"Ms Wilson has agreed to meet us. I'll go to see her tomorrow afternoon." Casey informed Zavier, her a.s.sistant about the agreed appointment she just made with Mia through the phone call.
"Do you want me to go with you?"
"It's okay. I guess better I go alone there. She sounds a bit weak just now so I think she'll trust us more if I can give her sense of security. It would be easier if only just two of us."
"Alright. About the unfair treatment of the workers in the countryside, we've received new updates. Do you want to look at them now or after you settle Ms Wilson's matter?"
"When is the hearing of the appeal?"
"Around two months from now."
"Just keep updating the case. I'll take a look at it after my appointment tomorrow. Now I have to go to another meeting outside. Anything, let me know through messages."
Casey tidied up her desk before grabbing several folders and her suitcase along with her for the next appointment. Earlier this year, she heard a rumour among her friends in the entertainment industry saying that in some agencies, there was discrimination of the distribution of resources to their actor/actress lines. Since then she had been enquiring about this but there was no solid evidence but luckily someone was willing to come forward and gave information about this. Today she would meet up that person at the set place and it was located in some distant area. Casey drove her second car, Audi, since her favourite was still at the mechanics and her Audi was much suitable for this type of trip.
It took her less than two hours to reach that place. It turned out to be an abandoned warehouse near the jetty. From where she parked her car, she could see a few people were loading some boxes into the cargo. The jetty was pretty much secluded from the main road. Maybe there were not many s.h.i.+ps stopping by this jetty hence there was no need for the improvement on the road connection.
Casey didn't see any vehicle around except hers so she decided to examine the warehouse's compound and the backyard area. Probably that person chose to hide his/herself as a precaution. She tried to contact that person but her calls couldn't get through. She started to feel worried in case anything happened to that person because of this matter. After all, a person's life mattered more than seeking justice.

She circled the area a few times more until she heard a m.u.f.fling noise inside the warehouse. She peeked through one of the semi-transparent windows and saw a movement on the floor. It looked like a pair of legs trying to break free from the rope that was tied around the ankles. Immediately she headed to the main entrance and kicked open the door. Luckily the door hadn't been maintained properly so it was a bit rusty. With a bang sound of the door fell on the ground, Casey ran to the place that she saw just now.
It was a woman with messy hair. Her mouth was stuffed with a thick white cloth and both the hands and legs were tied. She was struggling to free herself. Quickly Casey untied the rope and helped that woman leaned against one of the boxes there. That woman rapidly inhaled and exhaled for air as if she was suffocating. Casey threw away the cloth that covered that woman's mouth and rea.s.sured her that everything was fine.
"It's okay. You're safe now. Take deep breathes slowly. Calm yourself down."
When that woman recovered her normal breathing pace, she spoke with a weak voice.
"Ms Hugh, I'm the one who sent you the anonymous message. My name is Elaine, one of the managers in Superstar Entertainment."
"Okay, Elaine. Do you want to go to the hospital first? Let's do some checkup to confirm that you're fine."
"It's okay Ms Hugh. They didn't do anything to me other than tied my hands and legs."
"Who did this? Someone from your company?"
"I don't think so. I came straight away from my house. I'm still on my leave so I don't make any contacts with my colleagues. Just now, all of them wore masks and suddenly grabbed me when I came out of my car."
"Your car? I didn't see any cars outside except mine. I believe your car has been stolen. Maybe they're just a group of robbers. Do you want to make a police report first?"
"No... No... the police may come to my office later on so my colleagues will be aware of our meeting."
"If so, let's go to my place. We can have a private talk at my house."
Elaine shook her head again. "I must show you something here. It's important for what I'm about to tell you. Let's go outside. That place is just nearby here."
Casey was a bit reluctant. She cared more about this woman's condition but seeing how keen Elaine was, she gave in and helped her to stand up with one of her hands supporting Elaine's waist and the other held the shoulder.
They headed out of the warehouse and Casey thought that the place that Elaine was referring to must be around the jetty but to her surprise, Elaine led her away from the jetty. At the backyard, there was a hidden route that Casey didn't realise when she first checked the area. The route wasn't obvious but there were traces of faint footprints on the damp ground.
"Where are we heading to?" Seeing that they were about to go into the small forest, Casey was in doubt.
"Do you know Hannah Douglas, the new artist?"
"Daughter of Mr Douglas, one of the United Democratic politicians?"
"Yeah, that one but this isn't about Hannah or her father. It's Hannah rumoured boyfriend."
Casey was getting confused. This case should be about the unfair allocation of resources to artists but how come a love scandal was involved too?
"I knew about this because I'm the manager a.s.signed to Hannah Douglas and this issue is more dangerous than just about the resources allocation." As if Elaine knew what was going on inside Casey's mind, Elaine further explained the issue.
