The Vampire Project 27 Know Your Enemies

A few days of stalking the Demonfire, Volton h.e.l.lgazer recieves the teports his been waiting for. Finally, the day has come when he will no longer be fooled by those tricks the Demonfire's pulling. He's so full of being a fool. Now's the time to strike back. They may be partners in terms of the business but truthfully, as the saying goes; Bring your friends close and your enemies closer. Both party is up for that. He's standing in front of the window looking down on the city.

"One of these days, the whole city will only see me as their superior. Next is the country then the whole world." He chuckled, but his daydreaming's interrupted by the sudden appearance of one of his men who's following the Demonfire.

"President h.e.l.lgazer, I've got everything that you asked for." He kneeled down in front of Volton. Handing out an envelope.

"If all I need to know is in that envelope, I'll let you and your brothers enjoy a feast." His eyes turns b.l.o.o.d.y red while grinned like a devil.

"All information we gathered are here. I'll take my leave now."

"Before you go, tell Dr. Spencer to come over right away."

"Yes sir!" He then vanished right away and popping out right next to Dr. Spencer informing her to come to the President's office. She then rushed to Volton's office and catches her breath once she's inside. Volton at that moment is checking on the photos inside the envelope, read the attachments and laid them one by one on the table for Dr. Spencer to check.

"These are the information our men gathered. Look at them one by one and recall if they are the faces you saw back then."

"President I'll make sure to recall everything." She picks the photos first and studied them one by one. The features are the same yet she can also see the difference.

"So? What can you say?"

"President, they are indeed the candidates of the BB-HGC project lead by Dr. Brischt. But these reports lack the infos if the other woman candidate."

"That is what's bothering me. Whoever she is, is still a mystery to us. Moreover, the Demonfire still have a trump card. Let's tackle that issue after, for now, I want you to tell me what you know about them."

"This guy, President Demonfire. He's BB-001 by code. He's a Russian a.s.sa.s.sin brought by General Nushka. This girl's the Princess which General Prius brought with him. She's closest to President Demonfire. This guy, hmmm, I'm sure he's one of them but he's not that active before. Also this guy, he's the son of General Johanssen. During the process he had a cardiac arrest when the serum supposedly for him got switch with the other one. This girl's asian features, surely she's from China that General Yang had an interest on. The last one, he's not a candidate. I'm sure of it but he's so familiar."

"Maybe you b.u.mped into him in the facility. Try to recall, this guy may hold the key. If we can figure out who he is exactly then we'll know their weaknesses."

"Let me recall." It takes a while before Dr. Spencer remembered the argument they both had back then. "That's it! I remember him. He's the most trusted doctor that Dr. Brischt let's him stay by his side all the time."

"That means he knows more about the serum than you?"

"Exactly, he's a biochemist. Formulating medicine is his forte. If he managed to survive that day, the candidates must have something we don't know."

"A biochemist you say, then that night when they took some pill it's probably made by that person. Do you remember his name?"

"He's Dr. Harry. We must know what that pill does."

"Dr. Spencer that pill, if we manage to get one can our people at the lab recreate it?"

"Perhaps but it will take time. A thorough study and experiment is needed."

"I'm sure each one of them have them in their pockets. We'll plan on our next move."

"I'll follow your lead. Well you've been holding back your thirst these past few days. There's no reason for you to hold back, now that we know there's something that they've been taking to resist the bloodl.u.s.t you should help yourself with my blood. Once we've got our hands on it, you'll be far superior than them. Leading the world to chaos with your army of vampires." Dr. Spencer kisses Volton's lips gently, she then tilts her head exposing her neck guiding his head. Volton then gently bury his fangs on her neck sucking her blood. He's now capable of controlling his thirst. He stops when he knows he had enough to survive for days. He then lays Dr. Spencer on the couch and cuddle with her as she takes a rest.

On DGC, Sofie and Harry prepares for their flight. They finished all their workloads and a.s.signed their subordinates for some work. Sofie's a.s.sistant will act as the HR manager for the meantime while Diego will handle affairs of the PR department. He have capable subordinates on the Accounting department and just leave matters to them. For important details he'll be the one to attend to it. Slacovich and Sofie talked with each other.

