"You shouldn't get carried away like that, you know?" It was surprisingly Lanya who said that toward Arima.

The latter widened his eyes and looked at her, his Silver Emperor's aura disappeared. He then smiled wryly, he never expected Lanya to be the one saying that. Maybe it was more because of the awkwardness he felt that he calmed down instantly.

He coughed and stood up "Yeah, sorry about that" He stood up and headed toward the exit, he had to go to the FDA soon anyway.

Night shrugged and followed him, along with Karma. The two remaining also left just after.

"What is this very awkward situation?" Arister muttered before leaving the Inn.

Later, in the cla.s.sroom, a bit like Karma's case, Night quickly said that he was Arima's soul beast. But that presentation brought a lot of shock to the students, well if they knew that Karma was a weapon, they would have been thunderstruck, but still, a soul beast was called like that for nothing.

They thought that soul beasts couldn't take human form. Then when they took Arima in consideration they managed to find the situation normal.

"Anyway, today I'll try to do Death, Life and Time magic in one go. Of course, the last one is a bit more complicated, but it doesn't mean that it's too long to explain" Arima sat down and declared.

"I'll explain Death and Life magic at the same time. Obviously, there's no such thing as an explanation for what is death and what is life. First, you all know a simple thing, your life continues as long as you're alive while death represents its endpoint"

"If you want to master these two magics, you need to perfectly understand life and death and everything related to it" Arima turned toward Balan "Tell me, what did you learn to master life magic?" He asked.

Balan pondered for a moment and then smiled "Since I was little, my mother always worked hard to teach me about life, about the world. She always told me that life could be sad, but even then, if I continued to live, then I would find happiness somewhere" He narrated.

"That's why I wanted to learn life magic. After my mother pa.s.sed away, I decided to become a healer, for that, I tried to learn everything about the medicine and human biology. And I also accepted requests to heal people. To gain experience" He said and Arima nodded in satisfaction.

"There you go, for life and death magic, that's what you need" Arima declared "You need to learn about either life or death, the former is hard and is a path you're forced to take, but you must never stray away. The latter is different, it's the end of the road and you can be scared of it, most people are. But death isn't something that should be feared but accepted"

"Without death, life is nothing, you should almost be grateful. Even before that, n.o.body knows what is to be dead. How can we keep being scared of something that has never even happened to us? Fear of the unknown? We experience that during our whole life, what's the point of thinking about it so strongly for death?"

"Even undead monsters reincarnated people or even resurrected people. They can't tell what is death. As long as someone can stand and hold a conversation with you, he is not dead. Death isn't something so small, it's when you completely disappear from existence. People who say that they experienced death, they should shut up, how could someone who experienced death still talks to say that?" Arima said and paused.

"Death and Life magic come together every time. One cannot exist without the other, that's a fact. But most people can't master both because the two need a completely different state of mind and only some rare individuals can separate them clearly to use them at the same time"

"The last thing I can tell you about the understanding of those two ideas is simple. If you want to understand them, you just need to go up front and look into it. Only those with experience gained from life and death struggles can really understand everything"

"But there are different people, some understand it in their own way. They can easily become someone who lives to save people or someone who lives to kill others" Arima added and everyone listened to him quietly.

"Now, for the practical uses. First, let me tell you that the life force flowing in our body can be affected by life magic, especially to heal. You all know that. But don't forget that death energy also exists, it's an energy contained in the undead, usually, but it isn't weaker than life force, don't make that a.s.sumption. For example, if life force is a positive number then death energy is a negative one"

"With life magic, you can interact with a person's body, mana, organs, even mental state sometimes, by combining Mind magic. Life magic can be used as a mean to attack by disturbing the life force in the opponent's body. You can also create things like benedictions if you use it with Light magic theory. And of course, you can counter death magic with it"

"With death magic, well, you can, just like I said, counter life magic, just that death magic is a lot deadlier. If you use death magic to invade a person's life force, if he isn't strong enough, he will definitely die. With death magic, you can, of course, practice necromancy and raise the dead. But it isn't resurrection at all"

"When you transform a dead into an undead, it comes back as ent.i.ty full of death energy, like a newborn with a new soul. But the more the corpse is tough the stronger the undead will be and they can also evolve and become intelligent, like liches for example. Additionally, if you want to heal an undead, you use death magic, it works like life magic in that case"

"Finally, if you work with Dark magic theory, you can create curses and plagues. A really dangerous thing" Arima smirked and his students smiled wryly.

"Magic relies a lot on your mentality, and those two are particularly affected by it" He added "To finish on this topic, I want to tell you something, the most important thing in magic" Arima declared and his students' eyes flashed with interest.

