Ned has been sleeping outside the s.p.a.ce this whole week, since he trusted the old man a lot he wasn't afraid of getting attacked while sleeping.

Before going to sleep yesterday he had thought of something. Can he use scan on people? This was important but since he was tired from all the touring he did he went to sleep.

Once the morning had come, Ned was excited to go to this capital city the old man talked about.

But before that, he asked Emmy in his mind, "Emmy, can I use the function scan on people?"

"(Yes, you can scan anything you want)" Emmy replied. With an almost childish voice.

And Ned was waiting for the day she gets upgraded to a high grade will. How will she be at that time? But for now since she replied in positive to his question, he decided to try it on the old man and Lori.

Getting up from the bed he washed his face with water he filled on a basin, and then headed downstairs to eat breakfast.

He found Lori there waiting for him, along with the old man.

The inn was closed the past week as it served no purpose anyways.

"Good morning" Ned said.

"Morning Ned" The old man said and smiled.

"Good morning Ned" Lori also smiled at him.

He joined them sitting at the table, and grabbed a bunch of things and put them on his plate and started eating.

Once done, he asked the old man, "How long would it take for us to reach the capital city?"

"Not but a second my boy" The old man said with a mysterious smile. Clearly indicating he won't say anymore.

And when he turned to Lori, she just smirked at him as she turned her head to the side.

Not minding it anymore and deciding to play a prank on Lori , he turned to the side and clutched his heart as he whispered, "I'm so hurt…"

After which she began fidgeting at the side clearly anxious to tell him but still didn't.

Noticing that she was nervous, he laughed as he said, "I'm just joking"

"I'm sorry Ned but grandpa wanted it to be a surprise" Lori said while looking really sorry.

He waved his hands in dismissal. Not minding it at all.

But he was still curious as he had seen the map, and distance between each city was big. But since the old man said it will take a second he chose to trust him.

Since he didn't have anything to pack from the room, as he placed all his things in the inventory. And as for the was.h.i.+ng of clothes, all his clothes/equips could return to their optimal state once inside the inventory.

He however since he was in the company of the old man didn't bother to wear his armors and boots.

He just wore normal cloths, with a black jean, and black s.h.i.+rt with a dark gray robe above them that reached almost until his ankle, and sandals for his feet.

And although the jean he was wearing wasn't normal to wear considering the people in this world wore things made from silk or wool, he didn't care and it wasn't that obvious anyway.

But the same couldn't be said for the old man and Lori, they had many things to pack as they practically lived in this inn. But he waited patiently for them. As they were sort of considered his family.

His family on this world. And although he had other family in the other world, he didn't have a way to go back, as such he decided to live his new life fully while praying they live happy with their own lives.

He was brought out of his thoughts when Lori appeared wearing casual clothes with a dark brown leather pant that hugged her figure and a sleeveless green s.h.i.+rt, with a light brown robe above them that reached a bit above her knees.

And she had sandals for her feet too, just ones for females unlike his who were for men.

"I sure am lucky aren't I ?" Ned said as he admired the girl he was in a relations.h.i.+p with.

The combination of colors she chose was simply adding to her charm.

She heard him and smiled with a small blush on her cheeks. After all women liked compliments.

Next the old man came, wearing black leather pants and a b.u.t.ton up sleeveless white s.h.i.+rt with sandals similar to Ned.

All of their things were probably in their s.p.a.ce rings, was what Ned thought when he saw them not holding anything.

"Well then let's go" The old man said as he lead the way and Ned followed after him and Lori.

as for the inn he was sure the old man had either sold it or left it to someone to take care of.

From the road they took he knew they were going to the magician guild. But he didn't understand why.

Once they reached there they headed to a room inside where there was a line of people waiting in front of it's door.

The old man just pa.s.sed the line and he and Lori followed, with even the guards letting them pa.s.s.

Once inside the room, he saw nothing in it, but a magical circle just like the one he had in the s.p.a.ce where he can increase the gravity.

He finally guessed why they said it would take just an instant to travel.

"So this is why you said it will take only a second. But I thought n.o.body was able to reach rank 8 as a s.p.a.ce mage." Ned said as went near the old man.

"Yes indeed. However a teleportation circle can be made by using many resources and a couple s.p.a.ce mages for inscribing the circle. Now let's go" The old man said with a smile as he stepped inside and got enveloped with a light before he was gone.

Lori went near Ned and held his hands with hers as she stepped into the circle together with him.

Once in the other side, and beside that the room was wider there wasn't much change.

Heading out of the room they found the old man waiting for them, joining him, they went outside the guild, and rented a carriage that was driven by two magical beasts of the same kind.

From the shape of it looked like a horse but had several bones sticking to it like an armor, and he knew that it was many times faster and stronger than a normal horse.

"Take us to my castle" the old man told the driver as Ned and Lori got inside with Alaster.

And it appeared that the driver knew the old man, or the old man was just famous.

While chitchatting, they were soon looking out the windows of the carriage, and spotted the castle surrounded by tall walls that they were heading to.

It was on a mountain near the outskirts of the capital city.
