Half an hour later, Ren arrived at the company. He parked his car at the specific parking place provided for him. Two security guards standing at the door greeted him. He nodded his head as a form of acknowledgment. His long legs strode to the private elevator. It didn't take him long to arrive at the highest floor.

"President Fuse."

His a.s.sistant, Matsuzaki Touma quickly walked to his side once the young man saw him exited the elevator. A couple of employees bowed their head, giving their respect. Ren entered the President's office, followed by a.s.sistant Matsuzaki.

"Did you find anything crucial?" Ren unb.u.t.toned his black jacket, hanging it on the coat rack. He sat on the swivel chair behind a big mahogany desk.

"Our target has made a move." a.s.sistant Matsuzaki relayed with a concerned face. "Apparently he has contacted most of the shareholders who own the loose share for Z-Tech Corporation. He's trying to acc.u.mulate the shares and take over Z-Tech. The Acting CEO of Z-Tech hasn't been made aware of it."

Ren frowned. "How is the condition of their CEO? He hasn't left the hospital?"

a.s.sistant Matsuzaki shook his head. "It'd take some time before the doctors could allow him to discharge. And his a.s.sistants have refused to cooperate with the Acting CEO. They still want the First Master of Z-Tech to replace the Acting CEO."

"I don't care about their internal conflict. But, apparently CEO Wada doesn't want his adopted son to be the successor. Wada Tatsuya is the First Master and capable, but he is still adopted without any blood ties with Wada Family. The old man would rather have his illegitimate son with his mistress to head the business. Such foolishness."

"Should I contact Mr. Wada Tatsuya?"

Ren smirked. "Leave it to me. We'll use him to lead our target to his dead end. We'll get our target and Wada Tatsuya will get favourable impression from the shareholders."

"What do you plan to do, sir?" a.s.sistant Matsuzaki almost got cold feet. He knew how ruthless his boss could be whenever he was planning something against his enemies. Working for his a.s.sistant for almost five years now, he still couldn't get used to the man's ruthlessness.

Ren didn't answer the question. His eyes grew darker. a.s.sistant Matsuzaki flinched. He left the office without being verbally dismissed. He knew how to pick up his boss' mood. Even though sometimes he wondered why recently he would catch a look of his boss smiling. If their female employees saw it, they would definitely capture it to be wors.h.i.+pped everyday. After all, their young president was a handsome man but it was really hard for him to smile. His handsome features were always cold and stoic, like a winter king.

Once his a.s.sistant left, Ren dialed a number. Besides handling the rat, he would have to catch up with what had happened to Tsubaki. He had instructed the matter to the person he trusted the most.

"Akas.h.i.+." His deep voice called the other person's name once his call was connected.

"h.e.l.lo, President Fuse! If you wanna know about her, could you please add a full sponsored trip to Paris in my paycheck?" A loud voice booming inside his head.

"Provide the information first." Feeling irritated, Ren almost wanted to end the call right away.

"Okay. Four days in Paris and three days in Milan. Oh, I want a week in Maldives too!"

Beep!

Ren tossed his phone aside. He didn't have time to entertain Gensai Akas.h.i.+'s eccentricity. He leaned back against the soft chair, closing his eyes for a moment to rest. It had just been two seconds before his phone rang and Akas.h.i.+'s name appeared on the screen.

"You're so cold, Ren! I'm working my a.s.s off yet you just dismissed me like that?"

Ren pinched his forehead. It was never easy for him to communicate normally with Akas.h.i.+ despite knowing each other for almost two decades. Akas.h.i.+ was a skilled private investigator yet his behaviour always made Ren questioned his origin. Did this guy come from the outer s.p.a.ce?

"Talk."

Akas.h.i.+'s laughter could be heard clearly in Ren's quiet office. He gritted his teeth. This guy has always loved to mess with him.

"Dude, you know that I'd properly do my job right? Aiya, you're no fun. I need to ask this Tsubaki how she could fall in love with an ice block. I seriously respect her for thawing you."

"Five seconds." Ren had reached his limit. If this rascal would continue rambling nonsense, he was afraid he would beat him to death the next time they met.

Sensing the looming danger, Akas.h.i.+ coughed for a bit before getting down to business. Knowing Fuse Ren for a long time, he had picked up bits by bits of his temper.

"Okay, okay, calm down sir!"

Akas.h.i.+ cringed. He just barely escaped from his premature death. Well, it was his fault anyway.
