Lorne was more like lightning that spread out instantly striking and killing those around him.
If his friends from Earth were to see him engaged in such slaughter they might wonder who this person was. What needs to be appreciated though was that Lorne never engaged in wholesale slaughter because there was no need.
No one was as powerful as he was. He could restrain anyone easily and let them stand trial for their sins.
Lorne also believed in the rule of law. He believed that peace was only guaranteed where a just legal system was enforced and supported by the people. What he was engaged in now was war.
In war, you break things and kill people. There were many warriors here who were just as strong as Lorne. Some of the leaders were probably stronger.
Lorne was fighting for his life. In a matter of life and death, one no longer had the leisure to capture his enemies and turn them over to the courts. The best that could be done was to kill, force a retreat, or subjugate his enemy.
While Lorne and Big Bear were fighting desperate battles, the rest of the warriors of the forest weren't just sitting still. They were engaged in their own life and death battles. Unfortunately, many of Lorne's young forest friends lost their lives in this battle.
Even his little friend Tiao, the rabbit kid he used to play with died. He didn't go easily though. Little Tiao was small but good with a knife and a bow. He struck down thirty-six of the evil cultivators.
At last, he was unexpectedly killed by an illusion bomb. The illusion bomb created a sudden attack of fear in the mind of the opponent. Tiao was caught in the blast radius and the fear was so intense that Tiao's heart exploded.
Fēixíng Chìbǎng lost a leg in one of his attacks. he was rushed from the battlefield by his brother, Fēixíng Zhǎo. Once Fēixíng Zhǎo returned he became an unrestrained beast! He launched a slaughter rivaling Big Bear and Lorne.
After the majority of the first wave of common soldiers was killed off; Master Gur sent the second wave of common soldiers with air support. The airs.h.i.+ps could precisely fire on their enemies avoiding their allies with hair-like precision.
Seeing this, Lorne flew into the air. To others, these airs.h.i.+ps were formidable, but to Lorne, they were slow and vulnerable. Many of the airs.h.i.+ps wound up cras.h.i.+ng back into their own troops.
However, Lorne couldn't destroy all of the airs.h.i.+ps and those that escaped took to the skies and made a great slaughter. Thankfully, it was at this time that the Dragon Empire guns.h.i.+ps took to the sky and destroyed the less advanced airs.h.i.+ps of the Divine Kill Sect.
The scariest actions were taken by the Wu Di Clan who began to take up long-range, mid-range, and melee support positions. More Divine Kill Sect soldiers were lost to the Wu Di Clan than everyone else combined.
Their unique energy sensing allowed them to understand the weak points of cultivators attacks. They were also able to avoid strong attacks. It was nearly impossible to surprise attack them. It became clear why the Dragon Empire hunted those people down so long ago. Their abilities were scary.
Wu Di military advisors could suggest the most strategic strike points within any formation or army unity.
At first, it seemed as if the Forest Fighters and their allies were about to win. Master Gur, however, had a different outcome in mind. Master Gur released his elite extermination squad the Divine Killers.
The Divine Killers were a team of seven people. Each member was at the light king realm. This fighting level was way above nearly everyone else's level. Only Master Gur was ranked higher at the Half-Immortal ascended realm.
The Divine Killers were like a plague of locusts that greedily consumed the lives of those around them. The Wu Di Clan Chief found himself battling three of these fellows. The Wu Di Clan Chief was at the Light King realm himself, but his abilities as a Wu Di clansman made him a far tougher foe than a regular Light King realm warrior.
Still, three versus one was hard for even him to handle. Two members of the team faced off against the Dragon Princess and her Royal Guards. The two Divine Killers made short work of the Princess's two Guardsmen and were about to kill her.
A golden form flashed in front of her.
"Sorry, miss for not getting here sooner." Lorne smiled.
Lorne parried the initial attacks of the two killers. However, Lorne realized that it was more than he could handle currently. He had no choice but to reveal his true power. Lorne opened his power up and for the first time, his fifth claw came forward, grabbing one of the killers. The Killer was spun at super speed before Lorne shot him with his laser vision.
Next, Lorne attacked and killed the next Divine Killer. What was shocking to the Dragon princess was discovering that the young Dragon in front of her was a Five-clawed Gold Horn dragon. When was the last time the Dragon Empire had such an existence?
The news of such a person would shock the world. The Dragon Clan would become chaos, and she knew that her father would try to arrange a marriage between her and this youth. For her, that would be fine. Marriage with a heroic and powerful male who could ask for more?
For dragons, marriage was less about love usually and more about finding someone fitting. Lorne's father was obviously an exception as he married Lorne's mother out of love.
Lorne flew off to deal with the other two Divine Killers. One was hara.s.sing Grandpa Bear and another was going after the Tiger Tribe Chief. Unfortunately, by the time Lorne got to Grandpa Bear, the Divine Killer had just finished killing him. Lorne roared in sadness and rage and attacked the Divine Killer.
