Groans and strains could be heard from the mother and father pair as the infant got squeezed incrementally into the doctor's hands. The mother was a typical European brunette woman with slightly above average looks, her defining feature was her startling grey eyes which seem to depict an ever-raging storm due to a mutation in her quirk. On the other hand, the father was a bit less distinct appearing, he had grey stained black hair that went to his shoulders and deep black eyes that hide an almost manic like energy, his face is angular with deep ridges due to malnourishment.
Time crawled by and eventually, the couple's efforts paid off. A smack could be heard followed by the wronged cries of a new soul that blessed this world.
The doctor handed the newborn back to his mother and took the father away to fix his mangled fingers.
Upon the father's return, he saw his wife gazing at their son, practically glowing with happiness.
"What do you think Maria? He's a real beaut if I do say so myself" The father stated whilst cradling his newly healed hand.
Ignoring her husband, Maria looked down at her child, starlight fogging her eyes. Due to the strain of the birth, she could only manage to kiss his forehead before falling asleep due to exhaustion, the content smile remained on her face.
The father, otherwise known as Viktor Wildmoor, smiled at her wife's sleeping face and planted a kiss on her slumbering lips.
But as his lips touched hers he couldn't feel her breath. He put his ear near her mouth hoping for any sound but only silence was his answer.
Carefully he shook his wife,
"Maria, Maria. Wake up please, this joke isn't funny" his voice growing increasingly frantic, but when his only reply was her sleeping face.
"DOCTORS, HELP MY WIFE-" after his cries a stream of doctors and nurses filed into the room.
On this winter night in the hospital remained a father and his son, the child feeling a similar sense of loss cried in harmony with his father.
A year later in Wildmoor household, Viktor practically isolated himself from his child as much as possible, only tending to his needs through the use of robots he created himself due to him being an engineer by trade but more of a mad scientist behind closed doors. Unfortunately due to the emergence of quirks his talents aren't as appreciated in these modern times. However, he continued to persevere despite being quirkless. His work made a major breakthrough into enhancing his systems and software when he hired his a.s.sistant who'll eventually become his wife, her quirk was that she could completely a.n.a.lyse machines both hardware and software. Eventually, the duo innovated in the field of robotics creating autonomous robots for consumer and specialist use. They even got contracts from UA to design robots to be used in their curriculums and entrance exams.
However, due to the death of his wife, he became estranged to the world, becoming more and more reclusive to the point where he couldn't even face his own son who shared his mother's stormy glare.
The child in question, Terry, was a mish-mash of either parent with eyes that seemed more aggressive than his mother's and black hair with some brown highlights. At this point in time, being a one year old with his ability to crawl, was roughhousing with the nanny droid. Well more like gumming at its leg whilst the droid continued to watch out for its well being.
Viktor, who could only view his child through a monitor sighed at his own cowardice. Despite having his son who he did truly love, he could not bring himself to live on without her by his side. Looking down at his shaking palm he closed them with a faint resolve before he leaves this world he will leave his son a first and final gift.
