So far, the Order of Light has Serpentes, Hearth Fire, Storm Seekers and Some Vanguards on their side. While we have a hundred spell casters and Scy's guild. If I can manage to get the approval of Drake then that means Storm Seekers won't be that much of a problem on our side. Scy can take care of the Hearth Fire and Our guild will take Serpentes and Order of Light. If we can manage of course.
"Yow, Sea Lion! Why the long face? Are you a seahorse or something?" Osia... Why is she kept on comparing me to seanimals?
"Well, I'm just a bit worried you know. We really haven't partic.i.p.ated in wars and the thought of losing our guild kind of makes me sad. The odds really are not in our favor but I trust everyone's abilities."
"Worrying won't help so bring your infectious smile back and let's kick some sharks that want to eat you." Good thing I have her. I can't say yet but based on how she talks, she has a pure heart.
"Thanks, Osia. Let's go!" So yeah, we are moving out.
-Jungle, Near Drowned Tridents Guild-
And yeah, every monster we met along the way starts running as soon as they see us. I don't like how we attract too many attentions, though. I bet opposing guilds are going to try to ambush us but G.o.d, I hope not. To be honest, traveling with someone makes me feel at ease.
So far, we managed to get out of the jungle in one piece and we're close to the Dragoons City. And yeah, the only one who's talking is Osia making jokes and stuff but most of her guildmates don't listen to her at all. I know that they are not in a good mood after being sent to die with us. If I would choose, I'd rather stay at home and curl up with a good long sleep because I can't read obviously.
"Is it still far? I'm so tired and I just want to rest like a starfish." Osia asked with a hint of exhaustion.
"I thought you're a traveler? Where do you travel exactly?" I asked.
"I didn't say I travel by foot you know. I travel the wide sea and you can't believe what I've seen. No one has ever seen it but me." I guess she has a sea monster friend that takes her to anywhere she wants.
"Then you must be daydreaming or something. We're almost there. Just don't get left behind." I hope we don't get in trouble in our way.
-Dragoons City-
A couple of hours have pa.s.sed and finally. We reached Dragoons City. We were welcomed warmly as most of the guards are men. They looked at the spellcasters in awe. Yeah, they really are beautiful. Drake showed up and is now walking towards us.
"It shows that you really got the approval of Sh.e.l.la. She's generous enough to lend you a handful of spellcasters, real beauties too. You should go to our Inns and rest. Also, Chara, I guess we need to finish what we have talked about last time." Drake invited me to his Guild Hall.
And yeah, so I followed him back to their Guild Hall. The spellcasters were also escorted to their resting place.
"So how did you pull that off?" He's impressed. I can see that.
"Nothing, really. I just told her that we need help. Also, I told her that you guys would help them with their dispute against Storm Seekers. You guys can easily take down Storm Seekers by working together." I explained.
"Siegriel would really be p.i.s.sed about this. He chose to help Order of Light because he wants to pay them back after the Order of Light helped them retake their city. Though this time, he decided to just join the war with his officers and not risk his city again." So, Siegriel wasn't really going with his full force. Thankfully, that would be fewer archers to worry about, not to mention his archers are way too good.
"I know you guys are friends but you also know that this pointless war should be stopped before it starts. If we can show them that we can also fight back and our chances of winning would rise a bit, then we might be able to talk it out, right?" If there's a will, there's a way.
"I hope you guys can do something about it. Why can't you guys just let them search your guild? I know Jay won't do something stupid like stealing the Soulstone and I guess no one can really steal it unless it's Aurora or Maximus himself. If I remember it correctly, Aurora said that she should hold on to it because it's too dangerous for anyone to use it. Have you guys talked to her?" He has a point but how on earth could we talk to her knowing she hates Jay to the bones...