Lorne released an energy blast from the palm of his third hand. The energy blast knocked the Divine Killer back into the waiting Khando of the saddened and raging Big Bear who finished the killer off. Just as Lorne was about to a.s.sist the Tiger Clan Chief, Master Gur had enough and teleported in front of Lorne.
The two began to exchange fists with each other. The only reason Lorne was able to keep up with him was his energy sensing ability. It helped him identify when and where Master Gur was about to attack him.
Master Gur, however, wasn't so easy to deal with. Master Gur's cultivation level was way above Lorne's and his speed was even faster than Lorne's. Master Gur sped up his attacks and finally hit Lorne. The impact of Master Gur's punch finally caused Lorne to spit up blood as he went flying backward.
Lorne rose to his feet and began to push his speed to its maximum in order to keep up with Master Gur. However, Master Gur was just too fast. Lorne followed the energy sensing and realized that there was one point where Lorne could attack and if he were successful he might be able to pull through this battle.
Using his laster vision and Ice Dragon Breath, Lorne attacked with both hot and cold attacks. He used fast attacks spirit energy blasts and every martial technique he could. If not for the resilience of having a mixed Zimwarn and Dragon bloodline; Lorne would have died long ago.
As powerful as Lorne had become there was no way that he could keep this pace going forever. He was lost in the battle he had lost his bearing. He didn't think there was any way out of this. Lorne began to accept his death and vowed to take Master Gur with him. Even though he knew that there was no chance to win, he still had to try. It's better to try and fail, he always believed.
Lorne continued punching his arms, to the normal cultivators it looked like Lorne's arms suddenly disappeared. To those with a higher cultivation it looked like wheels of golden light flowing in strange paths, but to others, it looked like his arms had bloomed like a golden flower with an infinite number of petals.
It still wasn't enough. Master Gur started acting like Lorne was just a child he was playing with. He didn't seem to take this battle seriously at all. Lorne didn't give up. He shot laser vision, Hot dragon breath, hold dragon breath, he moved faster than he had ever moved before.
He used the speed to increase the impact his punches would have. He grew his fingernails and used them as razors. His third armed fired energy beam after energy beam.
No matter what move, power or cultivation technique he used nothing worked against Master Gur. Was this to end the same way as his battle defending earth did. Him being absolutely owned and sent to his death as who knows what happened to those he left behind.
Lorne couldn't stand the idea. He needed more power, more strength, more, more, more he needed more. It was like something snapped inside of Lorne and suddenly his speed and strength doubled. His sensitivity to his energy sensing increased. His Ridarn vision was also aiding him at looking for flaws in Master Gur's physiology.
It suddenly appeared to Master Gur that now he was facing ten Lorne's. Lorne began to believe that he could win! he just had to do his best to stay alive. Lorne fought against another ending like the one on earth, he was not going to go down. Even if he died he would take as many with him as he could. He would show them his indomitable will. They could kill him, but they couldn't beat him.
Every part of Lorne ached he was running on pure guts and willpower. One eye was swollen shut and the other eye wasn't much better. Somehow, though, he kept hanging on. Just a little more and a miracle could happen. If it didn't everyone would suffer. Big Bear, his parents, the princess, all of his friends from the forest. All he needed to do was keep moving forward. Keep punching keep moving, keep trying!
He couldn't let it happen again. He had become so powerful. He understood that in his last world he was living a fools existence. His father and mother told him there was no hope. BS42 told him there was no hope. He still had hope. He believed he could make a difference. He had something to contribute even if others couldn't see it!
The humans thought he was invincible, he did too for a while. He eventually learned how weak he was. In this world, he knew he was weak and he didn't believe anyone who told him he wasn't. EVEN STILL, he believed he had the power to protect his friends, but as he looked around the battlefield he realized he still lacked the ability to protect anyone.
"It's over little dragon, why not roll over and die." Master Gur said.
"It's not over until I stop breathing. Even if I stop breathing, I'll come back for you eventually! Lorne cried out.
Lorne could hear them, all of his friends and their families crying as they watched their homes destroyed. Countless tears shed as they held onto their dead and dying. Lorne could sense Big Bear. At some point, he lost an arm, but he was still fighting. Everyone is still fighting! No one has given up!
Lorne had been kneeling on the ground trying to catch his breath, but he knew he needed to rise. He had to stand up. First, he brought up his right leg until his right arm could rest on it. Then with a painful push, he raised his broken body.
He didn't know where he got the strength from but he managed to stand and next he even managed to lift his arms up to show he was ready to fight. Maybe this was it for him, but he would stand to fight against evil and protect everything he loved.
Just as Lorne was about to give his last burst of strength to attack his enemy; he felt something. A powerful presence was approaching. Even Master Gur stopped what he was doing. He too sensed the arrival of a powerful existence. No, four powerful existences!
Something landed in front of Lorne. A gentle voice comforted him.
"Little Dragon, you have fought bravely. I will handle things from here." The mysterious expert said.
"Who are you?!" asked Master Gur.
"I'm Kal N'Dar, don't you think you should pick on someone your own size?"
