"What the heck? Is that guy cheating?" Someone in the audience got up in shock. Storm Desire was thrown out of the PvP game and lost his 10th streak match. After a few seconds, Alex left the PvP arena and returned to the Card Frontier main grounds.
The audience came to greet Storm Desire. "Did that guy cheat in game?" One of the friends asked.
"Cheat? How exactly could he cheat? This is Card Frontier, not some random game." Storm Desire mocked. "It must be his talent, he can instantaneously activate cards. He is very strong, even his basic moves had the essence of water in them."
Suddenly some commotion sounded. People were flocking to the 1 Card Trial Tower. Storm Desire stopped a person to ask what happened.
"Some player called Your Dad is a Noob is fighting the fourth stage of the 1 Card Trial Tower in his first attempt."
Inside the Tower, Alex took out his stick and was fighting the opponent who was using the water sword card. Alex also used the water sword card and integrated the sword with his stick. After a.n.a.lysis, the battle was much easier than his second battle with the fire sword user.
After a few minutes Alex managed to outdo the opponent. This time his use of the stick wasn't as proficient as the sword, but his understanding of water had surpa.s.sed his opponent in stark contrast to the previous battle two weeks ago. Finally, Alex convincingly beat the opponent and exited the tower.
He quietly left the VR world. He decided to do research on the next two opponents in the tower. At that time he saw that Old Ren came in with a smile on his face.
"Kid, I've organized for you to have a good fight practice."
"Oh? Who is willing to compare with me?" Alex asked.
"I've just gone and threatened the Honor Dojo that you will crash the dojo tomorrow and to prepare their students." Old Ren laughed.
Alex slapped his hand over his forehead. "Old Man, are you trying to create enemies for me?"
Old Man ignored Alex's comment. "The dojo specializes in close combat employing the essence of wind. It will be helpful for your next tower battles."
Alex understood. Indeed the fifth and sixth levels in the tower were wind type opponents. "Will the battle use cards?"
Old Ren shook his head. "We are dojos. We are fighting for the pride of the skill the dojo teaches."
"But you only taught me basic military boxing and basic stick techniques. This is the secret teaching of your Smiling Dojo?" Alex mocked.
Old Ren coughed. "I will teach it to you now. The Smiling Punch my grandfather invented and my father taught me."
"Smiling Punch?" Alex's face turned weird. Old Ren nodded.
He turned serious and displayed a punching technique. The punch had a twisting force to it as well as a shadow due to the speed, giving the illusion of being faster than it really is.
Alex spent the rest of the day learning this smiling punch. He didn't completely capture the intention, but he got the basic form of the punch. He could use basic military boxing while imitating the form of this smiling punch.
The next day at the Honor Dojo, Old Ren arrived in a gaudy j.a.panese costume and gratuitously kicked open the doors of the Honor Dojo. While entering the Dojo like a moustache twirling villain despite having no moustache. Alex followed him with an embarra.s.sed frown on his face.
A few students had already gathered, having being informed that someone dared to crash the dojo today.
"Hahaha, today this Honor Dojo will fall to the feet of my powerful Smiling Dojo, hahahaha!" Old Ren laughed evilly.
"Ren, cut the c.r.a.p. You abandoned the Smiling Dojo in your youth, now that you fooled one pitiful student into joining you, your Dojo became powerful? Stop your theatrics, students, one by one accompany this poor kid and show him that the beneficial idea for him is to join our Honor Dojo!" The head of the Honor Dojo yelled out firmly.
Alex shook his head and bowed. "Please accompany me to test our fighting capabilities."
The head of the Honor Dojo nodded. He pointed at a student. "Go!"
The student eagerly arrived in front of Alex in the combat area. Old Ren sat down in the corner to see the events unfold.
Alex had high hopes, but quickly his face turned blank with boredom. He was able to easily beat up the students one after the other, who were repeatedly getting stunned. They saw Alex throwing a terrifying punch that seemed to have some illusive quality to it as well as a slight essence of the wind.
Old Ren laughed evilly. "Hahaha, behold the strength of my dojo's laughing punch!"
Alex rolled his eyes. "He wasn't using laughing punch at all, but basic military boxing and masking it with the form of the laughing punch."
After taking out twenty students, the head of the honor dojo sighed. He brought out his own disciple. "s.h.i.+na, don't embarra.s.s my dojo. Its okay if you lose, but don't lose disgracefully like these lazy students of mine."
s.h.i.+na jumped onto the platform. "Master, I won't let this man defeat the dojo."
Alex and s.h.i.+na began to fight. s.h.i.+na immediately felt herself at a disadvantage. She paled, but then she started using a different fighting style. The punches and the kicks were like the wind. She immediately restored the balance.
She was actually a card apprentice, and having generated rank 2 cards, her strength was much more superior to Alex. However, Alex was able to neutralize the powerful attacks by discovering the flaws. As he was fighting, he felt the hint of the wind within his own moves seemed to increase.
The other students of the dojo were cheering for s.h.i.+na when they saw her changing the balance of the battle. However the Honor Dojo head sighed. He looked at Old Ren sitting beside him and shook his head. "Where did you find such a monster?"
As Alex's combat force began to rapidly grow under the pressure, he began finding several flaws in s.h.i.+na's moves. However, he continued to fight without exploit them, for he felt the pressure of his opponents higher strength was helping him finesse his skill.
Eventually, he felt the pressure completely released. He thought for a bit and then stopped attacking. "I admit defeat." Alex said.
s.h.i.+na was shocked. She had felt that Alex had reached the point of toying with her, but she was desperately trying to hang on as she had the responsibility of the dojo on her hands. However, he suddenly admitted defeat?
Alex bowed. "Thank you for your accompaniment, I learned a lot." Alex then retreated from the platform.
Old Ren looked at Alex with faux hatred. "You, kid! How can you be so irresponsible? I came to capture this dojo."
"Old man... cut out the drama." Alex spoke up.
