New Life Online 156 The Start Of The Invasion

*Akko's POV*

It's almost five days now since Scythus went to the Castle at the top of the Icy Mountain but he never came back. There's no way that he won't be resp.a.w.ning here when he died. I don't know what happened but I think we should really do something now. We tried to go to the Icy Mountains to look for him but the Guilds Alliance won't let us go farther. They also improved their watchtowers and walls to defend from the coming invasion so we can't get past unnoticed. We even saw s.h.i.+v healthy and well. We also can't tell if Scy is being imprisoned by the Alliance because we can't feel his aura anywhere. I have a feeling that he's still alive. Unfortunately, we haven't really exchange personal contacts so there's no way we can get any news from him in real life.

"Hey Akko, you worry too much about Scythus. If he's gone for so long, then there must be a reason right?" Elou tried to ease my troubled mind. I really hope he's ok.

"I know, it's just that something like this never happened," I just... miss him so much...

We reinforced our defenses and even build higher walls made of concrete. We have a small village but it's st.u.r.dier and easy to defend because it requires fewer soldiers and archers. Zia also hasn't returned yet.

Our daily routine for now while Scy is gone is improving our village and also scouting the nearby area for possible raids and stuff. We are also doing our best to find an alternative way to bypa.s.s the walls and watchtowers guarding the Icy Mountains but it is really heavy and well guarded. The only thing we forgot after the meet up in the city is exchanging contact information... If only I got his phone number, I might be able to call him and ask what happened but we didn't antic.i.p.ate that. Where are you Scy... Please come back.

-Icy Plains, Alliance Camp-

*Zia's POV*

We're here for a couple of days now and our supplies are running out. Most of us are restless and our fatigue and hunger are at their peaks. The only foods we eat are bread and some fruit. Other players are also logging out from time to time to do their personal stuff. If the enemies are watching us, then they should have already seen the weakness of our camp. Merchants also are helping us with supplies which are very helpful. I'm really thinking why can't we just explore the mountain and look for the monsters like s.h.i.+v told us. There must be some kind of something there that they are just waiting here instead of going farther but isn't it a bit really longer than we thought? We are wasting too much time here.

I think that even the Thirteen G.o.ds are also out of ideas why this is happening but the big mystery is why they haven't attacked us yet. Maybe the castle was just a trap to let us worry about the invasion.

"I told them to just follow the path to that cave and attack the h.e.l.l out of them but they told me that attacking the Icy Mountain would be a bad idea because the cave is too narrow that it's hard to attack at the same time. We have the upper hand because of our numbers. What a bunch of p*ssies!" Celeste is really p.i.s.sed right now. I think she tried to tell the guild leaders to attack the castle but she was shut down. The idea is pretty much straightforward but isn't it the best idea before the enemies could gather more numbers? I heard they've sensed a tremendous amount of army inside the castle and it's already been almost a week so that also means that they've probably increased their number more by now.

Still, I think I'm getting the idea why they can't just attack the cave. If we attack them in such a narrow place, they can easily kill a lot of players because I heard that the monsters consist of high-level ones that can easily beat us down without a proper strategy. Also, a lot of us are archers and magicians and it would really be a bad idea to bring them to such a place.

"Ok, it's already lunch time and we have to take a break. See you guys later." Miss Mari is really kind.

So I decided to log out but I felt something... the ground started to shake violently and it's like the epicenter is in the center of the camp!

"EARTHQUAKE!" People started to panic because of what is happening. Some of the watchtowers fell down to the ground because of the earthquake! They attacked us while the others are away!

*BOOOOOOOOM!* A loud explosion occurred from the epicenter and smoke covered the area!

"AAAAHHHHH!" Random shouts can be heard from the place! And you can hear the cries of people in pain and even the sounds of blades. .h.i.tting something!

*WOOOOOOOOs.h.!.+* A powerful wave was created removing the smoke that covers the area and a giant Minotaur showed up with a giant axe accompanied by well-equipped Orcs and other large monsters! They created a hole from the ground to surprise us!

"The invasion started! We already antic.i.p.ated an attack from the ground! Defenders! Surround the hole and make sure that they can't get too far!" It was Aurora with her absolute order!

