seconds before he continued to follow Gemi and Mini.
Tgey were going to the far right of the floor which had a giant, black metal door blocking whatever was inside.
The rusted corners and the material of the door made it look very out of place in the building.
On the metal door, however was a single white Libra symbol painted on top of it.
"What is this?"
"A 〈Spirit Door〉"
"It appears when there is a Spirit willing to give their mark to a person. Whenever their Mark-bearer dies, they either return to wherever they came from or disappear."
Mini and Gemi kindly answered Cole. It didn't have the full details but Vole didn't need that right now. He could have as many info dumps as he wanted later when he was done here.
"Of course, there should be compatibility to worry about and other stuff like that, right?"
Cole wanted to confirm because there was also stuff like that usually found in all the novels he read.
Gemi and Mini just gave him a synchronised nod.
Cole took a few steps forward and put his hand on the door. He felt like opening it right away, but he knew better than that.
"Let me guess... Once I open this door, it means I accept to be an official member of the organization〈S. T. E. L. L. A〉?"
Without turning back to face the twins, Cole asked them.
"Yup."
"It's just like selling your soul, no big deal."
Cole would have been satisfied even if he didn't hear Gemi's extra remark. Maybe that's what she's like when she just wakes up.
*CCCRRRREEEEEAAAAKKKK*
He hesitated no further and slowly opened the door, with it's rusty hinges creaking, drawing the attention of the oher attendees.
The door only opened a little bit before Cole had stepped into the darkness that was the inside of it.
*DUN*
"..."
"..."
The twins stared at the once again closed doors amd stayed there.
"He's gonna end up being our new squadmate, huh?"
"Can't say I mind. We'll just have to deal with it."
"... I guess you're right, Gemi."

"...So this is it...?"
That was the only impression Cole had as he looked around his new surroundings.
The place he was in was a courtroom. He had guessed that maybe it was due to Libra being the scales or something, but as usual, he didn't care.
He didn't feel like moving to the Defense or the Prosecutor's side, so he just dropped on the floor and sat right where he was standing.
〔Hurray! You pa.s.s the first test!〕
Just then, party poppers appeared out of nowhere and exploded right in front of his face together with a voice that he couldn't pinpoint the exact gender was.
Cole blinked a few times and looked around the place, using only his eyes but he ended up not finding anything.
〔To hurry and get this over with, let's have the second test!〕
'Isn't this proceeding a bit too quick?'
Cole felt like answering back to the voice, but then again, he didn't feel like caring.
He then blinked his eyes for a second and then he was in a different room again.
He stood up and examined the new place, not bothered at all.
It was pure white, with no windows, no doors and the only item in the entire room was a simple desk with a pair of scales in the middle.
Cole walked closer to the table and when he blinked his eyes again, new things had appeared on the table.
There were two photos. A man wearing a white s.h.i.+rt and a dirty grey hoodie on the left of the scales, and two, a man wearing a fancy black suit on the right of the scales.
And on the right bottom corner of the table had appeared 10 pure, golden coins.
Cole examined both the phtos and the coins very carefully.
'...What am I supposed to do...?'
He was confused by what exactly "Libra" had wanted him to do. Cole had decided to just go with his gut and placed 8 of the golden coins on the left scale while the other 2 was put on the right one.
And as he did so, somebody had smirked.