Arima smiled at them "It's very simple. Broad Mindedness" He said and the students showed a confused expression. One more time, Arima smiled "To use magic, you need to be open-minded under any circ.u.mstances. You always must be able to accept anything that comes at you, you should even consider that anything can exist"

"To be a mage" Arima paused "You must think of imaginary as a reality. Nothing is impossible, and nothing is crazy. Everything you can think of is true and real. You can't be a powerful mage if you can't accept that fact" He said and his students fell into deep thought.

Arima looked at them "To be honest, in that aspect, I have the arrogance to say that you won't find better than me" He said "Ultimately, that's my advice, keep your mind open to anything" He concluded and his students nodded.

"Fine, now the last one, you all know about it, since it's the hardest magic to master among the non-elemental category. Time magic"

"Now let's talk about time, like always. First of all, I'm sure I need to clarify something, time isn't really something out of this world or an unknown power which affects the world. It's a bit like s.p.a.ce. Look" Arima pointed toward the ceiling and a projection appeared.

On it, red squares started to form here and there "Those red squares are the matter in our world" He explained and everyone nodded.

After that, in the red squares and even outside of it, blue spheres started to appear "You already know what it is, those circles represent s.p.a.ce. And then" Arima waved his hand and the projection changed once more.

Overall the projection, above and around the matter and s.p.a.ce, countless white lines suddenly recovered everything. Those white lines were moving into a single direction without stop like a wave.

"Finally, this is Time" He declared and his students exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, Time is actually similar to s.p.a.ce. It's not something really mystic or ethereal. To explain it to you in the simplest way possible, without saying anything wrong, Time is a sort of energy omnipresent in the universe which acts as what we call time" Arima said.

"That's why gravitational fields can actually disturb time. I'm sure you don't know what I'm talking about, so look at this" Arima pointed one more time pointed at the projection.

Among the numerous white lines, a green circle emerged "That green point is a planet" Arima commented "Now look at the white lines" He instructed and his students looked closely. Then, they realized that there was a slight change in the speed and form of the white lines around the planet.

"Every planet or star releases a gravitational field. The slight disturbance you're seeing on Time is caused by the field. Which basically means that gravity can affect Time, proving that it isn't something out of this world" Arima explained.

"For example, if I happened to carefully create a gravitational field strong enough around the school, then, let's skip the details, the Time within the school will be slightly slower than outside of it" Arima said and the students were mind blown.

Even Arister and Lanya widened their eyes, only Karma and Night were calm, the two of them were connected to Arima, so they more or less knew the same theories as him, even if they weren't very clear about it.

"One more thing, from where I come from, a renowned man named Albert Einstein proposed a s.p.a.ce-Time theory. First of all, you have to consider that s.p.a.ce and Time fuse together to create a sort of relative platform"

He said and the projection cleared and displayed something else, it was a planet which was above a sort of blue grid, or maybe it was more accurate to call it a net. And that net seemed to be dug by the planet itself, creating a sort of hole

"That net is s.p.a.ce-Time, represented like a simple two-dimension surface. The hole you're seeing in the middle is created by the gravitational field of the planet.

"On this representation, for example, the Time at the bottom of the hole is different than what it is outside of it, farther from the planet. That's why two people, at different places, can measure a difference in time compared to the other"

"Well, that's more or less the same thing I explained before, we call that Time dilation. I will pa.s.s all the details and explanations about Relativistic Time for now and I'll directly skip to the world line, also thought by Einstein" Arima declared and his students did their best to not lose focus.

"That theory says that we should not be considering Time like it is 'flowing' or 'pa.s.sing'. Based on that theory, past, present and future are all gathered together at any specific point in s.p.a.ce. Past is not something that happened once, it's something that is there. Time is like a higher dimension in which we are obligated to travel in, without our choice. There's actually no relation between past, present and future, these three terms, and ideas, were only created for, let's say, the common people to understand a minimum"

"But it's actually just an 'illusion'. Things that you experienced, that you qualify of past, are actually still there in the s.p.a.ce-Time surface, you just can't reach it, same with the future. As for the present, it's just where you are right now in the s.p.a.ce-Time dimension"

As Arima continued to speak, everyone's thought process started to fume "Then, for example, if you happen to travel in Time one day, you won't actually travel from present to the future or the past. You will just be able to move on the s.p.a.ce-Time surface to actually go somewhere else, which is the past or the future for you"

Arima said and sighed lightly. He looked at his students and smiled "Of course, all of this was simplified. Even I cannot make it simpler without saying some stupid things. Already, the way I explained that to you would definitely be criticized by some scientists if they had heard what I just said" He said and his audience's mood became quite depressed.

Arima chuckled and waved his hand "If you want me to explain the details of this, ask me later. I'll answer more clearly" He announced then smirked "But, it's not over" He said his students trembled and looked at him with a blank look.

"If what I just explained was enough to use Time magic, then the G.o.ds would have already mastered it for ages. From my understanding, there are two reasons why most people can't succeed with Time magic" Arima raised two fingers and smiled.