"Supports! Create a unity barrier that will protect the defenders from the attacks of the monsters!" The defenders were covered with st.u.r.dy barriers that can even withstand an attack of a Dragon!

"Huff! Moondog!" The Minotaur can talk with that mouth!

*CRAAAAACK!* The dog looking creature with a staff lifted his weapon! After that, all the barriers broke for some reason reducing our overall defenses!

"What happened?! Magicians at the back! Use your spells and make them disappear!" Aurora ordered the magicians to use their spells but nothing happened! I don't use spells but it seems that all magicians can't use their spells!

"Ok, it seems that someone is trying to nullify magic in this place. s.h.i.+v, Raven, and Venum! Hunt that annoying doggie. Other none magic leaders will help me kill that Minotaur. Magic users, standby for support once you can use your spells again." She ordered and all of them just nodded.

You can hear the sounds of swords clas.h.i.+ng. The defenders are trying to hold their ground from the barbaric Orcs and every swing of the Minotaur, a couple of lives disappear.

The best a.s.sa.s.sins are rus.h.i.+ng towards the Dogman! They are so fast!

For me and my members, I haven't given them orders yet. This is a critical moment for all of us and we can't join unless we know what the best action is. We're not here to commit suicide.

"Gorgons! Fire your arrows!" As I look at the back, the snake-like creatures shot arrows towards the a.s.sa.s.sins! They are being ordered by another snake and human-like Boss! There are too many arrows to avoid!

"ORDER OF LIGHT HUMAN s.h.i.+ELD!" Someone shouted while running! It looks like most of the defenders are from the Order of Light Guild!

In just a couple of seconds before the arrows. .h.i.t them, they were able to create a defensive formation that blocked every arrow protecting the best a.s.sa.s.sins!

"Not bad, Order of Lights." s.h.i.+v is pretty impressed and once again rushed towards the Dogman.

This time, they met the Minotaur! They can't get past this monster so easily. It looks really angry too...

*SWOOOOOOs.h.!.+* The giant Minotaur tried to attack them by swinging his giant axe! How can he swing that axe so fast!

*BAAAAAAAAAM!* What the?! It was blocked by a warrior with a giant sword! I think his name is Zeth and one of the Thirteen G.o.ds!

"Not so fast, Bully." Good job, Zeth! That nickname though...

After that swing, the Minotaur drew his axe back and hit Zeth again!

*BAAAAAAAAAM!* It's stronger this time! Zeth has been pushed away after blocking the attack! Thankfully, the a.s.sa.s.sins managed to bypa.s.s the Minotaur but the Snake people are still defending the Dogman.

-Aries Home-

Meanwhile at Scy's simple home.

I should have never gone to that place alone... Now I'm stuck at home doing nothing but watch the TV to see what is going on inside the game. I tried to call the customer support of the game but they told me that it happens and it lasts a maximum of three days but it's already five days... if this is a result of a Legendary Boss, it may prove what they explained to me but they really need to fix this kind of system. They also told me that if my character, by any chance, gets broken then I will die and resp.a.w.n but thanks to that Lamia girl, now I'm waiting. If only I managed to get the contact information of the others, I could tell them what the h.e.l.l is happening to me.

Well, it's not that bad. I restocked our food and I even did some exercise. It's kind of boring but I need to stay fit and healthy. I also planned on how to defeat the other bosses but it's really impossible alone so I need to bring the others next time. Who was that girl in the mask though... I feel like I know her...

While watching TV, I saw what is happening and d.a.m.n, the invasion is starting. If that Frozen King revives his what-so-called best warrior then it will be even harder for us. From the looks of it, the Frozen King hasn't joined the fight yet. That Minotaur last time just lost consciousness and didn't die so now he's really showing off again. He's really tough too.

They figured out about the Moondog and they are targeting him first. If they can use spells, then they can really wipe the monster out fast but I don't think they can do that easily. The arrows flew like crazy and they were protected by the defenders! Not bad. But the Minotaur won't let you get past so easily.

Woah! It's the annoying Zeth... and joined the fight. What a show-off.

I decided to log in again but I still can't... d.a.m.n it! I want to join the fight!