"When you get back to your family, don't be the naughty daughter you've always been." He teased Sofie who's frowning after hearing him.

"Since when did you care about that side of me?" She pouts.

"I've always cared. For you as you. I'd rather have you as Sofie and not some Princess from a kingdom." He lifts her chin up and looks deeps into her eyes.

"I-I always know that you cared for us." She fl.u.s.tered.

"Yes, I care about all of you. But your the one I cherished most. Sofie take care when you get there. Volton's men might still be there. They've been following us all the time."

"You've noticed them too?"

"Yeah, Volton's making his move. If he figured out that Harry's helping us, he may be a fine target. Taking him with you will be the best option for now. I'll keep Volton at bay. As long as he doesn't know Ara, we still have an advantage over him."

"If that's the case, I'll make sure to keep Harry by my side at all cost."

"Not too close okay?" He pulled her close to him and kisses her cheek.

"Your being weird President Demonfire, I might a.s.sume that you like me as well."

"As well? Does that mean you like me?" He kept on teasing her. Sofie can't help but blush.

"When I said as well, that doesn't mean it's me who's liking you. Maybe someone else also likes me. You know, love triangle perhaps?" She can't almost take a breath as Slacovich's face leans closer and closer to hers.

"Hmmm? Really?" He's about to kiss her lips when suddenly Harry opens the door caught them in that position.

"Bad timing, please pretend I never came in. Bye---" he turns his back but Slacovich called him. He saw Sofie's glaring eyes, obviously she's p.i.s.sed for my bad timing.

"Harry, just in time."

"Yeah, perfectly in perfect good obvious time!" She stands up and walks away. Before she can take a few steps away from Slacovich, he grab her hand and pulled her in his arms giving her a loving kiss on the lips. She's stunned for a while before she responds to his kiss. Harry turn his back to give them a bit of privacy. Sofie happily pats his shoulder.

"Harry he wants to talk with you about something." She hummed happily as she leaves the office.

"That's a quick changed of mood. I almost think I'll die a while ago. The way she glared at me, it's like I've been peeled alive." He sits down with a big sigh of relief.

"You know Sofie won't hurt you."

"She will if I happen to do the same thing accidentally. Next time you two should lock the door." He chuckled.

"So how's the preparation going on?"

"Diego's taking over the PR department while I'm away. I already finished finalizing responds on other companies demands. It's up to you to decide whether they meet your requirements."

"That's great. Well I really want to talk to you about something else."

"You mean Volton's infos about us?"

"How'd you know?"

"I maybe just a human but my senses are sensitive. Working on perfecting formulas makes me aware and alert in my environment. I know I've been followed but as long as they keep their distance they mean no harm. When Li notices it she gave me this gun." Harry showed a little pistol with a magazine full of silver bullets. He carries it around him all the time. It's easy to hide cause it's just the size of a palm.

"So you also have the idea that Volton may have figured out who we really are. Especially you."

"Yes, I'm an easy target for them. You dont have to worry. All the research files that I've worked before, I burned them all. Leaving no trace of it."

"What? But you worked really hard for it."

"I won't risk those information to leak out. If they want to get more information about the serum they have to take me."

"We won't allow that to happen. Volton won't treat you nicely when that happens."

"I know and I'm even shock myself. I'm prepared if whatever might happen to me. I should have died there in the facility if you guys haven't spared my life. This life that I'm living belongs to you guys. I'd rather die than say a word that will harm you all."

"You don't owe us your life. It's yours to live. Without your help, all of us may cause trouble to the human race. Having you travel with Sofie is our beat option for now. I'll keep Volton in my sight always. But be sure to stay alert all the time. His men are still around, we don't know when they will strike."

"Don't worry, I'm fully geared up. Li and Tyler packed up everything I need to be able to fight back. You can call me a Vampire Hunter." He chuckled so loudly that even Slacovich buys his laugh.

"Alright Mr. Vampire Hunter, be sure to be the one to hunt and not the one hunted."

"I will, and I'll protect your woman as well." As he said that he rushed for the door and shut it close. Knowing that Slacovich hated being teased.

"My woman huh? Now's not the right time." He murmured.