"We have our reasons. And no, not yet. We heard that she's staying at the Order of Light for now. We also heard that she's with Maximus and the other Order of Light officers that time when they heard that the Soulstone was stolen which means that Maximus and Aurora won't be a suspect at all. And like you said earlier, there's no way anyone can steal it if it's not Aurora or Maximus which leads me to think that there's something weird about this scenario." I still have no idea who would do such a thing.
"If you want to get more information about people who have the abilities to steal that Soulstone, you might want to speak with s.h.i.+v, the Guild Leader of Dark Brotherhood. He knows all the information from sneakiest to most murderous a.s.sa.s.sins out there. Though, he's the King. There's a chance he'll kill you or if you can make him like you, then somehow, he might give you clues. Though, no one has ever seen his guild besides his guildmates. Worst idea, but worth the shot to stop this madness, right?" Your idea alone is madness enough.
"I don't like the sound of it but maybe I'll try. For now, I'll visit Life Guild and talk to Scythus. After the declaration of war, we heard that some of his members decided to leave. I need to check if they can really help us and fight their own friends." I explained.
"Managing a new guild is kind of one of the hardest thing to do. Your decisions affect your guild members. Some of them might like the idea but some won't. That's why their guild must have problems. Everyone knows that our guild is the most vulnerable and ranked as the weakest. I've made that choice. It sounds crazy but I have reasons and you'll see that later on." He sure shows confidence.
"I hope to see your best cavalry in combat. But for now, let's pray that we can avoid unnecessary deaths."
"We talked enough. Try to rest for now before you head out. It's still noon time so grab a bite and enjoy the hospitality of Dragoons City." He offered.
"I got the best hospitality the first time I got here. Those spears did the trick. Haha." And yep, after talking I decided to head to the Inn nearby.
I logged out and got back after maybe two hours. I didn't really pay attention too much about the time. I tried talking to my sister about what is happening with their guild but so far, when I was out, she's still in-game, and when I'm in-game, she's out... Our timings won't match at all. I guess that they are all busy too.
I checked my stats and so far, I'm rested enough. Life Guild is a bit far. It's in the center of Forest, North of Gra.s.sland. If I want to save time, then I need to use the Ravens' Path. I don't have a choice but to risk it.
"Yow, sea lion. Where are we heading next?" Osia found me.
"I need to visit a friend. It's quite far from here so for now, you guys should stay here and wait for me. If I leave now, I can reach it by night. I'll be here tomorrow morning."
"Are you going alone like a lonely turtle? I can't let you go travel alone. I'm coming with you." And here's a problem...
"I really appreciate your concern but I have to go alone. Judging by your movement speed, there's no way we can reach the destination by night." Also, if I'm going to get killed, it would be better if I'm alone.
"Don't underestimate me, Sea Lion. I may not as fast as you but... I can try you know. If I have to summon my monster soul then I will." She insisted...
"Suit yourself. If we get in trouble, don't blame me if I left you alone." I replied.
"You say that now but if you see my cute penguin eyes, you will rescue me for sure. Haha." No, I won't.
"Then I won't look while they pummel you to death. Haha. Pack your things, we'll be leaving after five minutes."
"You bully. Just wait for me!" She somehow reminds me of myself. I can say that even if she has this sunny disposition, I can tell that her sister and her guildmates are faintly aloof with her.
-Ravens Path-
I am now traveling with a girl I barely even know. It's not even a day yet but I feel really comfortable with her, maybe because I can see myself from her. She's so jolly and it's like she doesn't have a problem at all. She's so free.
We took the Ravens Path to save time. Monsters around here are not as strong as those in the jungle near Drowned Trident but they are still dangerous if they attack in groups. Ravens also tend to ambush travelers. I hope we don't get in trouble.
I feel something strange about this road. There are no animals or monsters nearby. I can't sense anything. The only things I can feel are the trees being pushed by the wind blows. Suddenly... my knees started to get weak... what is happening...
"Sea Lion! Hey! Wake up!" I heard Osia's voice while my consciousness fades.
